“Jennifer was great with my 5 fur babies!! They all warmed up to her super fast. She sent pics and updates every day. I came home to happy animals. I would love to book her again in the future.”

“Zoe is incredible!!! She bonded with my dogs in quick order and did a spectacular job of caring for them and loving on them while I was on vacation. I highly recommend her. She is thoughtful, compassionate, and thorough, and even cleaned up everything before she left, leaving me with a very clean comfortable home to return to. She is a gem!!”

“Toryn was an absolute DREAM watching our home, cat Woodrow, and beloved dog Jonah while we were gone for four days. Jonah is a special needs, epileptic dog, and it takes someone with patience and a lot of love to give to take care of him, and I always felt that he was safe with Toryn! She constantly kept us in the loop with his seizures, took him on adventures, and took amazing photos! As a Rover sitter myself, I have a high standard for his care, and Toryn exceeded them. We are so grateful to her and will 100% be booking her again in the future.”

About: I've always grown up around animals, I've never even lived in a home without some kind of furry friend. I've had dogs since I was younger than 5 and my family used to foster for a program in Alabama called a New Leash on Life. I've had my own dog since college and he is dog reactive. Through patience and consistency, he's now able to comfortably play with other dogs while still understanding his own limits. I genuinely love animals and this seems like a great opportunity to spend time with some without adopting 16 more pets. Since I work full-time during the week, pet care fits best into my weekends. I can also help on weeknights after 6pm, with no conflicts. My schedule can be flexible with enough prep time. I don’t offer boarding in my own home, but I’m happy to come to yours for potty breaks, playtime, and overnight sitting. I make sure pets get the attention they need — whether that’s exercise, cuddles, or just keeping their routine consistent. During overnights, I stay attentive to their comfort and safety, so you can feel confident they’re well. I can accommodate any weird or fun quirks that your pet has because mine definitely has more than a few.

About: I've owned a dog most of my life. I love dogs, but at this stage of life, I find it more rewarding to care for other people's pets and not own one of my own. I had a black lab for 14 years. She was my best friend. I'm sure you feel the same way, which is why you are looking for a sitter. Why place your pet in a kennel when I can stay with them in the home they know? Take that long weekend, or extended stay, knowing your home and pet are safe under my care. I'm an early riser. The dog is often my alarm clock. I prefer to let the dog out in a fenced yard. If the dog is well-trained on a leash, I can walk it and pick up droppings. We enjoy breakfast. I avoid people food, no matter how much they beg, unless you tell me otherwise. Active dogs want to play. Most will show me their favorite toy or game. I am retired but work from home. I am an artist and post my work online. I will ask for your wifi connection. Most pets stay with me while I work. We take frequent breaks to play, cuddle, or go out. The dog tells me what he/she is used to, along with your instructions. I'll follow your feeding and treats schedule to the letter. Later in the day, we watch TV. Many dogs enjoy Animal Planet or sporting events. I am an NFL fan and find many pets like the games too. At bedtime, I am OK if your pet wants to sleep with me. I find that a family with a fenced yard works best for your dog and for me. Your pet may act differently on a leash around other people or animals with me than they do with you. Keeping them safely in a yard avoids them breaking free of their collar or tangling with another dog. I will rarely need to leave your home during my stay, but if I do, your pet will be secured per your instructions and your home locked.
“Megan and Lee are awesome! It was so lovely getting to do a meet and greet before we left on our trip. They took wonderful care of the pets and I really enjoyed getting photos of the happy animals while we were away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Landen
Julie was an amazing sitter for our golden retriever, Murphy! She made an effort to meet him prior to booking. When we were out of town, she sent us several pictures of their adventures, communicated with us if she needed anything, and made sure our dog was well taken care of. I’d recommend Julie to anyone looking for an in house sitter!!

Dogsitter Acele was fantastic! She was punctual, professional, and took the time to ask thoughtful questions to truly understand my dog’s needs and routine. I really appreciated the photo updates she sent, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. Overall, a wonderful experience — I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive dog sitter!

Amber has been an incredible dog sitter for our family for the past few years, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. Her communication is excellent—she always provides multiple updates while we’re away, which gives us total peace of mind. Our pets are clearly well cared for and loved, and it’s obvious she treats them as if they were her own. She’s also extremely respectful of our home and takes great care of it while we’re gone. It’s such a relief to know we can travel without worry, knowing Amber has everything handled. We’re so grateful to have found her!

Lilly did a wonderful job staying in our home with our sheltie who needed some extra TLC. She followed our sheltie's medication regimen perfectly, took her for walks and sent frequent pics. The home was spotless when we returned home and she went above and beyond and watered our 30+ outdoor flower pots to keep the plants alive in the blistering heat! Lilly was responsive and responsible - a great pet sitter!

As of July 2026, there are 1,579 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Landen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Landen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Landen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Landen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
