“I enjoyed Tiera looking after Diamond , She followed the minor instructions in caring for my Princess, She’s a wonderful sitter I know Diamond was pleased with her as well ….. Thank you so Much 😍”

“Meredith is the best! She stayed with our two dogs over Labor Day weekend and brought us so much peace of mind. She sent regular pictures and updates, took special care with our anxious pup, and left the house in better shape than she found it. Highly recommend her for any pup needs!”

“My fur babies love Sophie! She was very communicative from the very beginning and we did not worry about our fur babies at all while we were away. We loved all the updates and seeing how happy they were! We also came home to a clean house and happy watered plants! I hope Sophie is available for all our trips! :)”

“Denver was great, and we will definitely be reaching out to him in the future. He took pictures, gave updates, and made sure the dogs weren’t chewing up anything they weren’t supposed to. When we got home, the dogs were all relaxed and happy. Thank you, Denver!”

“Austin was an amazing dog sitter! He kept us up to date with pictures and summaries of his visit, came at the times he discussed with us, and our dogs loved him! It was great to have Austin keep our dogs happy on our trip, he helped so much! Thanks Austin!”

“Great person to work with. Took great care of Potato and gave great updates throughout the week. Aside from this took great care in leaving my apartment as clean as I left it 😁. Thanks again! Would recommend.”

“Elyssa is awesome! Her background and experience was what caught our attention, but she really was wonderful while she stayed at our house with our pup. She went above and beyond to keep the house in order and keep our little one happy. We will definitely use her again and encourage others to do the same.”

About: Honestly, I don't think I've gone more than a few months of my life without a pet around. I grew up with dogs and have since lived with and looked after dobermans, beagles, doodles, pointers, and pitbulls, amongst others, so a big, strong, or stubborn dog doesn't throw me off, and neither does a nervous first-timer. I've also lived with cats for years, so I speak fluent "aloof but secretly obsessed with you." Along the way I've picked up a lot of the extra care stuff almost by accident: giving meds on a schedule, handling a dog with leash reactivity, sticking to a strict routine for an anxious pet, being patient with a senior pet who needs a little more help getting around. I'm not saying I've seen it all, but I've seen a lot, and I actually enjoy the pets who need a bit more thought and attention. They're usually the most rewarding ones to work with. I'm currently a full-time master's student, and don't currently have other part-time work, but I will communicate if that changes in the future. I do have evening classes that are online except for one. Otherwise, I'm available to spend time with your fur babies. I like sitting in your pet's own home when that's an option. It just tends to be less stressful for them than a strange new place. Every pet's a little different, so I'm not going in with a fixed routine; I'd rather figure out what actually works for your dog or cat and stick to that. If your pet needs meds, has a quirk, or gets nervous easily, that's not a dealbreaker for me, if anything, tell me more, because I want to get it right.

“Brittany is such a wonderful lady and our furbabies fell in love with her almost immediately. She house sat with our 2 English Bulldogs and Tabby Cat, while we were out of the country. We never worried about a thing while we were gone. She sent us timely updates and photos, which was so helpful for peace of mind with our Senior Bulldog. She was very attentive with our requests and carried out the special care with no problems at all. We highly recommend her services and will certainly have her sit with our furbabies again.”
“Thank you Dana for doing such a great job with our two dogs and cat. You house sat for us for three nights and four days. The dogs were extremely happy with the way you played ball with them and let our sweet baby Ren sleep in bed with you we went away out of state to our daughters graduation and you made the experience so comfortable by always responding and sending pictures of the babies while we were gone. I can see why you’re booked out for so long. We will definitely use you again in the future if we’re able to get into your busy calendar. But I understand why you’re so busy thank you so much.”

“Madelyn was communicative, giving daily updates about River while I was gone. She took her on lots of walks and it seems my dog really got comfortable with her and cuddled a lot. I also came home to a clean house and she was respectful of my space while she was there! I am excited to use Madelyn again in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats and have personally owned big dogs throughout my adult life! I can offer decent availability and on short notice! I’ve always loved animals especially dogs and cats and have experience with different sizes and breeds of dogs. I’ve had 3 huskies for 4 years now so I’m no stranger to big energized fur-babies! It’s my goal to offer services that cause the least amount of disruptions to your pets lives! I can do a drop in visit, pet sitting, or a walk anytime Monday through Friday! and my availability is completely open on the weekends! Before a visit with your pet I would like to get to know your routine for them so I can make your pet feel as safe as possible. If it’s a drop in visit I will be very respectful of your space and make sure everything is left exactly how it was before I got there! I would love to know of any allergies or unique circumstances before arrival!
“Erin was a wonderful house+dog sitter and I would certainly book again. She had an immediate rapport with my somewhat selective, fear-reactive pittie mix. The attentiveness, presence and communication (including some photos) were exceptional throughout the long weekend. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for dogsitting.”

About: I have always grown up with dogs around and in first grade, I got my first cat. My dad worked at pet smart and my mom was a dog groomer, I have grown up with an affinity for caring for pets. Throughout my childhood we took in senior dogs and it’s something I consider myself to specialize in. I have been house sitting and pet sitting since I was 14. I currently work full time from Saturday to Wednesday. My workdays typically last from 8am to 4:30-5:00pm. Thursday and Friday are my days off and I am fully free on those days. My workday hours should be considered if your pet requires frequent bathroom breaks, walks, and medication. I have experience with all types of dogs and cats. I have cared for senior dogs and cats, pets that require medication, and special needs pets. I love walking dogs and I am happy to chill out with your cat.
“Our pups had a safe and fun week with Shelby. She made sure they were fed, exercised and got lots of love and cuddle time. Our youngest pup who is still pretty shy with new people warmed up to Shelby very quickly.”

“Cashmere was a great fit for my big dog and our family. She came by ahead of time to meet our pup and get comfortable with his routine and her surroundings which was great. I received pictures and updates throughout our trip and she did a good job of pivoting in the crazy heat to play more n the backyard vs take him on longer walks which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend her without hesitation.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Joelton
Alesha took very good care of our pups and our house while we were out of town for the holidays. She even made sure to run the dishwasher and put the guest bed sheets in the wash for us, which we appreciated! She also regularly provided updates and videos, and took the boys out on daily walks. They seemed to love her! There was a misunderstanding around what time to show up on the first morning (second day), leaving our boys home alone longer than they should have been, but all was good after that. This did cause a bit of a stressful scramble for us trying to find someone else to possibly fill in during that time which we were unable to do. Only reason for the 4 star. I know time gets lost around the holidays, and I would still recommend Alesha and will use her in the future.

I absolutely could not have picked a better sitter! Alesha took care of my cats and my house for a week while I was out of the country. She respected my property and was extremely communicative, and really set my mind at ease. She went above and beyond what I expected in every way, did my laundry, cleaned out and organized my fridges, scrubbed out my filthy kitchen sink so it shines! My cats were sick when she came and one of them had lost weight. I came back to healthy cats and that one has obviously gained weight. My cats loved her judging from the pics she sent me. If you want the best, hire Alesha!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Joelton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Joelton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Joelton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
