“If I could give 10 stars I would ! Jacob was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anything more. He had a tough job and we almost cancelled a family reunion we had been planning for months. Our Bernese Mountain dog tore her ACL 2 weeks before we were set to go. She had surgery one week before we left. She had to have a lot of attention. And she got the best care from Jacob. Our Bernese had to have medication 3x a day, PT exercises 2x a day and had to wear the Cone of Shame :-( .. And she had to have her surgical sight cleaned, check and medicated everyday. She had to wear a sleeve on her leg and have it adjusted just right so it wasn't too tight or too loose. Jacob also had to take care of our old finicky cat and water indoor and outdoor plants. Like I said , we couldn't have had a better person to handle all of this than Jacob. He would lay on the floor with her and give her belly rubs several times a day and hold and carry around our cat, who is very particular of who can even touch him. We highly recommend Jacob to house sit, walk your dogs, take care of your pets etc. He was GREAT !”

“Jess was great! She came and did a meet and greet prior to staying with my girls. She sent me photos of them all, she even took care of my little piper when she was sick from eating something she should not have ate! 10/10 recommend”

“We just moved to Grand Junction, so finding a new sitter is always a little nerve-racking. Karen is amazing. About five days before our trip, our dog came into heat and she handled it like a pro. Our cat is a bit mischievous, and she also took that in stride with lots of laughs. I will most definitely rebook her for any travel I have to do at anytime I need a dog Walker as she is so wonderful with my animals.”

“Kaya was an amazing dog sitter and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She took such great care of our dog and kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that Kaya genuinely cares about animals and made sure our dog felt comfortable, happy, and loved. She was reliable, kind, and easy to communicate with. We would absolutely trust her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful pet sitter!”

“Emily was awesome! We could tell that Bella was happy and well taken care of. We appreciated all the pictures and correspondence while Emily was with Bella. We will definitely ask Emily to come back and stay with Bella the next we travel. Thanks Emily!!!”
“Trinity is such a joy to work with, and our dogs love her. We received regular updates during her stay, along with photos, which is always nice. We needed someone with short notice and got so lucky to find Trinity! We will use her again in the future.”
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life. I’ve been providing personal pet care for the past two years. I get along with dogs of all ages and breeds. I can keep up with any energy level your fur baby has. I currently only have my schedule on Rover filling my time so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets needs and give them the playtime and/or walks they need daily. I will follow and maintain daily medication and feeding schedules of any complexity. I will follow all instructions given to ensure your furry friend gets the care they need. I just need to know what they can and can’t do and will make sure they are on their best behavior while I care for them.
“Stacy was exceptional- I’m so very grateful for her wonderful care of my dog! She is an excellent communicator and gives regular updates, and took fantastic care of Buckley!”

“Deannica was great. We booked her for a full week for our two dogs. She texted every day with updates and left our house cleaner than it was when we left. We will for sure be using her in the future.”

“Binnie is the best! All the great things you typically look for in a Rover booking: communicative, kind, timely, all that good stuff, but plus just a cool friendly person that you'll be happy to meet and leave your animals with!”

About: I have 8 years of pet care experience including volunteering at two animal sanctuaries. I also have my own cat Mugiwara who I love so very much and look after with absolute devotion. During the day, I work as a Registered Behavior Technician with a young client with autism, using ABA therapy to enhance their lifeskills. I am also currently interning at a company that provides counseling services to the Grand Valley area while I study for my Master's of Social Work. I am naturally drawn to caregiving and the advocacy of people and animals of all ages. I work full days doing ABA on Mondays and Fridays with half days in the morning on Wednesdays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I block out time for internship duties but I always block out more time than I need so I can stop in and care for your pet :) On weekends I study which is also very flexible. I pride myself at being well-versed at reading body language and communication of all kinds.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mack
Candace did an amazing job housesitting for us while we were out of town for a week for our son’s wedding. She took great care of our dog and two cats and kept us updated with photos and videos. Our dog had some teeth pulled a few days before our trip, and she made sure he had his soft diet and pain medication as outlined in our instructions. We came home to a clean house and happy critters. I highly recommend Candace and will definitely reach out to her again for our pet sitting needs!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mack walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mack maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mack choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mack. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
