About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. These days, my family includes my partner, four kids, and what we lovingly call our “mini zoo”: dogs, cats, a bunny, ball pythons, a bearded dragon, mourning geckos, and multiple aquariums full of fish, shrimp, snails, and dwarf crayfish. Caring for such a variety of animals has made me comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to reptiles and aquatic pets. Since joining Rover, I’ve had the opportunity to care for pets with all kinds of unique needs. I’ve worked with raw-fed dogs and cats, chickens, senior pets, anxious pets, and plenty of quirky personalities. Along the way I’ve even found myself handling unexpected adventures like moving fallen tree branches after storms, making small home fixes, collecting fresh raspberries from clients’ gardens, and convincing stubborn geese to cooperate. Every home and every pet has its own story, and I love being someone families can depend on. My experience goes beyond pet sitting. In high school I volunteered regularly at a local animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I later worked as an assistant dog trainer, where I learned to read canine body language, encourage healthy play, and build trust through calm, confident handling. Whether I’m caring for one pet or an entire household, I believe great pet care is about more than feeding and potty breaks. I pay attention to routines, behavior, enrichment, and the little details that help pets feel safe while you’re away. I also keep an eye on your home, bring in packages, water plants if requested, and communicate with plenty of updates so you can truly relax while you’re gone. For families who enjoy it, my animal-loving family is often part of the fun as long as the pets are okay with their presence. If your pets love people, they’ll have no shortage of affection and enrichment while they’re with us. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the same way I’d want someone to care for mine, with patience, respect, and lots of love. Both my wife and I have worked in food prep and have experience with food allergies in our family so if you have any food allergies in your home, please let us know! We will do our best to make sure we do not add any cross contamination risks to your home. I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! Between my wife and I, we are almost always available and we can usually fit last minute requests or oddly times requests into our day. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself. Both my wife and I have worked in food prep and have experience with food allergies in our family so if you have any food allergies in your home, please let us know! We will do our best to make sure we do not add any cross contamination risks to your home. This includes pet allergies (one of ours is allergic to chicken). We have a very large unfenced yard. We do not use any pesticides on our yard to protect the environment and animals of all kinds. 🌎🐝🦋 In the warm months, you’ll see lots of native plants, wildflowers and butterflies in our yard as a result. Please note: While we welcome pets of all kinds, we do not allow pet parents into our home. We want to make sure we are protecting the privacy and security of our children and their space. Also: we have 4 kids (see: mini-zoo reference above) it can be a mess up in here sometimes! 🤣

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time. Between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. Sadly, now my father is no longer in my home. His care was too much for an in home setting, but we still visit and he shows my dogs off to everyone in his building. I find myself with time to spare and I know it's hard to get the minutes is for our 4 legged friends during busy weeks so why not let me take some of the burden from your schedule ? I have 2 dogs of my own, both of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. Cats are welcome too, we have plenty of treats and love to share. I don't work a regular job, I have recently moved my elderly father to a care facility, and I am taking classes to become a certified dog trainer in the hopes of making this my fulltime gig. I am available for walking and/or drop in visits at a moments notice a lot of the time. So let's get this thing started! For walking: usually I do a meet and greet with pet parents before we actually book services. Just to make sure your furry family member and I are fast friends, and also so you can show me how you care for your pet. I like to keep with the same que words and knowing where the leash and stuff is makes getting out of the house so much easier! I do keep a few different leashes and simple harnesses in my vehicle as well just in case it is ever needed. For drop in visits: I like to pop in with big excitement and spend a few minutes with your pet just simply petting and being social. After all drop ins are usually because a pet is in the home alone for an extended period, so we meet the social need first. Then I like to tackle the need to stuff, like feeding, or medication, or whatever the tasks may be, I finish out the visit with cleaning up any supplies, or food dishes, and a quick bit of play just for fun. Ending with a double check of the pet, the tasks, and bid goodbye, check that I leave the home secure and let you know how things went, then I'm off. For Stays: combination of both those with a rinse and repeat action and some added lounging and cuddle time if applicable. With stays I do walk (assuming it's a dog or more) at least once a day but usually more.

About: My family has had pets my whole life, and I spent a lot of time taking care of them. I’ve always had an ability to connect with animals of all sizes (and attitudes)! One of my strongest suits when meeting a new cat or dog is to evaluate and understand their own specific body language. They can tell us what they need, we just have to listen! I know some pets take a little longer to feel comfortable around a new human, and I always give them the space and patience that they need. I work during the day at a school, so I’m mostly free outside of school hours. I am also off work during school holidays. I do have some evening and weekend activities, but I still have plenty of time to take care of pets. Routines are very important for animals, so I will do what is needed to keep those routines in place and make them feel happy in their own home. As long as I know what the expectations are, we are good to go!

About: My family had dogs growing up so I have some experience walking and playing with dogs. I also have had my cats for about 7 years. I work from home Wednesdays and Fridays and could easily stop in for check ins during those days. I love to go on walks to grays lake so definitely looking for a dog or two to take with me. I would prefer a set of rules for my clients pets so I would know best how to service their pet while they are away.

About: I have been caring for animals since I was a little girl. In 2007 I started working in doggy daycare and then started pet sitting and dog walking. In 2019 I became a dog trainer. I work as a vet teach I am flexible with my schedule. I do house sitting on weekends. I can do some weekdays we just have to work it out. I can open to dog walks and drop ins 24/7. When I come to your place I would make sure your fur baby in comfortable and have as much fun as you would with them.

About: Hello! I am an avid dog and cat lover. I often watch my family and friends pets but aside from that I managed a cageless doggy daycare for 3 years. I own two senior cats myself. I am attentive and flexible. Always available to do meet and greet in person or over the phone prior to my services <3 helps me and your animals get an acquainted! I currently own my own business that allows me plenty of free time. I’m available most days and nights on short notice. Happy to accommodate any schedule. I do travel out of state quite a bit for my job but I will let you know immediately if my schedule were to change. I have first hand experience in handling all sizes of dogs and temperaments. Including training with dog aggressive dogs. I have experience in administering meds and first aid for both cats & dogs.

About: I grew up around dogs & cats of all kinds! I have been a solo pet owner for 8+ years & have 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 birds in my home. I am able to care for reactive dogs, diabetic cats/dogs, and know how to operate an E/Collar. I work for Rover because being around animals is a passion of mine & I am always open to helping out! I have flexible hours during my work week (between 7AM-11AM and 2PM-9PM specifically) and I am available on weekends! Anytime after 6pm, I can be there for your pets. I live in a central enough location, so travel to different parts of the metro easy! If I come to your home to care for your pets, I am an avid runner & am sure to get those pups out & active. I am comfortable using treats as incentive & have worked with my own dog through reactivity, so ensuring your pet feels safe is important to me! If your pet stays in my home, I live close to Gray's Lake & Waterworks Park.. making it easy for us to get out and explore. For cats that may come stay with me, we've got large windows & a cat hammock for lounging!
