“We knew our dog was in very good hands with Stephanie Ralph was well taken care of as he is a bit of a high maintenance bull dog Great to come home to a happy dog”

“Isabel was an absolute delight! I was a little nervous booking with someone new, but the moment she came over to meet our dogs, I felt completely at ease. She kept us updated throughout our trip and sent plenty of photos. It was clear they were getting lots of love and attention—when we got home, they were relaxed and happy, so I knew they’d been well cared for. She will be my first call the next time I need someone to watch my boys.”

“I was so nervous leaving my little one with Suzanee as this was my first time away from her. My friendand I were going out town for 4 days so we decided to leave our furkids together at his house. Suzanne was wonderful; a true professional. She was on time, took excellent, detailed notes, asked all the right questions and our babies just loved her. A friend of mine who saw her with our furbabies at the park remarked to me that my little girl seemed to be bonded with her...I think it made me a bit jealous, lol. She kept the house the way we left it with her and was a fantastic dogsitter. She even made sure that we made it home ok in case she needed to tend to our furkids if we didn't get home as expected. I would absolutely ask her to sit them again and highly recommend her.”

About: I am currently in school for vet med and I work at K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel, I just can’t get enough animals in my life! I have had all sorts of pets growing up and my passion for their care runs deep!! I’ve been dog walking and pet sitting since early middle school!! I am still a student and I am in class Tues-Fri, 9-1. My work schedule can fluctuate but I only work 3 days a week, usually Sat, Sun, and Wed. Mondays I am fully free! I live in an apartment and have 2 friendly cats, but if that is an issue for your pet, they can easily be securely separated. If you are uncertain about spacing or anything else, I am more than happy to come to you! If your pet needs exercise, I’m the right person to call!!
“Izabela was fantastic. 10 stars, not 5! She is kind, patient, communicative and loved our dog, Brady! Our air conditioning went out over the weekend when she was there, and she was a trooper working through all of it. Can't say enough good things about her. Already hired her again for this week!!!”

“Shannon is a godsend. She has been SO AMAZING with my pup. Not only did he take to her quickly, but she is thorough and communicative and kept me constantly updated throughout the stay. I’m so happy I found her and will be booking again for sure!!”

“Vicklyn is nothing short of amazing! She felt like a friend the moment we met her. She’s very warm and you can tell right away that she loves animals. She took care of our baby while we travelled internationally for two weeks. Not at any point did we worry about her, we knew she was in great hands! She sent us the perfect amount of updates. She also stayed in our apartment for the entire two weeks and we came back to the apartment exactly as we left it! Couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“Amber was simply outstanding!! She provided several updates (with videos and pictures) each day. We came home to a clean house and extremely happy puppies! It was evident she treated them as her own and gave them all the attention and love we could ask for. We will definitely be using her again in the future. Thanks, Amber!”
“The service that Candace provided for my animals was beyond impressive and professional. This was my first time ever using a pet sitter and I believe that we will continue to use Candace in the future. My girls were treated like royalty and my foster kittens didn't even realize I wasn't there. I was nervous about leaving my new puppy, only three months old, but Candace did a great job reinforcing what she has already been taught. She also sent me multiple pictures and videos of my animals while I was away, in addition to sending me several daily updates. I would definitely recommend Candace to anyone who needs a pet sitter.”

“Loved the communication we had throughout the day! Always was quick to respond with photos and information. Our pup was happy to be safe at home and Bridget was respectful of our space. We will 100% book her again!”

“I’m what they would call a helicopter parent. It’s very hard to for me to leave my dog with anyone because his anxiety is really bad. Larissa did a fantastic job! She must us feel so comfortable with constant updates, pictures and more. We will definitely be rehiring her!”

“Lorena was absolutely amazing with my dog. It was my first time leaving her for more than one day and Lorena sent constant updates and photos to make me feel at ease. She took great care of my pup and home and I truly look forward to having here again with my pup. Highly, highly recommend!!”

About: When I was younger I was taking care of 2 adorable dogs as well as 2 wonderful cats. Now my mother runs a awesome pet care service that I partake in on my off time and I'm ready to help others in different areas that she doesn't offer in. I'm currently working full time as a lifeguard but I can always watch your fur babies at night or on my off days, as well as do check ins and walks, or whatever you may need. It is completely depending on the clients needs, I prefer specific instructions on a pets routine but if that isn't something you can give me I will revert back to 2 daily walks, maybe 3, and being fed 2 times a day.
“Another great experience with Dani and Mari! They took wonderful care of Daisy Mae, allowing us to relax with peace of mind and fully enjoy our vacation. Highly recommended!”

“Cathryn was great! She took amazing care of our pup, making her treats and taking her out on long walks. We were so nervous to leave her, but felt so much better with Cathryn’s constant communication and frequent photos! The house was super clean and our girl was so happy. We got more photos of our pup from her than anyone who has ever watched our dog, which was such a highlight on our vacation. Thank you so much, Cathryn!”

“Bree was super sweet and so attentive with all of our pets! We booked her for a 5 day long house sit, and we have a full house with multiple different animals to care for, one of which is a very anxious, large dog with daily medication. Everyone was well loved and cared for while we were gone, our home looked like it did on the day we left (and we did a big pre-vacation clean, so that says a lot!) and we got daily updates and pictures with our happy little zoo. Normally when we leave we can tell our pets were stressed when we come home, but this time it looked like they were more disappointed that Bree left 😂. It was a huge help for us given how worried we were as first time Rover users; we spent half the drive home talking about how excited we are to book another trip knowing how well things worked out!”
“Empathy, patience, caring, followed instructions to the T. One can get almost so scared to leave a great review because everyone will want to hire her after this. So, I’m making sure to book weeks in advance. Caring for dogs, especially one like ours who doesn’t like people, was our first time away, and Natasha had no hesitation from the very beginning. She was confident in her skills. But no kidding, she stayed in our home fully devoted to our dog even though she has a family and a child. She understood the assignment. It’s like she has a master’s degree or Ph.D. in dealing with and working around our little one. I can’t thank her enough. We’ll definitely be using her again. We tipped her in cash because I like cash. So Rover please do not think this review was left in lieu of placing a tip on your portal. Rover, our beats WAG any day and I will only recommend and use Rover”

“Amanda is awesome… We were nervous about having a stranger watch our Stella girl. But we found out almost immediately that we had picked the right sitter. We will definitely use her again.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Lighthouse Point is $55

Absolutely amazing experience. She was truly the best, and my dog had the best time with her. She was incredibly attentive, caring, and dedicated so much time and energy to playing with her and making sure she was happy and comfortable. It was clear how much she genuinely cared, and I felt completely confident knowing he was in such great hands. I highly recommend her and will 100% book with her again!

Kasy is the first sitter we used on Rover and the first one since we’ve had our dog that truly cared for him and our home. She sent many updates each day, including photos and her communications were so appreciated! We trusted & saw that our beloved pup was well cared for & happy! Highly recommend!!!

Bruce is great. My Great Dane is very sweet and fun but he’s a giant energetic handful and Bruce is up to the task! He stayed at my house and he even took him to the dog park regularly which is not easy ( though it’s fun). Bruce is communicative and trustworthy. I highly recommend him.

Kailee was so wonderful with our animals. She communicated very well and I could see they all felt very comfortable with her. She was even able to get my three very scared kitties to come out of their hiding spots. I would 100% recommend Kailee for all of your pet-sitting needs!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lighthouse Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lighthouse Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lighthouse Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lighthouse Point. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
