“Suzanne was so great watching Tully at my place. I received lots of picture updates so I never had to worry how my dog was doing. Really takes that layer of stress off when I have to travel.”

“Devan was absolutely amazing with our shy greyhound. He is terrified of strangers, and yet within an hour of meeting our dog, Devan was able to rub his belly. It was such a relief for us to know that our dog was able to stay home with her. She is so calming for him, and was able to take him on long walks, which is normally very difficult for him. Devan sent us regular updates, including pictures and videos. Our home was spotless when we returned, she was incredibly respectful. We are so grateful for Devan and look forward to her watching our dog in the future.”

“Isabel was phenomenal with my three month old puppy. She took great care of him, followed my care schedule that I do with him. She did the same thing. My puppy requires a lot of care and constant supervision and she made sure everything was safe and sent me the cutest pics of my puppy throughout the day. I was able to go to work everyday relieved knowing that Isabella was taking care of my puppy!”

“We knew our dog was in very good hands with Stephanie Ralph was well taken care of as he is a bit of a high maintenance bull dog Great to come home to a happy dog”

“Isabel was an absolute delight! I was a little nervous booking with someone new, but the moment she came over to meet our dogs, I felt completely at ease. She kept us updated throughout our trip and sent plenty of photos. It was clear they were getting lots of love and attention—when we got home, they were relaxed and happy, so I knew they’d been well cared for. She will be my first call the next time I need someone to watch my boys.”

About: I’ve had all kinds of peta all my 57 years of life’ and promise to treat them with love and care like they were my own. I am taking care of animals full time with the exception of an occasional housekeeping client here and there. I can be available for your babies whenever you need me. I prefer to watch your babies in their own home so they feel most comfortable with their smells and toys. I believe this is far less stressful for them.

About: I grew up with a dog named Rocky, who was part of my family for many years until he passed away 3 years ago. Taking care of him taught me patience, responsibility and how important pets truly are. I’m comfortable feeding, walking, playing with and giving pets attention and companionship. Friends and family have also trusted me to help care for their pets when needed. I genuinely love animals and understand how important it is to leave them with someone trustworthy and caring. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most days, including Saturdays and weekends. I have plenty of time to give pets attention, walks, playtime and consistent care. I understand how important routines are for animals and will make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe and cared for while you’re away. I always make sure pets are supervised, safe and comfortable in my care. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, walks and any instructions provided by the owner. I understand every pet has a different personality and comfort level, so I try to create a calm and caring environment where they feel secure and loved.
“Maysa was very good. She kept in contact with me daily, sent pictures and a video. Very nice lady. One thing she doesn’t speak English too well but that was a problem at all.”

“The service that Candace provided for my animals was beyond impressive and professional. This was my first time ever using a pet sitter and I believe that we will continue to use Candace in the future. My girls were treated like royalty and my foster kittens didn't even realize I wasn't there. I was nervous about leaving my new puppy, only three months old, but Candace did a great job reinforcing what she has already been taught. She also sent me multiple pictures and videos of my animals while I was away, in addition to sending me several daily updates. I would definitely recommend Candace to anyone who needs a pet sitter.”
“Shannon is a godsend. She has been SO AMAZING with my pup. Not only did he take to her quickly, but she is thorough and communicative and kept me constantly updated throughout the stay. I’m so happy I found her and will be booking again for sure!!”

“Gesar and Romy are fan-freaking-tastic! I would give them 10 stars instead of 5 if I could. I will recommend them to everyone I know and they come with my highest level of recommendation. We have a sick 15 year lab, and a very playful 2 year old hound, that we were very nervous to leave for several days as our lab requires so much care of late, and our hound has tons of energy. Gesar and Romy to the rescue! They stayed at our house and took excellent care of each pup fulfilling each one’s individual needs. All the while sending updates and adorable pictures of walks and nap time. Our home was in great shape when we returned. They are just amazing people. I can’t thank them enough. The only problem is that I think our pups like them better than us now. ;)”

“Amazing communication, respect for our home, and attentive care for our dog. We are so thankful! When we came home, Teddy was calm, relaxed and not depressed. Our house was clean and well cared for. She went above and beyond with communication to make my anxious dog mom heart calm.”

