About: Hello! I'm Valentina! I have experience caring for pets of different ages and needs, including my 10 year old cat and my sister’s 4 year old dog. Most recently, I cared for a Giant Schnauzer puppy right through his crazy growth spurt, from the day he came home at 3 months old all the way until he was 7 months old! Working with a high energy, big pup takes a lot of patience, consistency, and structure, so I kept him on a solid daily routine with twice a day walks to burn off that puppy energy and practice good leash manners. I’m also a very active person and genuinely enjoy being outdoors, walking, and staying on the move, so I love being able to bring that energy and enthusiasm into caring for pets. I have a flexible schedule and I’m generally available for walks and drop-in visits in the morning from 7:30 to 9:30 AM and in the afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. I’m happy to be flexible and work around your pet’s routine whenever possible. A little advance notice is always appreciated so I can plan my day and make sure I can give your pup the time, care, and attention they deserve. I love caring for pets in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable and stick to their familiar routine. I find that pets tend to feel more relaxed and at ease in their own space, especially when their owners are away. I’m happy to follow their normal routine, whether that includes feeding, walks, playtime, or any special instructions, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away.

About: I grew up around lot's of golden retrievers (and other dog breeds too)! I love all animals but am most experienced with bigger, more active dogs. The golden retriever my family has now is vastly different from the golden I had growing up. Harper our first dog, adored people but displayed a lot of leash aggression around dogs she didn't know. Millie, our current dog, also loves people but wants to befriend any and all dogs she passes. Having lots of experience walking both of them, I know how drastically different dog personalities can be. With Harper I got very used to changing course on my walks to avoid other dogs and only letting her interact with dogs she knew and owners I trusted. Communicating with other dog owners while out on a walk is very important to me because every dog is different and sometimes interactions can be unpredictable. Regular exercise, mentally stimulating play/interaction, affection, attentive care, and proper training are very important aspects of having a pet. I love going on long walks and hikes, playing fetch in nearby parks, and genuinely enjoy looking after pets. I am also very passionate about cleaning up after dogs and leaving no trace. During a home visit, you can expect that I will feed and medicate your pet if necessary (I only have experience with oral meds), refill their water, let them out to use the bathroom, give them lots of cuddles, and play or walk them till they are tired out. I have lots of available time at the moment while taking a break from travel and would love to fill it looking after local pets! I have a fully fenced in backyard, a friendly and an energetic two-year-old golden named Millie who loves making new friends, and lots of experience with crate training.

About: I've had dogs and cats in my home and I’ve learned that every pet just wants love, attention, and belly rubs! My best friend is a vet tech, so I’m always learning fun tips and tricks to keep pets healthy and happy. Being the oldest sibling, I’ve had years of practice taking care of things (and loving it!). Your pet will be treated like family. I also have my own cat (though he doesn't stay with me right now), so I hope it sets your mind at ease knowing I'm also a pet mom myself :) I'm currently working full-time 8 AM - 5 PM, but I'm looking for any hours outside of that. If you are located anywhere in the DMV area (DC, Arlington, etc.) I have no problem commuting to find your pet for their evening walk. Additionally, I live in a pet-safe apartment in Ballston, VA and have no problem with taking in pets also. I have a 2 Bed, 2 Bath apartment. I currently don't have my cat with me, but will bring him in the next 6 months. Otherwise, the apartment does have a big living room space and I've bought a litter box for my own cat to have later. The apartment complex has a designated area for dogs and other pets to be walked. I will take time to get to know your pet and cater to them :)
