“Kinan goes above and beyond as both a sitter and dog walker. He takes exceptional care of my German Shepherd, Zara, and it’s clear how much he genuinely loves animals. As a house sitter, he’s the best I’ve ever had—he left my home spotless, was so respectful of our space, and spent so much quality time with my girl while I was away. I can’t recommend him enough—10/10!”

“We got daily updates on Millie for the almost 2 weeks we were out of town for our wedding. Millie was excited to see Dustin when he arrived, which of course makes us happy and comfortable to see. Thank you for taking such good care of her!!”
“If I could give Michael 10 stars I would! He is a phenomenal sitter who went above and beyond to care for my 2 pups as well as 2 other family pups while we went on a family vacation to Hawaii. We were all able to relax knowing the dogs were being well cared for, which was much needed for us all. Michael sent daily updates with photos and our pups looked happy the entire time he was with them - it gave us such great peace of mind to know they were being loved on. We came home to happy pups and an immaculately clean home. Each of the dogs has a different feeding routine including some medications, different potty break times, and different temperaments. From my 2 labs who love to play and snuggle, to the bonus dogs who are older and anxious (including one who's mostly blind and deaf), Michael gave each dog the care and attention they specifically needed. We're already scheduled to have him dogsit again next month, and plan to use his services over and over. If you're looking for an amazing sitter, look no further and hire Michael!”

“Janet was very attentive and thorough. She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout her stay. Our dog Hollie and birds were well taken care of. Janet walked our dogs more than we asked for so she went above and beyond her scope of work. We will definitely be booking her again.”

“We’ve had our dogs for longer than our kids so we were worried about finding a good sitter for them while on a long vacation. Thankfully we found Emily. She was amazing. Photos/texts with updates did more then we asked of her and the dogs seemed to be taken care of very well. We will be using Emily for any future vacations.”

“Kalle was great!!! She was very thorough in her questions to make sure she understood my instruction s since this was her first time. She went above an beyond what was expected. My Cali was looking for her the day after I returned home.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting dogs and cats for the past 10 years and have experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. Having dogs and cats of my own has given me a strong understanding of how important it is for pets to feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, giving lots of attention, and making sure pets keep their usual routine so they feel at home. I am currently working part time and will be sure to provide my availability, so that together we can be sure your pet is given the best possible care. I will ensure your pet is well cared for while you're away, providing them with plenty of attention and care. They are family afterall.
“Christ did an amazing job with my dogs, took them out on walks, sent lots of photos and took very good care of them while I was gone. I would absolutely recommend him to sit for anyone.”

“Luka did a fantastic job watching our Australian Sheppard and two kitties while we were away. Our Aussie needs a lot of attention and activities or he gets restless. Luka kept him happy and our home was in perfect condition when we got home. Highly recommend!”

“Super sweet, and took such wonderful care of my fur babies. She instantly felt like family, and took care of my babies like her own. I will DEFINITELY be using her again when I come to this area visiting family.”

About: My childhood was surrounded by dogs. When I was 12, I had to completely take care of 4 pit bulls, a Dotson, a mixed breed medium sized dog, and 3 cats. I have watched a few friends and family's pets over the years. Before I moved here, I actually helped my cousin take care of his senior husky with low energy that needed shots for a medical condition and a 2 year old German shepherd with all the energy in the world. My foster mom also bred pugs for a living, and have had to help the momma pug give birth while my foster parents were gone. I also have a 4 year old female Black Mouth Cur named Ava, that I have had since 6 months old, and a 2 year old male pitbull terrier rescue named Bosco, that I have had for a year and counting. He is full of fear and needs a lot of patience to work through it, but after 5 months of touch and go work, he now knows what play is and has his own toys! He also is scared to eat or seems to not know what his feeding bowl is, but after different ways to show that feeding time is okay, he is slowly gaining the weight he should be at! Treats were his sweet spot for knowing it is a safe place, and my sweet Ava sped the process for getting him comfortable in his new home and now commandeers my clothing to sleep with in his bed. Due to Bosco being a rescue and has become very protective is why I can't offer in home sitting in my home but am open to dog sitting at client's homes. I am currently a new stay at home mom. I take care of my two boys and my two fur babies. I am more than ready to help others with their fur babies. Due to behavior of one of my dogs, I would not be able to comfortably care for your fur babies in my own home, but I will do the utmost care for your fur babies in your home! Give me all the rules you need followed; Outside during certain times, feeding strategies, don't sit in a certain spot or area in the home. Nothing is too much to handle! I have even taken care of dogs with potty issues and needed baths for their health care and hygiene of your home.
“We were apprehensive to leave our pets in the care of someone new, but Tom absolutely went above and beyond to lovingly care for our animals and give us peace of mind while we were on our trip! He very much understands the value of keeping pets' in their daily routine and doing things just as their owners would. He did everything we asked him to, including daily walks, small animal cage cleanings, giving of medicine, sending daily updates/pics, and giving lots of love and attention! Having a trusted pet-sitter while you're away is crucial and we will DEFINITELY be using Tom again and recommend him to others.”

“Cat M. did an excellent job with my dog, Maggie. Cat walked Maggie twice a day and she even bathed her after Maggie had rolled in the dirt. My house was in the same condition as when I left it, which was greatly appreciated. Cat even spent her own time with me after I returned to teach me some tricks to use when taking Maggie for a walk, as Maggie is a puller and she is reactive to other dogs. Cat has been the best pet sitter through Rover that I’ve had in the past and I will definitely book with her again.”

“Laney was wonderful. She took great care of our pups, sent pictures every day and left the house spotless. We look forward to a long puppy care relationship with her. :). Thank you Laney!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I cared for all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, hamsters, and turtles, which taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal's unique personality. For five years, I volunteered with the Nevada Humane Society, where I regularly walked dogs and helped manage their Kitten Camp program a few hours each week. That experience gave me hands-on experience working with pets of different ages, temperaments, and needs. Most recently, I shared my home with two beloved senior cats, one diabetic and the other living with inflammatory bowel disease and arthritis. Caring for them required administering medications, monitoring their health, and providing extra patience and attention. When I traveled, I relied heavily on trusted pet sitters to ensure they received their daily care, including injections and medications. After recently saying goodbye to both of my cats, I'm taking some time to heal while channeling my love for animals into helping other pet parents. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members, and I would be honored to provide the same dependable, compassionate care that meant so much to me. Whether your pet needs a walk, companionship, medication administration, or simply a caring presence while you're away, I'll treat them as if they were my own. ❤️🐾 I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive, reliable pet care throughout the day. Because I can work from anywhere with an internet connection, I can easily fit pet care into my daily routine, whether that means frequent dog walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or simply providing companionship. I'm available to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible and can give dogs plenty of exercise and attention while making sure cats receive the care, affection, and monitoring they need. My flexible schedule allows me to be responsive to each pet's individual needs and provide peace of mind while you're away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication administration, and any special care requirements. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while also respecting their individual personalities and comfort levels. I keep food, water, and litter areas clean, monitor for any changes in behavior or health, and provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are well cared for. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pet by providing dependable, attentive care and treating your home and animals with the same respect I would my own.
“Jessica was absolutely wonderful with my two fur-babies, Layla and Mocha! She was reliable, responsive, and caring, and I really appreciated her willingness to meet ahead of time to learn about my dogs' needs and routines. She went above and beyond expectations to take care of my pets and my home and prepare my house for my return, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. Highly recommend!”

“Taylor is amazing. We have had her a fee times now and not only does she make us feel comfortable leaving our pups, but the pups feel comfortable being with her. Highly recommend!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 690 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lockwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lockwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lockwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lockwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lockwood. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
