“Meredith is the best! She stayed with our two dogs over Labor Day weekend and brought us so much peace of mind. She sent regular pictures and updates, took special care with our anxious pup, and left the house in better shape than she found it. Highly recommend her for any pup needs!”

“Brooke went above and beyond to care not only for our two dogs but for our plants and home while we were away. When our flights got changed at the last minute, Brooke was gracious and flexible. When our AC went out the last two days she was at our home, she found the coolest spot in the house to keep both herself and our dogs cool. Brooke communicated well and also sent pictures and videos of our dogs throughout our time away. When we got home, I could tell our dogs and our home had been well taken care of. We will be contacting Brooke again for future dog sitting needs! Thank you so much, Brooke!!!”

About: I have always had pets in the home. I have watched a lot of animals over the years & I even make sure the family comes back to a clean home. You wont even know I was there. I currently only work part time from 8 AM - 2 PM so there is plenty of time to play with the dogs/cats. I don't do much on the weekends so I would be at the house most of the time! I live with 2 dogs myself now & I love to cuddle with them & play. I currently do not watch dogs in my own home but would love to come to yours. This also helps so the dogs/cats are comfortable in their own space.
“Annabella, was great with our dogs. She's came to meet them before hand and she stayed awhile. They loved her. She sent pictures of them while she was visiting. We will hopefully be using her again.”

“Stacie was great with our pups. She provided regular updates and made sure Bella was as comfortable as possible during a heavy rain storm. Would definitely recommend Stacie.”

“Sarah is always reliable and this trip, even though she got extremely sick, she kept us in the loop and received support instead of leaving our very sick cat who needs a house sitter instead of just drop ins. It was very scary to be far away with no backups, but Sarah hung in there and took care of our baby despite how sick she was.”

About: Honestly, I don't think I've gone more than a few months of my life without a pet around. I grew up with dogs and have since lived with and looked after dobermans, beagles, doodles, pointers, and pitbulls, amongst others, so a big, strong, or stubborn dog doesn't throw me off, and neither does a nervous first-timer. I've also lived with cats for years, so I speak fluent "aloof but secretly obsessed with you." Along the way I've picked up a lot of the extra care stuff almost by accident: giving meds on a schedule, handling a dog with leash reactivity, sticking to a strict routine for an anxious pet, being patient with a senior pet who needs a little more help getting around. I'm not saying I've seen it all, but I've seen a lot, and I actually enjoy the pets who need a bit more thought and attention. They're usually the most rewarding ones to work with. I'm currently a full-time master's student, and don't currently have other part-time work, but I will communicate if that changes in the future. I do have evening classes that are online except for one. Otherwise, I'm available to spend time with your fur babies. I like sitting in your pet's own home when that's an option. It just tends to be less stressful for them than a strange new place. Every pet's a little different, so I'm not going in with a fixed routine; I'd rather figure out what actually works for your dog or cat and stick to that. If your pet needs meds, has a quirk, or gets nervous easily, that's not a dealbreaker for me, if anything, tell me more, because I want to get it right.
“Tara is super with animals! We have never left our dog home alone for an extended period with anyone! But we decided our day trip was too lengthy for our dog so being new to Rover I wasn’t sure at all!! Seriously went on a chose her by her reviews! We are so glad I did. We did a meet and greet and he fell in love with Ms. Tara and on our day trip we knew he would be taken excellent care of. She will sends pics of your pet thru out the day as well. Thanks Tara”

About: As a life long animal lover, I have many years of experience with both dogs and cats of all breeds, shapes and sizes. I can provide the best individual care specific to your dog, no matter what that may be. I like to be active and would enjoy playing with furry friends whenever I can. I also have tons of experience with the quieter ones who just like to lounge around all day. No difference to me, it’s whatever your fur baby prefers. I currently care for my 6 year old orange tabby Luna, so I understand the trust it takes to rely on someone else to care for your furry best friend. Rest assured in knowing I would treat your pet as if it were my own! I currently care for my 6 year old orange tabby Luna. I am available every day of the week with very flexible hours. Please feel free to ask me anything! I am currently self employed and working from home every day of the week so my schedule is very flexible. I can accommodate most needs! In my home currently there is an 8 year old small shih tzu mix and 6 year old orange tabby who get along well with most other animals and would love to meet your furry friend. I provide a fenced in large yard with plenty of room to play.
“Matthew did a wonderful job sitting with my two dogs while I was away. He sent updates and photos and was very responsive and the dogs loved him! I highly recommend you hire Matt for any sitting needs.”

“Brittany was fantastic, we couldn't have wished for anyone better! It's obvious she's a true dog lover and they all loved her right away. She was so flexible, even when we ended up with 5 dogs at the house! She didn't blink an eye and handled all of them expertly. And as an added bonus, my house was even cleaner when I got home than when I left, which was wonderful because we had company coming over the next day. We'll definitely book with Brittany again!”

“Lilla did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 Huskies and watching the house. Great communication! We were able to get out and enjoy the 4th of July knowing our dogs were well cared for. Will definitely be using her again”

“Claire was great with our two pups. She was very communicative and responsive and took great care of our dogs, including our senior who needed extra attention. We would definitely recommend her!”

After meeting Shelly for the first time I had a great deal of confidence in leaving my home and my precious baby boy in her hands! She has loaded me up with great photos and videos while I've been away and taken excellent care of everything in this sweltering heat. He looks very relaxed and content in the photos she is sending and I'm so grateful to have met Shelly.

Chloe was amazing with Harley during her stay! She took great care of her and made sure Harley was comfortable and well looked after. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates that gave me peace of mind. I would definitely book with Chloe again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hendersonville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hendersonville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hendersonville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
