“If I could give 10 stars I would ! Jacob was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anything more. He had a tough job and we almost cancelled a family reunion we had been planning for months. Our Bernese Mountain dog tore her ACL 2 weeks before we were set to go. She had surgery one week before we left. She had to have a lot of attention. And she got the best care from Jacob. Our Bernese had to have medication 3x a day, PT exercises 2x a day and had to wear the Cone of Shame :-( .. And she had to have her surgical sight cleaned, check and medicated everyday. She had to wear a sleeve on her leg and have it adjusted just right so it wasn't too tight or too loose. Jacob also had to take care of our old finicky cat and water indoor and outdoor plants. Like I said , we couldn't have had a better person to handle all of this than Jacob. He would lay on the floor with her and give her belly rubs several times a day and hold and carry around our cat, who is very particular of who can even touch him. We highly recommend Jacob to house sit, walk your dogs, take care of your pets etc. He was GREAT !”

“Aubrey was fantastic while house sitting for us. We have a high-energy mini Aussie, and she handled her with ease and care. She kept us consistently updated, communicated clearly, and sent photos, which we really appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog and home were in such good hands. We highly recommend her—thanks again, Aubrey!”

I have a big yard for my dogs and have had smaller yards for them as well. whatever your dogs needs are i can figure it out :)

“Jess was great! She came and did a meet and greet prior to staying with my girls. She sent me photos of them all, she even took care of my little piper when she was sick from eating something she should not have ate! 10/10 recommend”

“We just moved to Grand Junction, so finding a new sitter is always a little nerve-racking. Karen is amazing. About five days before our trip, our dog came into heat and she handled it like a pro. Our cat is a bit mischievous, and she also took that in stride with lots of laughs. I will most definitely rebook her for any travel I have to do at anytime I need a dog Walker as she is so wonderful with my animals.”

“Eleshia was absolutely wonderful. She did everything we asked her to do and then some. She sent pictures. Her Communication skills were awesome. Would highly recommend her to watch your dog.”

About: Hi, I'm Ash. Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I currently care for two dogs of my own and have experience with dogs of different ages, personalities, energy levels, and routines. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care. My goal is to keep things as consistent, calm, and low-stress as possible while you're away. Whether your dog needs a quiet companion, playtime, walks, medication, or simply someone who pays close attention to their needs, I'm happy to adapt to what makes them most comfortable. I'm reliable, communicative, and detail-oriented. I provide updates so you always know how your pet is doing, and I take the time to learn their routine, preferences, and personality instead of treating every dog the same. I genuinely enjoy caring for animals, and I treat every pet with the same patience, kindness, and respect I give my own. I currently work part-time and offer dog walking and drop-in visits during weekday mornings until 10:30 AM. Evening availability is offered Monday from 3:00–6:30 PM and Friday from 3:00–8:00 PM. My weekends are more flexible, and I do my best to accommodate both planned bookings and last-minute requests whenever possible. For house sitting, I can accommodate many schedules but cannot provide full-time weekday presence due to work commitments. I am happy to discuss your pet's specific needs to make sure we're a good fit. I prioritize keeping your pet’s routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I pay attention to behavior, environment, and any specific instructions you provide to make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable. In your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s established routine closely. I also communicate clearly and provide updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life. I’ve been providing personal pet care for the past two years. I get along with dogs of all ages and breeds. I can keep up with any energy level your fur baby has. I currently only have my schedule on Rover filling my time so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets needs and give them the playtime and/or walks they need daily. I will follow and maintain daily medication and feeding schedules of any complexity. I will follow all instructions given to ensure your furry friend gets the care they need. I just need to know what they can and can’t do and will make sure they are on their best behavior while I care for them.
“We were very happy with Paul taking care of our dog while we were out of town. He was reliable and we could reach him by phone for any questions or updates we wanted. We hope to use him again if he’s available.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 10, I have watched all sorts of dogs, from family to friends to coworkers, and neighbors even:) I’m currently working for a second job but I always make sure that my animal care come first, I try to reason with my clients if change happens. I always try to make sure my dogs and cats stay occupied with toys and treats and walks making sure that they are always fed 2 time a day
About: I’ve had dog & cat experience my whole life and have enjoyed helping neighbors and family friends to walk and take care of their little furry family members. I also have experience with much larger animals, such as horses, and worked at an equestrian facility. I have a few companions of my own and they have become my whole world! I’m currently enrolled in my senior year at CMU, studying forensic psychology. With all of my classes being in the mornings, I have plenty of time to take care of your sweet pets! I am available for any sort of care on weekdays after 1 and all day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. My house is full with a dog and two kitties so I am unable to provide any boarding services at the moment but I am fully willing to commute and take care of your pets at your home!
“Deannica was great. We booked her for a full week for our two dogs. She texted every day with updates and left our house cleaner than it was when we left. We will for sure be using her in the future.”

“Trinity is such a joy to work with, and our dogs love her. We received regular updates during her stay, along with photos, which is always nice. We needed someone with short notice and got so lucky to find Trinity! We will use her again in the future.”
About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12, growing up in Mississippi with all kinds of dogs! I grew up on a farm. I've cared for many dogs ranging from puppy to senior. My last senior dog was back in 2022, the love of my life. His name was Oreo, he was around 14 when he passed. He was a rescue from our local humane society. He required multiple different medications due to his age. My current dog, she is 8 months old. I have trained her basic commands such as Sit, Stay, Speak, Jump, Spin and a few more. I work full-time as a Respiratory Therapist, so I kindly ask for a few days’ notice when booking but when I’m off, your fur baby is my top priority! I have a 8 month old standard poodle at home, her name is Cherry. She is a very sweet and playful dog! She loves to play with others and is very well behaved. If you decided to stay here at my house, I do ask for a meet up to just insure safety between our pups! If I come to your home, I will not bring Cherry with me, unless you ask.
“Stacy was exceptional- I’m so very grateful for her wonderful care of my dog! She is an excellent communicator and gives regular updates, and took fantastic care of Buckley!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 184 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Loma. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Loma walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Loma maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Loma choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Loma. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
