About: I’ve been a pet sitter for many years for friends/ neighbors in my home and theirs. I have had pets since I’m 5. I have A great love for animals. I’ve been a foster and have 3 pets of my own right now. I am also part of the rescue community and volunteer to help homeless pets. I promise to take care of your pet as if it was my own. I will walk your dogs as long as they have a harness and/ or watch your dog or cats. I’m a special education teacher, so I’m very experienced with behavior modification. I look forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to care for your pets. Have a purrrfect tailwagging kind of day!! ThanksSue and be I will take your dog for walks, love them, Snuggle. I can also keep them company in their own home too. I do drop ins. I am retired, I’m available on most days and times. I can usually manage my schedule around your needs. Let me know when your fur baby needs someone to take care of them. I only take 1-2 dogs for daycare. I feel I offer a calmer environment for those clients and dogs who don’t want to place their dogs with many other dogs during the day. I can give them a lot more attention. I can also care for your dog for longer hours past regular daycare hours. It is for this reason I have extended time rates at 5.00 for each additional hour past 9 hours. I have a fully 6 ft fenced in yard. I watch them when they are outside. I can play with them inside or out depending on the weather. I keep my gate locked. I’m retired so my days are pretty flexible . I can play with them inside or in the backyard. If it’s too hot or cold we stay in. My yard is completely fenced in with a 6 ft wooden fence. They are like family when they stay with us. Let me know if any special needs.i also take guinea pigs and rabbits.

Kristi was amazing with our crew !! She knew we had just taken in our Gracie as a rescue pug and gave her all the extra love and snuggles that she needed to feel safe and loved ....she spent lots of extra time in our home to ensure they didn't feel our absence even working remotely at our place which was great for our pugs/cats. She kept us informed of daily events and sent lots of snuggle snaps which made us feel better. Kristi even left us homemade biscotti for our return home. I can say with full confidence that Kristi is motivated by love of animals and helping others...we will most certainly hire her back to our home for all our Rover needs :)

About: My family adopted our first puppy when I was 5 years old and I assisted with the training and care of all 3 of our dogs since then. My childhood pal lived to be 16 and I helped take care of him throughout all stages of life. I work a 9 - 5 in person but have plenty availability before and after work for early morning or early evening walks. Weekends and weeknights are no problem for my schedule. Please lay out any specific care instructions for long-term visits so I can ensure that your pet is getting the same care and regimen from me as they would you.

Diana was fantastic and we would 100% book her again. Our two dogs took to her quickly at our initial meeting, which put me at great ease. She stayed in our home for 3 nights with our 11 month old puppy and our 14 year old dog. They both have completely different personalities and needs. Diana sent us videos and photos of the dogs, and little updates each day. The house was also well taken care of and looked as if no one had been here. We were able to enjoy our trip without worry and knew the dogs were in good hands. I would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a sitter.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with three schnauzers and have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs of all kinds. From pups to senior dogs, shy pups like Luna, playful rescues like Moose, and spunky dogs like Pippa, I have loved getting to know them all. I have experience with feeding, administering medications, and maintaining consistent daily routines. My patient and attentive approach helps me connect with all types of dogs. I love giving them plenty of playtime, cuddles, and walks; one wag at a time 🐾 As a recent college graduate, I have a remote job that gives me the flexibility to work from home. I can take dogs on walks during my breaks or stay with them at home. I am available during the weekdays and weekends to ensure your dog has consistent attention, companionship, and care whenever you need it. Every dog I care for becomes part of my family. I provide walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles, making sure they have a safe, comfortable space to relax. I follow their usual routines, whether that’s lounging on their couch, resting in their crate, or engaging in activities. I’m happy to help with anything that makes them feel most at home, including discussing any medication needs in advance to ensure their care is safe and consistent.

She made sure Romina was well fed, spent time playing with her, and even slept beside her. It was clear that Romina was loved and cared for the entire time. I’m so grateful and would absolutely trust Julie with Romina again.

Our three dogs with very different needs can be a lot to manage (a rambunctious 18 month old, a five year old, and an elder dog in significant decline), and Adriana took great care of all of them simultaneously. She asks the right questions and communicates clearly and quickly to resolve anything that comes up. We could not be happier with how she works with us and cares for Maddie, Olaf, and Otter.

About: I’ve had pets since I was a child. Dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, birds - you name it. I’ve always been an animal lover and even wanted to be a veterinarian until I found out was euthanasia is. In my adolescence, I began pet sitting and volunteering with the SPCA (where we adopted all of our pets); small and big dogs, and sometimes multiple at a time. I started to experiment with training and enjoyed teaching tricks and obedience commands. When I turned 19, I inherited my family dog, Rocco, and we became best friends. My favorite memories from those years are taking him to parks and reserves across New York State. In 2025, he got sick and I learned a lot from taking care of him through the end of his life. It was important to me that he felt like a happy, special dog during his last days because he filled my life with so much joy. The day before his euthanasia, I invited everyone who knew him to celebrate his life. He was showered in presents and treats and cuddles and surrounded by humans he loved. Animals share such unique bonds with us. Now, I am looking for opportunities to share my love of animals through Rover. I hope you consider me as your next pet sitter. I am available! My best times are evenings and weekends, with sporadic availability midday during the week. I work 8-4 Monday through Thursday at a local farm collective in Kirkville and a community garden in South Syracuse. In my free time, I enjoy making art in all kinds of media and being outside. I am looking to spend my time with animals and make their lives happy and bright! Trust and safety is my utmost priority. Through many years of being around different animals, I learned the important of an initial bond based in trust and respect. I hold myself with strength and create an energy of a safe and inviting environment. I am able to gauge an animal’s personality and demeanor, and adjust accordingly. For pets that love to play, I am always happy to bring out my goofy and fun-loving side. For more reserved companions, I enjoy taking things slow and doing calmer activities. Most of all, a pet’s joy and comfort is my number one goal!

Nora went above and beyond what we expected from her. Not only did she immediately put our minds at ease in taking care of our 2 dogs but she also took care of other things at the house while we were gone like collecting the mail and watering our plants. We knew that our dogs were in good hands and didn't worry whatsoever the week that we were gone. All the pictures and videos she sent showed us that our dogs were being well taken care of and more importantly they looked SO happy!!! Would definitely recommend her to anyone and would book her again in a heartbeat! Thank you Nora once again!!!

Pam was amazing staying in our home with our Cece (Cavalier King Charles) overnight this weekend. We rarely leave Cece as she goes everywhere with us. Pam came for a meet and greet the week prior to our date, showed up a little early and that gave us time to go over anything either of us needed to, texted us pictures of Cece, and left the house tidy and locked up. Cece clearly loved Pam upon meeting her and was very excited when she returned the following week. Pam is a confident, professional, warm person and we will hopefully be able to have her back the next time we need Cece taken care of.

FAQs for House Sitting - Liverpool

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Liverpool on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 342 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Liverpool. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Liverpool walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Liverpool maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Liverpool choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Liverpool. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
