“Jerrie and Simon were great! We are always very selective when it comes to finding a sitter for Beans. However, their reviews gave us peace of mind. I was able to receive updates throughout the day, which I appreciated. Beans also made a friend and was given a walk. We will definitely book again.”

“Wonderful sitter for my dog. Provided us with updates on how out dog was doing and provided us with pictures and videos. Our dog loved Joy and we will definitely use her services again!”

“My dog is very timid and skittish from a rescue, but he immediately became friendly with Beatrice and her dog, Bourbon, at Meet and Greet time. That was surprising to me and I got a feeling she would be good fit to my dog. My instinct was right. Beatrice was very understanding for my dog’s needs and my concerns. He was fine all day long with her and her dog, and I think he had a great time being away from his mom for the first time.”

“Stefeney was so attentive and very reliable and super responsive before during and after the dog sitting visit for our dog Basha. She kept us updated and reassured us that she would try her best to keep him happy and comfortable during his first time away from the family. Would 100% recommend her as a dog sitter and will be using her in the future whenever needed.”

“This was a great local option for a doggy daycare. I received numerous videos and photos of my little pup playing and cuddling throughout the day and felt very at ease that she was well taken care of while I was away. I would recommend and will happily book again if I am out for the day. I especially appreciated the flexibility on drop-off time as I had to leave very early in the morning. When I picked up Bailey she was very happy and tuckered out from playing with her new friends!”

“I was at a workshop and needed last minute care for my dog. I’m so glad and grateful I found Wen . She’s took great care of my Yorkie. She sent me pictures and videos. She’s very friendly and caring. I’m so glad that I found her. I really appreciate the care she gave my dog.”

“Emily was an excellent dog sitting for Kenya. Never had one before and Kenya immediately jump on her like she knows her before. Very professionally, I would use her again. Although, it is little far from us but I think important here is the relation between the dog and the sitter. She knows how to take care of her. thanks Emily”

“Arely was sensational! She stayed on top of everything with clear and constant communication throughout the entire stay. I felt my girls were safe, happy, and very well cared for with her. I received pictures of dinner time, Ginger playing nonstop, relaxing on the sofa and bed with friends, and having an amazing play day. It truly looked like they had the best time. I highly recommend her services. She has a beautiful, clean, and open space for them to play, and her furry babies are absolutely amazing as well. 10/10 — thank you so much!”

“Benji stayed for a doggie day care with Samantha. We wanted Benji to get use to Sam, Odin, and the new surround where he’d be in case we need Sam for future stays. Sam updated us with Benji ( behavior, number of poops and pee, etc) she even brushed out Benji’s undercoat! :) Thanks Sam, Benji enjoyed his day with you and Odin!”

