“Nancy was wonderful with my cats! She was so sweet and they seemed to warm up to her instantly. She was very helpful accommodating when the timing of my plans changed and I was confident that my cats were well cared for while I was away. I will definitely request Nancy’s services again in the future!”

About: I have a deep passion for all animals and a particular sweet spot for dogs. Growing up surrounded by pets gave me hands-on experience caring for everyone from energetic puppies to gentle seniors. In my previous roles as a nanny, my responsibilities often included caring for family cats and dogs, handling feedings, daily walks, and ensuring they remained happy and healthy. I also have specific skills for taking care of exotic pets, in particular pet rats, as I have two myself. Since I currently live in an apartment without the space for a dog of my own, I am looking for ways to spend more time with animals, as they bring me so much joy and keep me active. I am currently enrolled in an online school program and work a few evenings a week. This gives me a very flexible schedule with plenty of availability during the mornings and afternoons to dedicate to your furry friends. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I ensure that our walks take place in parks or quiet areas away from heavy traffic. While in your home, I remain attentive and vigilant to ensure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well-supervised at all times.

I'd be more than happy to discuss how I can provide you with the reassurance you need during your time away. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you! “Christopher was great! He was super communicative throughout the entire stay, and I felt like our cats were in good hands. I would definitely have him watch our cats again in the future.”

About: I offer calm, personalized care in a quiet home where your dog is treated like family, not one of many in a busy boarding facility or a home with multiple dogs. I typically host one household at a time, so your dog gets my full attention, genuine affection, and all the cuddles they can handle. My home is the right fit for friendly dogs who love companionship, walks, and settling into a peaceful routine. I'm especially drawn to dogs who thrive with one-on-one attention rather than the noise and energy of a busy multi-dog environment. I'm certified in Pet CPR, Healing Touch for Animals, and Reiki. And beyond the credentials, I'm deeply attuned to each dog's personality and energy. That attunement is what helps them settle in quickly and feel genuinely at ease. My connection to animals runs deep. I spent five years volunteering at Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, working in both the mammal department and wildlife hospital with injured and recovering animals. That experience sharpened my understanding of animal behavior and reinforced something I already believed: animals feel safety before they understand it. My goal is always to create that feeling from the moment your dog arrives! Because I work from home, pets in my care are rarely left alone for long periods and receive plenty of attention, walks, and companionship throughout the day. When pets stay in my home, they become part of a calm and comfortable daily routine. I primarily host dogs from 1 household at a time so each pet receives plenty of individual attention. Dogs here enjoy daily walks, playtime, and relaxed downtime, and I’m home much of the day since I work from home. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs so they feel safe and settled. For drop-in visits or walks in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, walks, litter care for cats, playtime, and companionship. I’m happy to send photo updates so owners know their pets are doing well.
About: I’ve had three cats almost my entire life, and have watched friends’ and neighbors’ cats so I am well versed in making sure they have the care they need! This past year, I got a handful of dog sitting gigs including two hyper golden retrievers and a senior terrier. I’m currently a full time college student home from break looking for something to do to help pay for school! I have full availability open! I am a big rule follower! Please let me know what care your animals need in your home and I’ll follow it to a T.
About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life. Puppies, middle age and the seniors. I have experience with all breeds and ages. I’ve worked with many dogs in the past and was lucky enough to have dogs in my house growing up. I already have a set schedule with my dogs. We walk twice a day. They are fed after the first morning walk and fed after the second walk in the evening. And of course playtime all day. I put my dogs first they’re my priority. I have a nice big fenced yard that is very shaded. I live downtown, walking distance to the marina and dog park. I do allow dogs in my bed and on the furniture. But I have lots of dog beds around the house if they that’s what they prefer!
“Isaiah could not have been a better pet sitter! He has a very gentle soul and is obviously an animal person. Our dog, who is ofter a little cautious with strangers, bounded up to him when we did our meet-and-greet. Even our standoffish cats gave in to his calming ways. Coming home after 5 days away, we found our house in perfect condition, all the pets food and water filled, the litter box clean, and a houseful of contented animals. We will absolutely be having Isaiah take care of our pets in the future!”

“Stephanie is awesome! She has dog sat for us twice now and has always kept me up to date on when she is arriving and how the visits go. She even brought Otto some pig skin treats (his favorites)! We will definitely book Stephanie again in the future!”

“Megan (and Aden 😉) is wonderful!! Clearly a cat lover with numerous cats of her own. And you can tell by what she says, notices, etc. Megan really helped me feel confident about leaving my 2 furry guys for just a few days in her wonderful care. As I kept receiving updates while away it reinforced that she was the best person for the job! Very thorough and really pays attention during the meet & greet. I know my 2 cats were very well cared for, and they were happy when we got home. Highly recommend and would use Megan again, absolutely!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Martinez
Telena has watched our shy kitty only twice, but has somehow managed to bring her out of her shell!! It normally takes our cat a long time before she warms up to people and she will usually just hide the whole time. But this time she came out and hung out with Telena which is so cool to see! Telena is super patient and kind with our cat, and very responsive while we’re out of town. I highly recommend her services !! Thanks Telena !!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
