“Vivian was the perfect match for our dogs/fish sitting needs! We've been looking for quite some time to find someone that we felt comfortable with! And our Leila loved her! We'll definitely be asking her back!”

“Jess was great! She came and did a meet and greet prior to staying with my girls. She sent me photos of them all, she even took care of my little piper when she was sick from eating something she should not have ate! 10/10 recommend”

“Aubrey is phenomenal and so kind. She responded to our vacation problems when our pup couldn’t calm down in our VrBO - she worked with me to figure out the best path for our dog and then showed her so much love. THANK YOU AUBREY!”

“We just moved to Grand Junction, so finding a new sitter is always a little nerve-racking. Karen is amazing. About five days before our trip, our dog came into heat and she handled it like a pro. Our cat is a bit mischievous, and she also took that in stride with lots of laughs. I will most definitely rebook her for any travel I have to do at anytime I need a dog Walker as she is so wonderful with my animals.”

“This was my first time using Rover due to some changing circumstances with my pet sitting situation. Lainya could not have been a better sitter for me. She was so easy to work with, especially when I wanted my dogs to get used to a new person coming into the house. I was out of the country and she kept me updated on how things were going and at no time during my vacation was I worried about what was going on back home. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Misty was so caring and patient with our kids... especially one in particular who was all in her feelings over a scary ceiling fan and the general disruption of the parents being away. We know it was a lot to accomodate such a nervous pup but she did it with such grace it really put our minds at ease to know she was with them. We came back to a very clean house and well cared for pets. We would not hesitate to reach out to her again to take care of our crew and neither should you!”

“We very much appreciated Robin’s attentive care for our cat and dog. She was reliable and responsive and followed all instructions. We are looking forward to utilizing her services in the future.”

“Ariel is thoughtful, she took the time to ask great questions about Molly to understand her care needs. I was able to feel safe leaving Molly in good hands. I trusted Ariel in my home. She played with Molly and made sure she was entertained. Ariel was awesome to send me picture updates to let me know things were going well. Grateful!”

“Erin was great! Very communicative and took great care of my dog! She was quickly able to establish trust with my skittish dog and kept me updated on how she was doing throughout her stay. Erin stayed in my home as well and was super responsible and respectful of our home.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12, growing up in Mississippi with all kinds of dogs! I grew up on a farm. I've cared for many dogs ranging from puppy to senior. My last senior dog was back in 2022, the love of my life. His name was Oreo, he was around 14 when he passed. He was a rescue from our local humane society. He required multiple different medications due to his age. My current dog, she is 8 months old. I have trained her basic commands such as Sit, Stay, Speak, Jump, Spin and a few more. I work full-time as a Respiratory Therapist, so I kindly ask for a few days’ notice when booking but when I’m off, your fur baby is my top priority! I have a 8 month old standard poodle at home, her name is Cherry. She is a very sweet and playful dog! She loves to play with others and is very well behaved. If you decided to stay here at my house, I do ask for a meet up to just insure safety between our pups! If I come to your home, I will not bring Cherry with me, unless you ask.
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life. I’ve been providing personal pet care for the past two years. I get along with dogs of all ages and breeds. I can keep up with any energy level your fur baby has. I currently only have my schedule on Rover filling my time so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets needs and give them the playtime and/or walks they need daily. I will follow and maintain daily medication and feeding schedules of any complexity. I will follow all instructions given to ensure your furry friend gets the care they need. I just need to know what they can and can’t do and will make sure they are on their best behavior while I care for them.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life! I most recently had two dogs, a chihuahua and rotty mix. One big and one small dog! I currently live in a tiny apartment, so I try to find ways to get my dog fix in. I regularly volunteer to walk dogs at local shelters here in Grand Junction. I have experience with small and large dogs of all age ranges. I’m punctual with my schedules and can be relied on to make timely visits or give medications/food. I’m also comfortable house sitting your home and keeping up on all your chores/needs while you are away! I work seasonally for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, so in my off season I have lots of extra time to take care of pups I have a gentle demeanor when meeting/walking new to me dogs. I can adjust my care to suit whatever needs your dog may have

About: I've been taking care of pets for most of my life. I worked at a doggie daycare & boarding business for a couple of years. I'm now going out on my own and would love to take care of your fur babies while you're out. I've been around all breeds and sizes and understand their many different traits and personalities. I love playtime and walking. It is as much fun for me as it is for them. I've administered meds and worked specifically with dogs that needed specialized medical attention. Communication is important to me, as it is to you, so please let me know what you expect. No detail is too small. I can provide updates and photos if you request it; otherwise, I will not take up any of your time while you're away unless a concern arises. I love snuggles and look forward to making your fur babies feel as comfortable and happy as possible. Taking care of animals is just part of my everyday life! I have two dogs of my own, so I’m used to walks, playtime, feeding, and keeping a good routine. I love being around animals and easily fit pet care into my day. I try to keep things as close to the pet’s normal routine as possible. I follow instructions carefully, give lots of love and attention, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also send updates so owners know their pets are doing great!
“Elishia was great! Sent updates with pictures and took extra care of our fur baby that had an upset stomach. Our dog can be a bit shy with people he doesn't know, and he liked her immediately.”

“Deannica was great. We booked her for a full week for our two dogs. She texted every day with updates and left our house cleaner than it was when we left. We will for sure be using her in the future.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Appleton is $40

Abbey did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs for the week! She was super understanding with our shy girl, and was able to make her feel comfortable and cared for during the stay. We appreciate Abbey so much and highly recommend her to take care of your pets!

This was the first time we used Jack for our Rottweiler and cat. He stayed in our home. Our pets were very happy when we returned - it was obvious that they had been lovingly cared for. The home was left spotless! We received updated & pictures throughout the stay. Will definitely use him again!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Appleton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Appleton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Appleton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
