“I was skeptical to use Rover, but I had to make last-minute travel plans and my regular pet sitter was unavailable so I decided to give it a try. I was also afraid that nobody was going to want to take care of my eight dogs (mostly senior and special needs) and one cat. I contacted Amber and described all of my pets and their special needs, and she was up for the challenge. She even shared pictures and stories of her own babies to make me feel more at ease. Leaving six dogs over the age of 12, two special needs Frenchies (one deaf and one paralyzed), and one 17-year-old cat in the care of a stranger was very difficult for me to do. Upon meeting Amber, however, I was quickly put at ease. My animals immediately took to her and I could tell she was a kind, calm, gentle soul, which made leaving them easier. Amber handled all of my babies with extreme care and even read and followed my many, many pages of instructions. When she had questions, she texted or called me just like I asked. She took on the challenge of my paralyzed Frenchie like a pro - and it's not an easy job. She had to express her bladder every several hours, change her diaper, give her baths, carry her around, and give her lots of snuggles! She administered medications to my animals and gave them the various types of different food they eat. I came home to a happy, healthy crew of animals - and a new friend! I'm so happy I chose Amber and that she "chose" us. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again!”

About: I watch Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer) & Victoria Stilwell (It's Me or The Dog) regularly, which has provided with me insight for caring for my family's pets (Shiba Inu, shih-tzu), my coworkers' pets (lab mixes, terrier mix), and now my own dachsund-pitbull I work in the entertainment industry, so I have stretches of time between gigs to focus 100% on beloved animals. With enough heads up, I can possibly make any time work. I love to reward the good behavior I notice, and have a calm demeanor to handle any behavior of which I disapprove. I'm great at reinforcing good habits and discouraging bad habits. I have lots of energy to play and engage with energetic dogs. I love to see dogs happy! My most favorite thing in the world is seeing a dog's ears and tongue flapping in the wind wide-eyed with its hind legs kicking at his shoulders in high speed sprinting down the sidewalk or through a grassy field. When I drop in, my focus is on the dog's need for attention and care as well as ensuring the place is still hygienic. When I walk, my focus is on the dog's need to release energy (among other things) and stay cool as well as keeping the environment evidence-free. When I house sit, my focus is on command pop-quizzes and finding a spot that's the most cuddle-friendly.

“If you are looking for a sitter who can handle a literal zoo with grace, look no further! We threw a lot at Barbara—dogs, cats, mini donkeys, and even a goat—and she handled them all like a pro. But the real test was our pig. To be fair, she had zero 'swine experience' going in, and our pig definitely knew it. He made it his mission to drive her absolutely bananas, but she didn’t crack! She was patient, attentive, and somehow managed to keep everyone happy and fed. It’s not every day you find someone willing to referee a pig while making sure the donkeys get their ear scratches. We came home to a very calm farm and happy animals. We’ll definitely be booking her again—if the pig hasn't scared her off for good”
