About: Currently a 2nd year DVM student at LIU college of veterinary medicine. I have been working in vet hospitals for 6 years, and love to take care of animals. I’m currently a vet student at LIU, so I am mostly available in the evenings and on weekends. But I am more than happy to arrange things as best we can. I can’t offer service in my home, but I am more than happy to pet/housesit for you and do all I can to keep your pets happy.
About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was born and my first move after getting my own place was to adopt my own dog, Phoenix. Despite Phoenix’s passing, I have still stayed very active in the dog community with both fostering and dogsitting. I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes and needs and am very eager to help with yours! I work remote full time, so I have a lot of extra time to take care of the dogs. I also am always out walking with my family and their dogs and taking them on different adventures. I have a decent sized inside place to play and also a fenced in backyard for dogs to run in. I try and provide as much mental and physical enrichment as possible.
About: I’ve taken care of many cats including one of my own in the past. I love taking care of cats, feeding them and seeing them happy! I have most of the week days available during Summer and may have nights and weekends after August, looking forward to caring for, playing with, walking and meeting your pup! I can crate train, and care for the animal based on the clients house and take all safety precautions including staying leashed outside and following all instructions
About: I have experience dog sitting for more than 8 years. I have experience working with companion animals in veterinary clinics as a vet assistant and am currently a veterinary student at the Long Island university. I am currently not working as I am a student so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets after class which will end before noon on most days. I would make sure to care for your pets as if they were my own by closely sticking to their normal routines and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I am respectful to client’s home and always provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you are away.
“Jordan is so sweet and attentive. He sent me updates after every visit, including several pictures! He gave my senior dog the extra TLC that she needed! He always showed up on time and was willing to go the extra mile. Would definitely recommend Jordan and will certainly be asking for him again in the future!”

“Remi was an amazing pet sitter! She took such great care of my two cats while I was away and gave me real peace of mind. She was reliable, caring, and kept me updated, which meant so much to me. My cats can be very shy, but I could tell they were well looked after. She even went above and beyond by making sure everything was taken care of while I was gone. I highly recommend Remi to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you again, Remi, for taking such wonderful care of Noah and Naomi!”

About: Hi! I’m Cassandra, a caring, reliable, and experienced dog lover who has grown up caring for dogs and understands how much love, patience, and attention they need. I work part time in Huntington. I work Tuesday through Friday in office and Thursday’s remote, 10-4 Weekends are free, and Mondays I am off. I am very personable with animals and their parents. I take a lot of time and care into my work with pets and people, and their homes too.
“Jessica was wonderful! We were gone for a week and nervous about our boys being left alone. She sent 10 pictures each drop in, and went above and beyond. The day we lost power while we were away, she came over and made sure they were ok. Thank you so much Jessica!”

“Kaylee watched our 2 large shepherds and she was fantastic. Our dogs are very hyper dogs and both anxious in their own ways so we never feel the best leaving them with new people but Kaylee took lots of photos, our dogs were super happy and we felt so confident leaving them in her care. We will definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a loving sitter for your fur babies!”

“Hailey was fantastic!! She was very communicative about our cat and very patient in trying to get his fearful personality to come out of hiding. We will certainly reach out to her when in need of a cat sitter. Highly recommend her!!”

“What a great experience we had with Ashley watching our two dogs, three cats and guinea pig! Easy going, flexible time wise and punctual. Our animals love her and we will use her services in the future. Thank you Ashley!”

About: I've had many different dogs over the years: labs, pit bull mixes, miniature pinscher, and german shepherds. I especially love GSDs and am very comfortable walking and taking care of them. I've dog walked/sat for a Rhodesian ridgeback mix as well as a springer spaniel. I was also owner to rescue dogs with severe anxiety. Overall, I'm comfortable with many different dogs! I'm currently working online, so I’m pretty flexible most weekdays. I'm often out and about finding new walking spots and exploring the neighborhoods. I have access to a car, so it's easy for me to stop by. I understand the safety precautions necessary to having a dog in the area with street crossing and other pedestrians and dogs. I will always prioritize your pet's safety!
“I highly recommend Jessica! This is the second time she has watched my dogs. I have to hire someone to give my dog his meds at night if I am not around, and I trust her to do it! She is very kind and keeps you updated during the check in.”

I make sure they are comfortable and keep their daily routine that they are used to, to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Danielle was amazing with my cat while I was on my 10-day trip. My cat loved her, and I could tell her was upset when it was me and not her when I walked in the door!! She even brought over special treats for him. She left my apartment clean and well taken care for as well which I really appreciated. I am so happy to know I have Danielle for my next trip- I know my cat is looking forward to seeing her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
