“This was the first time we used Rover to pet sit our senior pup, Verbena, so we were slightly nervous (me more than my partner). We can't say enough good things about Kristina. She communicated and sent updates/pictures very often, making the experience so much easier for us. Kristina took excellent care of Verbena and catered to all her quirks (she's an old lady). She also took care of the house. There is no doubt we will be using Kristina in the future.”

“Heather was amazing. She was able to care for our difficult older cat like a pro. Our cat required two medications twice a day, including an injection, and our cat doesn't do well with stranger but she did great with Heather. Heather let us know everytime when she completed the shot which really put our minds at ease. We ended up book her again for two more trips these coming months.”

About: * Long walks, happy paws, and loving care. * Where every walk feels like an adventure. * Treating your pets like they’re my own. * Making tails wag and pet parents smile. * Trusted pet care with a lifelong love of animals. After recently retiring, I now have the freedom to spend my time caring for pets. Staying active is important to me, and my daily 4-mile walks make me a great companion for dogs who enjoy exercise, adventure, and lots of attention. I specialize in drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting at your home so your pets can stay where they feel most at ease.
“We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Stephanie! From the very first meeting, she made us all feel so comfortable. She is truly a dog person who goes above and beyond for every pup in her care. We have two dogs with very different needs: one is reactive, and the other has ongoing medical requirements. Finding someone we trust with both of them felt daunting but Stephanie came in with calmness, confidence, and knowledge, knowing exactly how to approach our reactive dog and handling our other pup's medical needs with skill and care. Stephanie was wonderful at keeping me in the loop and made it obvious that our dogs' comfort and wellbeing were her top priority. We feel so incredibly lucky to have found her and will asolutely be booking with her again. If you have dogs with special needs, look no further!”

“Erika is professional, kind, responsible, and kept me updated on my pup while I was away. I had her stay at my home while I was away. She was clean and organized and make sure to send me pictures of my little guy. She was excellent and I highly recommend.”

“Over and above. She took great care of pets and they love her. Great communication and fun pics of animals. Already booked her for my next trip. It is so nice to be able to relax and know animals are well taken care of.”

“Scarlett took such wonderful care of our dog, Snow Cone! She was so kind, flexible to a couple of last minute changes, and took lots of great photos. She communicated really well with us, with very prompt responses, and asked great questions during the meet and greet. We are excited to book her again soon!”

“Rose was just awesome with our two elderly dogs. She is kind and gentle and they immediately liked her. Rose was an excellent communicator and took a lot of time getting to better understand their unique care needs.”

“Coralee was absolutely incredible. She was very communicative and sent beautiful pictures. She really understood my sensitive baby, and he warmed up quickly to her and clearly felt comfortable and safe. Coralee also was patient and responsive when our travel plans got disrupted, and kept my baby company much later than we originally planned. I very highly recommend her.”

“Stephanie was great with our rescue, Molly. We had never left her before and were very nervous about it. Molly warmed up to her quickly and Stephanie was great with her. I would highly recommend her to care for any of your furry family members!!!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for years through family, friends, and neighbors, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all energy levels! I grew up with a hyper poodle-terrier mix, so I’m very comfortable with energetic dogs and active playtime. I also currently have a mellow, cuddly polydactyl Russian Blue cat, so I’m comfortable with both high-energy pets and calmer ones. As a law student, I take responsibility seriously and pride myself on being reliable, attentive, and detail-oriented. I’ll make sure your pets feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding schedules, administering basic medications, and giving pets extra patience and attention when needed. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout the stay. I’m currently waiting to start my summer job in June, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m available throughout the week for overnight stays, walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and check-ins. I’m happy to accommodate different routines and care needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home. I’ll make sure to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m attentive during walks and always respectful of my client’s homes and instructions.
About: I’ve have been walking and taking care of dogs for the last 5 years now. From puppies to senior dogs that require medication, or stroller walks I am a full time dog sitter/ tutor, so I’ll have time to walk and play with your pooches. I am available Monday’s, Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons, Fridays and weekends. I have a fenced yard and 1 small male dog, (5.5 yrs old). I have 3 kids ( 20,18 and 15). My husband works from home 2 times a week as well.
“Gemma housesat for me for 3 days/2 nights, watching my blind dog and senior cat. My dog requires a fair bit of attention, not only for his blindness but also for the impact of his long-term, high dose of daily prednisone. She took him on slow walks and played his special version of ball. All animals seemed happy and well-cared for when I returned. Gemma also did an amazing job of cleaning everything that she and the animals had used, including when the animals had accidents (I'm sure it was cleaner than how my husband had left it!). I would definitely hire Gemma again.”