“Working with May was an absolute pleasure! She watched our dog, Sonny, for three days of daycare and provided a fantastic experience from start to finish. May's communication was outstanding; she was highly responsive and sent us tons of adorable pictures and videos, which gave us peace of mind and made us feel like we were right there with Sonny. About: As a retired breeder of Yorkshire terrier‘s, I am fairly knowledgeable about small breed issues, anxieties and special needs. I can administer medication and injections to care for sick pets and I take the responsibility of caring for your babies, very seriously. I am mature and very experienced, so I take no chances with your loved ones. I handle small breed dogs and cats ONLY because I have to be able to lift them if they are not well. Above all else, I love animals...always have. You make a choice in life to do what you love and I love what I do.💗 I am happy to answer all your questions and offer a free meet and greet, prior to the date of service. I am looking forward to hearing from you and giving your little ones the best care possible.🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 A couple of things that are important to know about me. Whether I am providing care in your home or mine, my attention is on your babies. I am now providing boarding and day care in my home. This is not for working parents who need to drop the babies off 5 days a week. This is for vacations for up to several weeks, but not permanent. It is also for day care on the occasion that you need to drop off the babies during a special event. I also will only board one family at a time. When I provide overnight pet care, daily pet care or drop in visits, there’s no one that comes with me, it’s just me and my Yorkies (for overnight care only). When I come to spend the night at your home, my 2 Yorkies, come with me. Obviously, it wouldn’t make sense for me to pay a pet sitter to come to my home to pet sit in your home. There are pictures on my profile of them. They are very well behaved and very used to the routine All of my clients have always accepted this policy with housesitting. When it comes to walks or drop in visits, I come alone. It’s very easy for me to leave the little ones for short periods of time to do drop in visits. When it comes to cats, most cats don’t like dogs, so I don’t do overnights for kitty’s, but I do offer (at the same rate as the housesitting), four hours in the morning from 6 AM to 10 AM and a return at 4 PM to 8 PM. I don’t spend the night because as I said, cats normally don’t like little dogs, so I do provide that as a replacement for overnight, pet care (house sitting). My kitty clients are very happy with this schedule. I believe, in most cases, dogs and cats are happiest in their own home. If your dog has any type of anxiety or is not well socialized with other dogs, it can be very stressful to be in an environment of several dogs, if your dog is not used to that setting. For the timid or anxious dog, it's best for them to stick with their regular routine, changing very little and staying in their own safe place. I feel better about coming to your home for drop in visits or overnight care. I am good about getting the schedule down and keeping to that schedule. I believe wholeheartedly, they do much better that way. I devote a great percentage of my time to Pet Care. I book up in advance, so it's a good idea to book your vacations or events, well in advance. I will go further than 5 miles for drop in visits or house sitting, with an additional mileage fee. We all know how expensive gas is, and it has played a big part in our expenses. I stay at the owners home every day and night. I do have to leave for short periods to run errands or buy groceries, during my stay but I am at your home for the duration of your vacation. My priority in pet care is to keep your pets on their regular routines. That is the most important thing to keep them calm. RED CROSS CERTIFIED IN FIRST AID & COR FOR DOGS & CATS. (See photo’s in Photo Section) I have 3 yorkies and they have a fenced back yard with a doggie door but even with a doggie door, I am present with them. I watch to make sure they go potty and to be observant of their bowel movements, etc. There are big birds and coyotes to watch out for, so I don’t let them outside by themselves. Dogs are famous for putting things in their mouth while outside. I believe they need to be watched. I walk my dogs with a covered stroller because of big dogs running around unleashed. We've been chased by big dogs and attacked, so they are in the stroller a lot. I watch the little dogs I care for, like my own.
“This is Popo’s 1st time staying w/ Kyle and his family, and they were very accommodating. We arranged a meet & greet prior to the actual date and it was a hit. Their home is very clean & dog friendly. Popo really enjoyed his time at Kyle’s. We received good amount of photos during Popo’s stay and that is very reassuring. We’ll definitely be a repeat customer.👍🏼”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Los Serranos
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Yuliia and her family! From the very first interaction, they were kind, professional, and incredibly attentive. Auggie was clearly comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time, which gave us such peace of mind. We loved the frequent updates, photos, videos and thoughtful check-ins, it was obvious how much genuine care and affection they have for animals. Auggie came home relaxed, well-exercised, and clearly loved, which says everything. If you are looking for someone reliable, communicative, and truly exceptional, this is the sitter you want. We would trust them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without hesitation. Thank you for taking such amazing care of our furry family member!

I can not say enough great things about Brennan M., and the incredible care he provided for our puppy, Choppy. From the moment we met, it was clear that Brennan genuinely loves animals and treats them like his own. Choppy immediately felt comfortable around him, which gave me so much peace of mind as a new puppy parent. Every day, Brennan ensured Choppy was not only safe and well cared for, but also stimulated, socialized, and happy. I loved getting updates and photos of their adventures together whether it was playtime in the yard, nap time, or learning new tricks, Brennan made every moment count. His attention to detail, patience, and calm energy helped Choppy build confidence and feel secure. It's not easy to find someone you can trust completely with your fur baby, but Brennan exceeded every expectation. I highly recommend his daycare to anyone looking for a nurturing, responsible, and fun environment for their pet. Thank you, Brennan, for being such a big part of Choppy's early days. We are so grateful!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
