During my summer break from veterinary school I’m pet sitting to earn some extra income while continuing to do what I love—working with animals. Before starting veterinary school, I spent the last 4 years, as a veterinary technician, where I gained hands-on experience with animals of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. Prior to working in clinics, I also volunteered at animal shelters, helping care for dogs and cats. I currently have three family dogs: Kiki, a Yorkie Pug with anxiety; Lucy, a very shy rat terrier mix; and Saturn, a high-energy husky who loves pulling on walks. He is trained well to be kind around others, wait for food and potty trained.

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs my whole life. currently i have both a cat and dog at home who are house trained! If a dog- i take them out every 2 hours to go to the bathroom and at least 1 walk. if a cat, i always empty their litter every day and play with them. i will also give any meds as necessary In the clients home i will gladly clean after the pets and make sure they get their meds. i can also take them on walks in the neighborhood.

Weekly I am not too busy and barely have any unexpected surprises, especially on the weekends where I’m completely free. For my pets I care for, I always walk them during the breakfast, lunch, and dinner windows making sure they go potty and eat/snack for their part of the day. For clients, I always take photos on my walk and update whether they went restroom or even ate their food.

About: Caring for pets is not new to me; family members, friends, and neighbors rely on me to watch over their furry loved ones ranging from Rottweiler to Corgi! After recently losing my own dog after 16 years of loving him, I want to demonstrate and show the same level of love, comfort, and care to your own furry loved one! After being accepted into a doctorate program starting this summer and recently finishing the needed pre reqs, I have the time to care for dogs and cats! My schedule is flexible and open for opportunity! In my home I typically kept my small dog inside because of coyotes in my area. This allowed me to be more aware of my surroundings walking my dog. In my family, I would usually walk my dog and we were fortunate enough to have a dog park relatively close to our home:) that way my dog was able to interact with other dogs consistently and build relationships and comfortability with new dogs.
