About: I grew up with five dogs, and have had at least one since. I've dogsat for neighbors countless times, and have enjoyed every second with their furry friends. Not counting my high school/childhood years, I've been dogsitting for 5 years. I currently work part-time and as a theater artist. I have the most time on Monday - Wednesday (full availability) with more limited time on Thurs - Sun. Most Thurs/Fri I'm available until about 4 pm. About: Honestly, I don't think I've gone more than a few months of my life without a pet around. I grew up with dogs and have since lived with and looked after dobermans, beagles, doodles, pointers, and pitbulls, amongst others, so a big, strong, or stubborn dog doesn't throw me off, and neither does a nervous first-timer. I've also lived with cats for years, so I speak fluent "aloof but secretly obsessed with you." Along the way I've picked up a lot of the extra care stuff almost by accident: giving meds on a schedule, handling a dog with leash reactivity, sticking to a strict routine for an anxious pet, being patient with a senior pet who needs a little more help getting around. I'm not saying I've seen it all, but I've seen a lot, and I actually enjoy the pets who need a bit more thought and attention. They're usually the most rewarding ones to work with. I'm currently a full-time master's student, and don't currently have other part-time work, but I will communicate if that changes in the future. I do have evening classes that are online except for one. Otherwise, I'm available to spend time with your fur babies. I like sitting in your pet's own home when that's an option. It just tends to be less stressful for them than a strange new place. Every pet's a little different, so I'm not going in with a fixed routine; I'd rather figure out what actually works for your dog or cat and stick to that. If your pet needs meds, has a quirk, or gets nervous easily, that's not a dealbreaker for me, if anything, tell me more, because I want to get it right.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about April. Our dog, Kenzie, and cat, Sukha have absolutely fallen in love with her. I have no doubt she treats them like they are her own while we were out of town. On top of taking great care of them, she is the ideal house guest. She always leaves the house in perfect condition. She is always very responsive, sends updates daily, and has gone above and beyond on more than one occasion to help with things around the house, accommodate last minute changes, etc. We completely trust April with our fur babies and our home.
Wonderful, amazing, and compassionate. And that barely even scratches the surface of describing Madalyn. A part of me wants to leave a horrible review to keep her to myself, but that would be a disservice to the animals of our community. Madalyn took the best care of my animals which included a senior dog, an anxious puppy, and a defiant cat, and handled each unique personality with care. I will use her again and again and again.
