About: I've been around dogs my whole life, my parents raised seeing eye dogs, and I helped with training and daily care from a young age. In my teens, I helped my mom run a small dog-boarding business out of our home, so I'm used to dogs with all kinds of temperaments and routines. Over the years, I've often been the go-to friend for dogs that need a little extra patience or understanding, whether that's a shy senior or a high-energy handful. I recently lost my own pup, and while l'm not ready for another full-time, I miss having a dog around and love being able to offer that care and attention to someone else's. I'm currently working on fixing up my very old duplex so I'm home, tinkering around most of the time, and my schedule is flexible. If you're worried about your pet being in a construction zone, not to worry! The living area is safe and segmented from anything that might be hazardous yet intriguing to your pet. I have a partially fenced yard, perfect for supervised play. Living in midtown means that there's plenty of interesting things to smell along walks. I can crate your dog if needed, and you're welcome to bring their own if that makes them most comfortable. I have quite a few house plants in my space, so please let me know if your pup is prone to chewing on them and I will move them out of the way for their visit.

About: Hiya! I’m John, a lifelong animal lover with over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. From my loyal Black Lab Doc, playful Mini Aussie Sakura, and regal Siberian cat Louis, to my tiny but demanding pea puffers, I’ve built a life surrounded by animals, learning how to meet their needs with patience, compassion, and respect. I’ve helped care for animals with a range of personalities and needs, from high-energy pups to sensitive or reactive pets who need a little extra space and understanding. I’m confident with medication management, basic training, and making even the shyest pets feel safe and seen. I bring the same sense of care and responsibility to pet sitting that I carried in my service as a U.S. Navy Veteran, and now as a Pre-Med Biology student. When I’m not studying or volunteering with the Belle Isle Conservancy, I’m often biking around Detroit or spending time with animals. They’re a grounding and joyful part of my life. Your pet’s comfort and well-being are my top priority. Whether they need a cuddle buddy, a calm presence, or a structured routine while you’re away, I’m here to treat them like family. My schedule is generally open and flexible, and I do my best to accommodate the unique needs of each pet and their family. While I occasionally travel, I only accept bookings when I know I can fully commit to your pet’s care. When I’m with your animals, they have my full attention, I stick to their routines, respect their comfort levels, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for every step of the way. When I enter someone’s home, I treat the space with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I always aim to leave things just as I found them, if not a little tidier. I also take time to scan the environment for anything that could pose a risk or distraction to your pet, making sure the space stays safe, calm, and just the way you left it. Your home and your pet’s routine are in good hands.

Medical Center pet parents share their Rover experiences
Absolutely amazing! My cat loved her and she was so gentle with her. If I need a sitter again I'll be booking her!

Lauren was great! Great communication and flexibility when scheduling our meet and greet. Definitely recommend her to watch after your pups.

Abdullah is the best - he’s detail oriented, sends great updates, and you can tell he really cares about our dog and taking care of him, whether he’s doing a drop in visit, walk, or full sitting. Highly recommend!

Makenna is an outstanding pet caretaker who will treat both your pets and your home like they were her very own. I couldn't recommend her more, you and your animals will be very pleased with her care and thoughtfulness.

Ashton was great and attentive to our cats needs while we we're out of town on vacation. We will definitely be using her in the future during our vacations to drop in and check on our cats.

Christine was communicative and took great care of my kitty while I was away. I couldn't recommend her more!

Abbey is the best!! My cat loves her. I have no worries at all leaving my cat in her care while I’m away. 10/10 would recommend.

Breanna is absolutely amazing to work with. I could tell she cared about my cat, and was genuinely concerned with her wellbeing. Breanna was willing to step up and help when I needed her to do an extra drop in last minute. She gave me so much peace of mind on my vacation, and I will absolutely be using her again for my next trip. 11/10.

Victoria did an awesome job caring for my 3 cats while I was away. I appreciated her sending me updates and photos after each visit. She followed the routine and care instructions well and played with the cats. My place was tidy and the cats seemed relaxed when I returned. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and would recommend Victoria. Thanks again!

Naomi was diligent and attentive to our new cat who played a tough game of hide and seek each time she arrived to check on him. Instead of throwing her hands up and saying she couldn’t find him, she took the extra effort of searching (high and low) to make sure he was doing well. We can’t thank Naomi enough for putting our minds at ease while we were on vacation. Thank you, Naomi!

Heather is the best! I am so grateful for her and the great care she takes of my two dogs and cat. I never worry when she’s watching them.

Megan did a great job with my pup! Very reliable and willing to accommodate your schedule! I will definitely be trusting her in the future, she was a delight to work with.

Rianne always pays close attention to details and is timely in her drop in visit. I trust her fully to look after my pets and retain all the details needed so that the feeding & play patterns stay consistent. Thanks!

Had Jordan pop in to take care of my cat Mimi. Followed, her routine and was amazing with her. He did an incredible job sending update photos, and making sure she was comfortable. I cannot say enough about how happy both my partner and I were to have Jordan look after our kitty.

This is the second time I’ve booked with Chloee and she is sensational and trustworthy. She sends photos and updates each day and is so attentive to my old buddy! He clearly has a great time with her — 100% will book with Chloee again!
