About: I live in Strathmore and work downtown. My absolute favorite things in life are my sons (who are amazing human beings!) and animals. Now that my sons are independent and out of the house, I enjoy being around and caring for animals. I have experience with all kinds of animals (e.g., dogs, cats, tarantulas, snakes, insects, and more). And I have had and loved dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from mini dachshunds with serious Napoleon complexes to larger-than-life Rottweilers and Great Danes. If you need a trustworthy, reliable, and affordable caregiver, feel free to reach out. :) Rate adjustments are available based on financial need. 😊 I am flexible on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Happy to work around your needs. I work in downtown Syracuse, so I can help with mid-day potty breaks for pets who live in Syracuse when needed. I have competed first aid (for dogs and cats) courses, and I always prioritize health and safety (including avoiding treats and snacks that aren’t recommended for pets). I have a fenced-in yard and live right across from Woodland Reservoir, a terrific place for walks if your pet needs to stay with me. I'm also happy to stay at clients' homes
“John is an excellent dog walker and care taker! Having someone come by my place that I trust is a huge relief. Even in warmer weather Benny still got outside and got great exercise. Thanks so much John!”

“Meaghan was a terrific dog sitter. She truly took excellent care of my dog Toto. I received multiple photos with captions which I really appreciated. In addition she followed all my instructions as my dog appears to do quite well with structure. Toto is a rescue who at times can be a bit stubborn. Meaghan had no problem with his finicky behavior. Toto really appeared to connect with Meaghan and her easy going approach. I was so impressed with her reliability, confidence and above all kindness. I do highly recommend Meaghan. She’s a gem!!”

About: I'm an enthusiastic dog walker and sitter that has a passion for dogs and rescuing them. I have been involved in dog rescue and fostering in the Syracuse area for a number of years. I've cared for a number of my own dogs and cats from young to seniors. I've also been a foster parent to a number of dogs when rescues needed someone. I can handle the most challenging of dogs down to little babies and everything in between. Your dog will get plenty of love and attention when I'm around! I give all dogs the same love and affection I would give my own dog and see the importance of cuddle and buddy time along with good exercise. I show confidence when I'm with a dog so that they know there is trust with me from the beginning. I currently work part time, so have plenty of time to spend with your fur baby. I am always available after 3:00 p.m. during the week, before 8:00 a.m. or anytime on the weekends. I've got a very pet friendly home. I live in a single story, ranch house that has a fully fenced back yard. I do not have children at home that we would need to worry about and I'm very respectful if needed to go into a client's home. Safety and security are always at the forefront.
About: Hi, I’m Kiera! I know how much pets mean to their families because I’ve been a devoted pet parent myself. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to my own 15-year-old senior pup, so I understand the unique needs of every stage of life. Whether it’s patience and positive reinforcement for young dogs learning the ropes or gentle care and extra TLC for senior pets, I’m here to make sure your furry friend feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I also have hands-on experience with reactive dogs, so I know how to create a calm, structured environment that helps them feel at ease. Every pet is different, and I’m committed to tailoring my care to their individual needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or just good company, I’d love to be their new best friend while you’re away! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine! As a lifelong pet lover and current dog parent, I’m always making time for walks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles. Since I work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, I’m available outside of those hours for pet care, whether that’s early morning walks, evening visits, or weekend adventures. Taking care of pets doesn’t feel like work to me—it’s something I genuinely enjoy, and I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and needs! Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness. In my home, visiting dogs will have a friendly companion, my own 15 year old dog, to keep them company, plus plenty of space to relax and play. I also have a crate available for dogs who need it, whether for comfort, routine, or safety. In a client’s home, I follow their usual schedule and routine as closely as possible to help pets feel at ease. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or cuddles, I make sure they get the same level of care and attention they’re used to. My goal is to provide a stress-free, loving environment where every pet feels right at home!

About: Schedule-Monday through Friday 6-2:30 I work and weekends off 🫠😁Animals have always been a part of my life growing up. Some of my family has a farm which I got to experience and learn from. I would walk a dog named Molly. She belonged to an older person who struggled with it. All 4 years of high school I was responsible for her grooming, as well as making sure she had plenty of extra love. I truly enjoyed the trust of this pet parent, and Molly that I gained from this time. I wish to continue that commitment now with the pet parents I will be able to meet on here. I truly hope to get the chance to gain your, and your pets trust by reaching there needs. -Christian Rosario My week is surrounded around taking care of my own home and animals. I have flexible hours with my job. If I am unable to be home my girlfriend is there all through the week. She only works weekends as a traveling vet assistant. On those days I am home to reach our animals and your pets needs. They will always be given attention and love. I have a fenced in back yard and two dogs of my own who are trained and help me train other dogs. Both are working emotional support dogs, as we understand they need a purpose to feel a part of the pack. Our house is big enough that no animals have to be together at any point. If this makes pet owners more comfortable and would like there pets separated to enjoy some alone time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
