Kinan was a perfect house guest and pup sitter. We came home to happy dogs and a clean home. We can’t say enough good things about him. If you are in need of someone, he is a great choice. We will be using him when we need a pup sitter again.

Ivonne and her family are the BEST! My little dog was sad when he saw my suitcases and I thought he might be even sick, but Ivonne and her family made him feel better and happy immediately, and they made me feel the same! They spoiled my sweet dog and even spoiled me by leaving my house cleaner than it’s ever been! They are truly caring, loving gems and I am so grateful!

We loved Natalie. It is our first time using a home sitter but my goldens had trouble at kennels-stopped eating and drinking. She took great care of them. It was obvious they loved her. She sent me pictures almost everyday. It was such a treat and she did a wonderful AAA+ job with my dogs and my house.

I'm not even sure where to begin with my gratitude for Angie and the way that she cared for our two dogs. We went on a 10-day vacation, and she stayed in our home with our 15-year-old dog and our eight-year-old dog. Angie contacted me multiple times per day with pictures and texts to let me know how the dogs were doing. She took them on walks, fed them, comforted them, and she did an amazing job managing our older dogs medications. I could tell through her communication that our dogs were in excellent hands. Sadly, three days into our trip our older dog suffered a seizure and Angie kept me abreast of any changes. The day after the seizure, our dog passed away at home and Angie nursed her into her passing. This by far was one of the most devastating things to have happen while on vacation. Angie worked with my dear friend and took care of our sweet dog until the very end. Angie not only loved our dog as she passed, she loved and cared for our younger dog in a way that I can never repay her. I had no idea when I ventured onto Rover that I would find such a kind soul to love our dogs. I will forever be grateful to her and I hope that this review can help someone feel comforted in putting their trust in Angie.

My golden retrievers think Michael is amazing and so do we. He is conscientious about keeping them engaged with toys, walks and swimming. He always leaves our house just as he found it. He consistently goes above and beyond which is very much appreciated and eliminates any possible anxiety in leaving the dogs in his care.

About: I grew up with a husky dog throughout my entire childhood and I am now a proud cat owner. Huskies can be particularly difficult dogs to walk, and I have been walking them for as long as I can remember. My parents considered our dog as a part of the family and always provided an abundance of love and activity. I have taken the same approach with my cats and I love every moment. I have had my older cat, Iris, for 5 years and I rescued a kitten, Aster, almost 2 months ago. My connection with the pets in my life drives my love for all of the pets that I provide care to. I love puppies and kittens, antics and all. I enjoy walking, hiking, and playing with dogs. Being a cat owner, I have a wonderful time hanging out with cats. Whether they love to play, just want pets, or even take a while to warm up to people, I’m here for it. I am most available Sunday-Thursday. Friday and Saturday can work for specific situations. Sunday: all day Monday: before 5 pm Tuesday: all day Wednesday: before 5 pm Thursday: all day Friday: before 2 pm Saturday: available for house sitting for the right situation. Send me a message and we can discuss if it’s a good fit. I absolute LOVE to play and will be good company for a dog. I am mindful, and will be sure to give them lots of potty breaks. I am also an out doors person so walks are no problem! I approach every cat slowly and allow them to make the first move. Once we break the ice, I love engaging in play with interactive toys or providing pets based off of what the cat wants.

Sofia has gone above and beyond caring for our 4 dogs while we were out of town. Her sweetness and attention to detail with our dogs, made us feel not worried. Usually our dog Feebs barks at sitters, and she didn’t with Sofia. We would definitely love to bring her to sit for us again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you!!!!

Cat M. did an excellent job with my dog, Maggie. Cat walked Maggie twice a day and she even bathed her after Maggie had rolled in the dirt. My house was in the same condition as when I left it, which was greatly appreciated. Cat even spent her own time with me after I returned to teach me some tricks to use when taking Maggie for a walk, as Maggie is a puller and she is reactive to other dogs. Cat has been the best pet sitter through Rover that I’ve had in the past and I will definitely book with her again.

Antoinette is responsible, attentive, and friendly! For my first booking with her, she watched my cat for five nights. She set up an in-person meeting beforehand and paid careful attention to his food and play preferences. She also sent photos updates with each meal, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She even brought in a package for me without having to ask. I’d happily book her again!

Chris did an awesome job taking care of my two dogs for 3 weeks while I traveled very far to see family. He stayed in my apartment with them, and kept them active with lots of walks/runs, finding places where they can run around off-leash. He was always friendly and communicative and went above and beyond to make my dogs happy and comfortable. Really highly recommend him!

We met Tracie through Rover and did a meet and greet before she stayed at our house for a week with our two dogs and our daughter’s dog. At the meet and greet, the dogs instantly felt at ease with Tracie. During her stay, she did a wonderful job dealing with three unique dog personalities. She is a great communicator and sent regular pictures and updates while we were away. It was such an amazing feeling to be able to relax on vacation and know that our pets were in such great hands. We will request booking with Tracie again and have told our friends about her excellence and professionalism.

She also went above and beyond and took care of the house, the plants, the mail etc, so that when we returned it was to a serene home with a happy dog and and cats. FAQs for House Sitting - Hidden Valley

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hidden Valley on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 736 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hidden Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hidden Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hidden Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hidden Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hidden Valley. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
