Abe and I both have hybrid schedules in and out of the home, so between the two of us there is often at least one of us home! We tag team feeding, litter box changing and of course cuddles and playtime!

Because we have cats of our own we typically set up visiting pets in our cat friendly guest room where they have their own set of toys, litter box, food and water fountain. We might start with the door closed for a few hours, or make use of a pet friendly screen door to allow physical separation but allow for the pets to check each other out and get used to all of the scents. Once they start positively interacting through the door we’ll slowly start to introduce which usually ends up with happy playtime pretty quickly! They’ll still have the option of using the items set out for them in the guest room throughout their stay. We use clay for and have a few extra litter boxes that we set up for guest cats, but if you think your kitty would have a hard time adjusting to this litter we are happy for you to send your own! We have many cat toys, two window hammocks, a cat tree and many soft cozy surfaces throughout the house.

I’d love to know how your cat interacts with other cats as we have three cats who are very excited to make new friends! I’d also like information on any special needs or behaviors they might have so that we can plan ahead for that! Our home is mostly carpeted, so we do not accept cats who are known sprayers or who are not well litter box trained. Confirming that your cat is fully vaccinated and treated for fleas is also appreciated!
A typical day
A day at our house would consist of feeding, playtime with our cats, napping on our window hammocks and cozy spots throughout the house and lots of cuddles.

Hi pet parents! I'm Lily, a graduate student originally from San Francisco now living in Benicia with my partner Abe and three cats, Earl Grey, Goose and Finnegan. If you take a look at my profile, I'm sure you'll see that many of my Rover reviews mention dog care. While I love caring for dogs, I am excited to be pivoting to cats only now that I have my own cats in my home! Earl and Finn love hosting other cats, and are excited to play with, cuddle and share their many toys with new friends! Other clients have described our home as “kitty summer camp” because their cats come out tired and happy from endless playing! I am a lifelong animal lover, and have owned, fostered or cared for cats, dogs, horses, rabbits and chickens. Throughout these experiences, I have racked up skills including IV and oral medication administration, specialized feeding, and techniques for working with pets with special needs.

This is my third time booking with Lily and she is wonderful as always! My cat is almost 14 years old so she can be pretty grumpy and has a hard time adjusting being away from home. Lily went above and beyond in making Cochina feel comfortable. I know I can always count on Lily providing a safe and caring environment for Cochina, and that peace of mind is invaluable.
Lily was great! She took excellent care of my kitten and was very responsive with updates, pictures. I will definitely reach out to Lily again for future pet sitting.
This is my second time booking with Lily, and just like last time, Lily was so great with my cat. My cat is a little older and can be fussy, but Lily is always incredibly patient and understanding. Lily truly demonstrates love for what she does and I think it’s clear she shows as much care for her clients’ pets as she does her own.
We are very happy with Lily and her care of our new kitten Axle. She was very accommodating and understanding of his care and routine. The space she has set aside specifically for boarding and care is clean, welcoming, and perfectly adequate. She is super prepared for the care of kittens which we appreciate immensely. She provided many pictures and updates of our baby while we were away. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to anyone looking for affordable care of their furry feline family members. 10/10, 5 stars, ++. Thank you Lily for taking care of our baby!