About: I grew up with a dog for 18 years, watching him go from playful pup to wise old boy. I've experienced every stage of a dog's life firsthand — young, middle-aged, and senior — so I'm comfortable and caring no matter your dog's age I am able to walk dogs and do drop-in visits. I have a flexible schedule at the moment, so I can adjust to you and your pet's needs! I Since I offer dog walking, most of my care happens out in the neighborhood. I always keep dogs secure on leash, stay attentive, and make sure every walk is safe and enjoyable.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over seven years through the Wag! platform in addition to friends and family’s pups, and have experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. Over time, I’ve discovered that I truly excel with smaller, calmer, and more mellow dogs—and that’s where my focus is for Rover. I take a gentle, attentive approach to dog care, paying close attention to each dog’s comfort level, routine, and preferences. I’m especially mindful of dogs who thrive in quieter, low-stress environments and do best with patience and consistency. Whether it’s relaxed walks, cozy companionship, or simply maintaining their normal routine, my goal is always to create a safe, low-stress experience where dogs feel secure, respected, and genuinely cared for. Pet care is my top priority. My schedule is flexible so I may step away for some dog walks, but I am mindful of my schedule and adjust taking additional walks accordingly. I take safety, trust, and comfort very seriously in both my home and my clients’ homes. I approach every pet with patience and respect, allowing them time to adjust and feel secure in a new environment or routine. In my home, I maintain a calm, clean, and pet-friendly space that’s especially well-suited for smaller, mellow pets. I have a fully fenced yard, and all outdoor time is closely supervised to ensure safety at all times. I’m mindful of doors, gates, and potential hazards, and I create a quiet environment where pets can relax without unnecessary stress or overstimulation. I closely follow each pet’s routine, feeding instructions, and any specific care preferences shared by their owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat the space with the same respect and attention as my own. I follow all instructions carefully, maintain consistency with the pet’s normal schedule, and ensure their environment remains safe, familiar, and comfortable. I’m attentive to changes in behavior or mood and communicate promptly with owners if anything seems out of the ordinary. Above all, I aim to build trust—both with pets and their people—by being reliable, observant, and genuinely attentive to each pet’s well-being.
About: I’ve been a pet sitter for a few years now. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, and puppies as young as 6 weeks old. I have a deep love for animals and want to start a career as a vet tech. For now, I’m looking to work as close to full time as possible to save up for school. My schedule is very open right now, and I’m available weekends and holidays. I prefer to do extended stays, and will give them priority as far as bookings go. I’m available to watch your pets in your home, but I cannot provide boarding services at this time. I’m happy to do some additional tasks while I’m there, such as watering plants and doing light cleaning.

“We came in from out of town for a concert. Sydney was great with our girl Lola. He was also very accommodating and flexible with his time. I’d definitely choose Sydney again when we’re back up this way.”

“Jennifer is so awesome, considerate and caring. I was a bit nervous using this service, but once I met Jennifer, I immediately liked her and felt more at ease. She took great care of our pup and our home. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington Hills
Heather was amazing. I could not ask for anyone better. Before I left, my cat became sick. Not only did she tale excellent care of my two active dogs, she nursed my sick, elderly cat. Taking the time to administer her meds. She had the patience to feed my cat often. My dogs loved her. Heather made sure they had exercise. She played with them. Cuddled them. I could tell by all the updates sent, they had a great time. I was very anxious to leave on vacation. Almost canceled my trip. Happy I didn’t. Became clear to me that my pets were left in very capable hands. Will use Heather again.

Annabelle did an amazing job watching our girls, as always! She sent tons of pictures, had great communication, and she even took our dogs on a few field trips to the coffee shop and to her house to play with her dogs. We were able to completely relax on our 2 week vacation knowing they were in good hands ❤️

Bex was awesome! She took care of my sick bulldog while i was away and kept me informed everyday on his condition. She even took him to the vet for me so he didn’t miss an appointment to be checked. I will happily request Bex to watch my fur babies again. Thank you, Bex!

FAQs for House Sitting - Lexington Hills
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lexington Hills on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,517 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lexington Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lexington Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lexington Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lexington Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