“Alex was the best stand in fur mama I could have asked for. She treated my pups as if they were her own. Upon a house visit, while I was away on vacation, she discovered that my AC had broken. She immediately and lovingly volunteered to take her own pups to her mom’s house so that she could bring mine to stay at hers. Thankfully, I was able to get repairs done that day. While I was making arrangements she sat in her car with them, AC blasting, so that they could stay cool. She dropped them off a daycare for me, while the AC repair guy was working his magic. Then picked them up, brought them home, and cuddled them on the couch. None of this was what she was hired to do, she truly went above and beyond! And she did so in such a nurturing and happily willing manor. I am sooooo grateful they were in the care of someone who clearly and genuinely loves dogs. I will most definitely use Alex’s services again and recommend her to anyone who wants their pups well taken care of.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pompano Beach Highlands
Lisa took such good care of Yogi and on short notice. I could tell Yogi was attached to her. He followed her around as she was getting ready to leave when I got home. Right there, that told me Lisa was sweet and attentive to Yogi during the day and a half I was away. Definitely recommended.

Kasy is the first sitter we used on Rover and the first one since we’ve had our dog that truly cared for him and our home. She sent many updates each day, including photos and her communications were so appreciated! We trusted & saw that our beloved pup was well cared for & happy! Highly recommend!!!

Izabela was fantastic with our senior dog Kayla. She sent daily updates, played with her everyday, and was very respectful of the house. After our 10 day trip, we came home to a happy dog and a clean house. She was responsible, communicative, followed directions. I would highly recommend hiring her if you need someone you trust to watch your dog!

Spirit was absolutely incredible!! We have never felt more comfortable on a trip knowing that our dogs were in such great hands. Spirit sent constant updates and photos which we loved. She was very communicative and had great attention to detail. She’s super sweet and caring, our dogs got lots of love and cuddles, I’m sure they already miss her! Thank you Spirit for going above and beyond, we’re so grateful for everything you did <3

Bruce is great. My Great Dane is very sweet and fun but he’s a giant energetic handful and Bruce is up to the task! He stayed at my house and he even took him to the dog park regularly which is not easy ( though it’s fun). Bruce is communicative and trustworthy. I highly recommend him.

We had the absolute BEST experience with Gracie! She stayed in our home for 5 days, and I truly cannot say enough good things. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our pups (and our home) were in such caring hands. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which meant so much while we were away. Our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly so well loved when we returned — which tells you everything you need to know. Our home was spotless, our routine was respected, and she went above and beyond in ways we didn’t even expect. It’s not easy trusting someone with your fur babies and your space, but she made it effortless. We are so grateful and will absolutely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for someone dependable, communicative, and genuinely kind - she’s it!

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! would highly recommend Sheena. This was the very first time I left my two babies with someone I didn’t know, which was incredibly difficult for me. I usually travel alone, but after recently getting engaged, my fiancé and I decided to spend two weeks in Europe over Christmas. Inviting someone into my home and trusting them with my dogs—who truly are my babies—was extremely nerve-racking. I met with Sheena about a month and a half before our trip to make sure the dogs were comfortable, and they immediately took to her. That alone gave me peace of mind. Sheena house-sat for two weeks and went above and beyond in every way. She rarely left the home, ensured my dogs were always well cared for, and provided consistent updates throughout the day. When we returned, my home was left in immaculate condition—honestly better than I expected. I don’t trust easily, so this was a big step for me, but Sheena exceeded all expectations. I would absolutely recommend her and will be using her again for all future travels.

Kailee was so wonderful with our animals. She communicated very well and I could see they all felt very comfortable with her. She was even able to get my three very scared kitties to come out of their hiding spots. I would 100% recommend Kailee for all of your pet-sitting needs!

Empathy, patience, caring, followed instructions to the T. One can get almost so scared to leave a great review because everyone will want to hire her after this. So, I’m making sure to book weeks in advance. Caring for dogs, especially one like ours who doesn’t like people, was our first time away, and Natasha had no hesitation from the very beginning. She was confident in her skills. But no kidding, she stayed in our home fully devoted to our dog even though she has a family and a child. She understood the assignment. It’s like she has a master’s degree or Ph.D. in dealing with and working around our little one. I can’t thank her enough. We’ll definitely be using her again. We tipped her in cash because I like cash. So Rover please do not think this review was left in lieu of placing a tip on your portal. Rover, our beats WAG any day and I will only recommend and use Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pompano Beach Highlands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pompano Beach Highlands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pompano Beach Highlands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
