“Our Goldendoodle Posey is a “spicy girl” and we couldn’t just leave her with anyone. Karla was our trainer at Take The Lead Dog Training and we were so impressed with her skills at helping to train our strong willed and somewhat naughty girl. I was able to enjoy my vacation and not worry about Posey because I knew she was in good hands. Posey got the chance to get some socialization with other dogs which she needed. I will definitely use Karla again.”

“I can highly recommend Rene and her family! I have boarded my 2 dogs with her twice in the last few months and was very pleased each time! It is easy to see that she and her family are real animal lovers!”

“This was our first time using Rover. We selected Ellen because she had many positive reviews as well as multiple returning clients. We made the right choice selecting Ellen to watch our fur babies. She is extremely accommodating and understanding. Our 2 pups have a number of quirks, but Ellen worked with them and gave them a home away from home. She sent multiple pictures a day and some videos, along with an update of the daily activities. We will absolutely be using Ellen if we go away and need a sitter. I cannot speak any higher of Ellen. Highly recommend! Thanks again Ellen for putting our minds at ease.”

About: I have always had a love and passion for caring for small dogs. Over the past three years, I have gained personal experience caring for my own pet, learning the importance of patience, consistency, love, and attention in helping a dog feel safe and happy. Throughout the years, I have also helped care for family and friends’ pets, which has allowed me to build trust with different dogs and understand their unique needs and personalities. One of my favorite parts of caring for dogs is watching them grow into their own little personalities. Every dog is different, and I enjoy learning what makes each one feel loved, comfortable, and excited. I especially love small dogs because of their sweet, playful, and affectionate nature. Whether it’s cuddling, going on walks, playing, or simply spending quality time with them, I truly enjoy making sure dogs feel cared for, loved, and supported. My goal is always to provide a safe, gentle, and fun environment where pets feel like family. Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine because I have been caring for my own small dog for the last three years. Each day, I make time for feeding, walks, playtime, cuddles, and making sure my dog feels loved, safe, and comfortable. I enjoy building that routine because dogs thrive on consistency, attention, and care. Throughout the week, I also make space for longer walks, extra playtime, grooming needs, and quality bonding time. Since I have helped watch family and friends’ pets over the years, I understand how important it is to keep pets on a routine that feels familiar to them. Pet care fits naturally into my life because I truly enjoy being around dogs, learning their personalities, and giving them the love and attention they deserve. I currently work full time from home 4 days a week and have plenty of time to help others care for their fur babies. I care for pets with patience, attention, and love when they are in my home. My goal is always to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while keeping their routine as normal as possible. In my home, I provide a clean, calm, and welcoming environment where pets can relax, play, cuddle, and feel like part of the family. I make sure they have fresh water, proper feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. Since I have a passion for small dogs, I really enjoy creating a space where they can feel comfortable and loved. Whether I am cuddling with them, taking them on walks, playing with them, or simply keeping them company, I care for every pet as if they were my own.
“I can’t say enough great things about Victoria and the care she provided for my dog, Louise. Louise stayed with her for 9 days, and it’s clear she had an absolute blast the entire time. Normally, Louise is full of non-stop energy, but when she got home, she was completely tuckered out—in the best way possible! That alone told me she had a fun, active, and fulfilling stay. Victoria went above and beyond to make sure Louise felt at home. She provided updates throughout the stay, was super communicative, and treated Louise like one of her own. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in such capable and caring hands. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and gives them the time, attention, and love they deserve, Victoria is the one. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book with her again. Thank you, Victoria, for taking such amazing care of Louise!”

“Stockton had such a great time with Maolin, and he has major separation issues. She made him feel comfortable instantly and took him on a lot of awesome adventures! Would definitely book again!”

About: Hi I’m Zoë! I love all animals, big and small and have been around them my whole life. >I have owned many different types of animals: dogs, cats, fish, a ferret, guinea pigs, a hedgehog, ect... >I have experience with a spectrum of ages, sizes, and breeds of dogs. I am good with puppies in training, as well as senior dogs who need accommodations. >Right now I have a dog (Bailey, 3), a farm cat, a fish, and also a flock of ducks. >I also offer yard clean up services and homemade dogfood! >I have been working for Rover since 2023 after I graduated from OSU >I moved to Fairfield County in 2024 I currently work part time at a greenhouse and run my own business. Most of my days are very flexible and I am open to new short and long term clients! On Visits: I’m down stop in and visit your dog, or take them out on a walk in the yard or neighborhood. Feeding, playing, walking, trick training, giving medicine, and having hang time are all in my comfort zone. I can follow specific directions and trust my gut instincts. I love all dogs, big and small. They all have different personalities and I like to take my time to learn a dog and their preferences and tendencies. I always bring a treat with me on meet and greets if allowed, and I understand dog behavior enough to interpret their mood. For Dog Boarding: At my house, we have baby gates to separate the floors of the house, the cat stays upstairs most of the time. I like to have dogs meet on leashes or through a gate, I never leave unfamiliar dogs alone together, and my house is very dog friendly, with hardwood and linoleum and not much floor clutter. Outside, my dog is off leash trained (I know I am spoiled), but all other dogs I keep on a leash if we are outside or on an 100ft rope when we take walks through the field.
“Michelle and Justin were great sitters for our dog, Tucker! We got regular updates and pictures, and he was so happy when we picked him up. I can tell he was well cared for and got lots of playtime with their little boy. Would book with them again!”

“Very nice Sitter, we felt she took great care of our dog, kept us updated with messages and pics, quick to respond to any questions we had. She is an excellent choice in the Columbus area and we would use her again without question!!!”

“This is Ripley’s 3rd time staying with Rosemarie & Vallie’s first & I’m so thankful she was available to keep our babies for us. They had plenty of attention & love from them! “Oreo had a great stay with Jana and her family. They took such good care of my elderly dog and made sure he had activity time and gave him all his meds and gave him care and attention. He got along with their dog, which isn't always easy for my Oreo. I was sent many pictures each evening so I could see how my buddy was enjoying his stay. I highly recommend Jana and Hannah (hope I got that right). I will definitely rebook with them.”

“Travis was AMAZING. Everyday he sent me pics and videos of my little guy. This made my vacation even more relaxing knowing that he was being well cared for. My dog enjoyed his time with him and I will be using him again real soon. Trust your loved one with Travis.”

“Naaya had a wonderful time with Joe and I'm very happy about having had Naaya with him. He's kind and very responsive and made sure Naaya was well taken care of and kept us posted via regular texts. Would highly recommend Joe.”

Laura was an amazing sitter! She (and her family) took excellent care of our two pups while we are on vacation for a week. She sent multiple pictures and updates every day. It was reassuring to see from those updates that our dogs were having a great time on their own vacation. I also appreciated how accommodating Laura was when I asked to make a change in the pick up time. I feel very lucky to have found her and would definitely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
