“Megan was great! She was super communicative and sent a lot of photos to make me know my babies were being taken care of (super important to me) I give her 5++++ stars! Thanks again Megan for treating them so well and being so in touch with me on what was going on.”
About: My childhood was surrounded by dogs. When I was 12, I had to completely take care of 4 pit bulls, a Dotson, a mixed breed medium sized dog, and 3 cats. I have watched a few friends and family's pets over the years. Before I moved here, I actually helped my cousin take care of his senior husky with low energy that needed shots for a medical condition and a 2 year old German shepherd with all the energy in the world. My foster mom also bred pugs for a living, and have had to help the momma pug give birth while my foster parents were gone. I also have a 4 year old female Black Mouth Cur named Ava, that I have had since 6 months old, and a 2 year old male pitbull terrier rescue named Bosco, that I have had for a year and counting. He is full of fear and needs a lot of patience to work through it, but after 5 months of touch and go work, he now knows what play is and has his own toys! He also is scared to eat or seems to not know what his feeding bowl is, but after different ways to show that feeding time is okay, he is slowly gaining the weight he should be at! Treats were his sweet spot for knowing it is a safe place, and my sweet Ava sped the process for getting him comfortable in his new home and now commandeers my clothing to sleep with in his bed. Due to Bosco being a rescue and has become very protective is why I can't offer in home sitting in my home but am open to dog sitting at client's homes. I am currently a new stay at home mom. I take care of my two boys and my two fur babies. I am more than ready to help others with their fur babies. Due to behavior of one of my dogs, I would not be able to comfortably care for your fur babies in my own home, but I will do the utmost care for your fur babies in your home! Give me all the rules you need followed; Outside during certain times, feeding strategies, don't sit in a certain spot or area in the home. Nothing is too much to handle! I have even taken care of dogs with potty issues and needed baths for their health care and hygiene of your home.
“Here’s a polished review you can post: Angie took wonderful care of our two dogs and our son’s puppy during our 12-day cruise. Managing three dogs, especially with a new puppy in the mix is no small task, but she kept them well cared for, exercised, and happy throughout our trip. Communication across time zones was occasionally a little challenging, but Angie still sent daily texts and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. She also ran into a few unexpected challenges at the house and did a great job troubleshooting to make sure everything stayed in order. Overall, we were very pleased with her care and wouldn’t hesitate to book Angie again. Five stars!”

“Laney did a great job with our two dogs. She sent pictures of them a couple times a day and let us know how they were behaving. My dogs are not the easiest to warm up to but Laney has the magic touch. The house looked untouched when we returned and Laney offered to stay with the dogs for additional time if our flight got cancelled due to the snow storm. Very happy with her care of our animals.”

“Heather is great! First of all, Heather truly loves and respects pets. It is very reassuring to know your pets will be well taken care of. She will send cute pictures every day of your precious pets. Heather is effecient and knowledgeable and follows up with what ever schedule you give her. She will leave your house in perfect condition and you will find your pets relaxed and unstressed. We recommend her 100%!!”

“Dustin was very prompt with communication and sent frequent pictures and videos of our pups on our trip. Our older dog can be stubborn and picky about taking her meds, and he was patient with her and able to get her to take her medications, so that really says a lot to us. We will be using Dustin’s services again for our next trip in October too.”
“Kinan was exceptional. He took great care of our two pups, made sure the house was spotless when we arrived home, and helped us with a very big project. Can't recommend him enough, and plan to work with him again!”

“Janet was very attentive and thorough. She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout her stay. Our dog Hollie and birds were well taken care of. Janet walked our dogs more than we asked for so she went above and beyond her scope of work. We will definitely be booking her again.”

“Michael is the perfect sitter! He gave us regular updates, managed our dog’s reactivity with patience and skill, and was very accommodating to our requests. Big thanks to Michael we were able to have a stress-free and relaxing vacation knowing our dog was in good hands.”

“Chyann was wonderful with our 3 dogs and very attentive to their needs! Our out-of-town trip was significantly more relaxing, knowing that our dogs were being well cared for by Chyann. I will absolutely be asking her to stay with our pups again in the future!”

“Outstanding sitter. Numerous daily pictures, walks, activities. Pets all received lots of love. House in perfect condition upon return. We will absolutely request her to care for our pets and home again!!!”

“Super sweet, and took such wonderful care of my fur babies. She instantly felt like family, and took care of my babies like her own. I will DEFINITELY be using her again when I come to this area visiting family.”

“Kalle was great!!! She was very thorough in her questions to make sure she understood my instruction s since this was her first time. She went above an beyond what was expected. My Cali was looking for her the day after I returned home.”

“Sam was a life saver! I had a last minute business trip to go to and she was able to come and keep my 11 wk old puppy company while I was away. She came days before to meet Finn, got oriented with his care and where things were and viola! She showed up early Thursday morning like an angel and saved the day. She sent photos and kept me updated with how he was doing, THANK YOU SO MUCH SAM!”

“Would leave more than 5 stars if I could. Lilly went above and beyond during her stay. She helped us out a ton by taking our trash out on pickup day and washed sheets/towels that were used during her stay, which made our return that much easier. The photo and video updates of the cats helped ease our minds during our trip. Communication was excellent the whole time.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spanish Springs
This is the second time we have used Jen and Kathy to housesit and watch our furry little monster. This was for a 9 day stretch though and the length was compounded by some recently discovered health issue with our senior dog. Jen an Kathy took great care of Paisley and other than her being a tad perturbed with us now that the excitement of us coming home has worn off, she happy as a clam and as healthy as her situation allows. Having Jen and Kathy, who have experience with Paisley’s health issues, take care of her allowed us to relax and enjoy a trip that was planned to celebrate our daughter receiving her Master’s degree. We would highly recommended using them for your pet needs.

Desiree was amazing! She adjusted her schedule after working a 12h shift to come and take care of my dogs early. They were very happy and content when I arrived home and I'm sure she gave them the care that they are used to with walks, attention and lots of treats! I can't thank her enough for the care she provided and I highly recommend her to others!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spanish Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spanish Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spanish Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
