“Kushram and Family are a wonderful find for dog sitting or doggy day care. Give the initial booking request a bit of lead time, as the confirmation that the day/time works may take up to a day to come through. This time I put in a request 9:30pm on a Saturday, and got confirmation Sunday evening. (I suspect requests are processed daily). The initial booking request was the largest gap we experienced in communication, scheduling the meet and greet by messages was easy - they were very responsive and want to ensure you and your pup will be comfortable with their set up and go over any special needs of the dog. Our elder pup Rick was drawn to Kushram and the whole family even on the meet and greet (I think just his wife and adult nephew), as well the drop off day of, and they were able to make him comfortable enough to eat even on a short visit. Given our short booking (only about 3 hrs) we can't really comment on long term pictures/communication during the visit, but I can say I feel pretty happy that I found some place local where I feel comfortable leaving my dog when I need to go somewhere. They also have some experience with some dog special needs, but can help best when they know about it ahead of time. They were not concerned or put off in the slightest by our pups needs (mostly that he's pretty clingy, can get cold easily, and only has 3 teeth and will only eat small pieces of food, and doesn't love hanging out with other dogs), and described other dogs they had watched with similar or more challenging needs such as dog-sitting a blind dog in a new space. Growing up in a smaller home, I was never able to own a dog of my own, but being obsessed with animals, I wouldn't let this stop me from being around them an gaining as much experience as I could by taking care of pets for friends and family throughout my life. Eventually I started working at a local doggy daycare/ pet boarding facility in Walnut Creek known as, North Main Pet Lodge. I have about a year's worth of experience working professionally with a multitude of different dog breeds and taking care of their daily needs. I've worked with both dogs and cats, and other small animals such as hamsters, rabbits, and such and know how to administer medication, bathe, feed, and do other tasks related to pet care. Staying flexible and knowing how to deal with all sorts of situations is something I have come to be very acquainted with through my work experience. Communication is of big importance to me and making sure all pet parents stay informed throughout their stay away from their pets. Currently I am working on my finishing my degree online and no longer need to attend classes on campus.
