Elizabeth helped to care for my 2 cats while I was away for almost 4 weeks. Elizabeth was responsible and spent a lot of time with my cats. One of my cats is very skittish but he warmed up to Elizabeth quickly. She followed my instructions and kept me updated on each of her visits. I came home knowingly cats were taken care of and they enjoyed her visit. She did a great job for me!

About: I have experience dog sitting for more than 8 years. I have experience working with companion animals in veterinary clinics as a vet assistant and am currently a veterinary student at the Long Island university. I am currently not working as I am a student so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets after class which will end before noon on most days. I would make sure to care for your pets as if they were my own by closely sticking to their normal routines and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I am respectful to client’s home and always provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you are away.

About: I've helped take care of my special needs dog for 15 years, including walking her, feeding her, giving her medication, and playing with her. I'm great with dogs of all ages and would love to help walk your furry friend! I currently work a 9-5 full-time job in social media and I'm able to walk (or run) your dog in the morning or evenings! I work from home on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays but depending on timing on Wednesdays and Thursdays I can help. I'm a big runner, so if your dog enjoys going on runs I'd love to run with them! I unfortunately am unable to dog sit and watch your dog in my own house, but I am able to take your dog for walks and/or runs when needed or do drop-in visits for dogs and/or cats.

About: Our pets change our lives for the better and I want to make sure they’re well taken care of too. By making connections via talking, playing, training, and grooming I pride myself in providing full care for my furry friends. I make training fun and learn their individual strengths! Pet care is an essential part in my daily routine. Each day begins by walking my pup, refreshing her water and food bowls. At the end of the day, I’m cleaning and prepping to start out routine over, putting toys away and doing our last walk of the night. I love taking my pups out downtown or to the dog park. If it’s dog-friendly, why aren’t we bringing the beans?! Everyone is always happy, fed, hydrated, and well played with. Pet hygiene and environmental cleanliness go hand in hand. I like to make sure I’m keeping my home clean for my pets. After all they play, lounge, and sleep in our home. The least we can do is make sure the space is free of dangerous objects or potential choking hazards. We also use pet gates in our home to ensure pet safety when cooking/cleaning/moving furniture.

About: I have been trusted by my neighbors & close friends to take care of their dogs over the years. I am open to accommodating different diets, cooking food for your fur baby, bathing/grooming & administering medications (if needed) & walk schedules. I have owned both young and senior dogs from when I was a child and I consider them a part of my family. Any dog in my care would be considered my family, they deserve the best and to feel comfortable and cared for while their dog parent(s) are away. I have an enclosed fenced in backyard and beaches and nature parks/(dog park) are in close vicinity to my home. I am currently available full time to take care of your fur baby. I offer both daytime and overnight boarding services in my home for up to 2 dogs, house sitting services, drop-in visits, & dog walking. Pets in my care would be on a feeding and walk schedule/itinerary that is prepared for them by their owner. Of course playtime and loads of attention and fun will be incorporated into their daily routine! Owners can bring their dog's favorite chew toy or pet bed to make them feel more comfy along with any other supplies deemed necessary. Pets I am watching are more than welcome to sleep on my couch or bed. I am also happy to oblige client requests for photo & video updates of their pets for the duration of their stay.

About: I’m a current veterinary student with over 10 years of hands on animal care experience, including working in veterinary medicine in Arizona. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, breeds, and medical needs, and I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring for health concerns, and supporting both puppies and senior pets. I also have two dogs of my own a senior dog and a high-energy Australian Shepherd so I understand the patience, structure, and attention different pets need. Whether your dog loves slow, relaxed walks or needs lots of activity and stimulation, I’ve got it covered. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize both their safety and happiness, so you can feel confident they’re in knowledgeable and caring hands I’m a veterinary student with hands on animal care experience, so my availability varies depending on classes during the semesters. Besides classes and attending to my own pets, we can discuss flexible scheduling. Please reach out prior as my calendar may not always reflect my availability. I provide attentive, reliable care during dog walks and drop in visits, following all instructions closely, feeding, medications, or any special needs while keeping pets safe and comfortable. I understand pet behavior and body language, so I can respond calmly and appropriately in any situation. I focus on creating a secure and stress-free experience for every pet. While I’m not offering overnight stays at this time, every walk and visit is designed to give pets the attention, care, and consistency they deserve, giving owners peace of mind while they’re away.

About: I've had pets ever since I was born so I have a lot of experience taking care of them! I've helped out neighbors walk their dogs often and always enjoy it! I've had a dog for 10 years so I know a dogs routine! I volunteered at Cove Animal Rescue taking care of cats for a few months (as well as the 2 I have at home!). I am currently a pet care specialist at Dan’s Pet Care so during the weekdays I will have clients between 10am-4pm but I will try my best to hopefully make myself available to be able to attend to your pets needs! I enjoy spending time with my dog and 2 cats when I’m home and always try to attend to their needs as much as I can. I'm a big animal person so I'm always glad to do it!

About: I have always grown up with dogs in my home. Currently, my family has one high energy black lab. In September of 2024, I also adopted my first own dog, Millie! I have watched, played with, fed, and walked dogs for many years including family and friends. I am currently in my final year of veterinary school. I also have worked as a veterinary assistant so have first aid and medical skills. I’m in my clinical year of vet school so my schedule varies by which rotation I’m on! Early morning and evening would probably be best for me most of the time. I try to update my availability calendar as often as I can! My home is very safe. There are plenty of paths and green spaces for walking. Your animal would have to get up one flight of steps.

Kaylee watched our 2 large shepherds and she was fantastic. Our dogs are very hyper dogs and both anxious in their own ways so we never feel the best leaving them with new people but Kaylee took lots of photos, our dogs were super happy and we felt so confident leaving them in her care. We will definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a loving sitter for your fur babies!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Locust Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Locust Valley with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
