Julie was so helpful to us! She took care of our elderly dog and skittish kitty with as much love as we would have. She provided regular updates and photos and even did light housekeeping for us-that we didn’t expect at all!! I highly recommend Julie for your pets and home.

Absolutely the best Rover experience ever. Savannah was an absolute pleasure to work with. She communicated very well, was consistent with her updates and pictures and was so kind and courteous. My dogs looked very happy in the pictures she sent and she went above and beyond for them. I'd absolutely, 💯%, recommend her to anyone, unless it's when I need her, then you can't lol.

Thor and Lilac absolutely adore Katjerine, which tells me everything I need to know. They’re always happy and comfortable with her, and I have complete peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands. She’s dependable, caring, and clearly a true dog person. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch them again. Highly recommend!

Abby is amazing! She took great care of my dogs - one huge and unsocialized, the other elderly. She is caring and responsible. She made me feel very comfortable that all was well while I was away. She also straightened up and left the light on for me the night of my return. I definitely recommend Abby and will hire her again!

We couldn’t recommend Debbie enough!!!! She was (miraculously) available fairly last minute for our trip and from the word go, she was top notch! Our home and puppy Philomena were so well cared for while we were away. Debbie sent us plenty (but not too many) of snapshots and occasional videos of Phil living her best life while we were away. Thank you Debbie for being Phil’s new friend and we can’t wait to have you back again!. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, ‘no notes’ as the saying goes. 🥰.

About: Ive been pet sitting since I was 12 years old and have only gained experience and skills since then. Ive been boarding, training, walking, and feeding animals of all sorts for years. I’m a very flexible person. If your baby needs multiple walks, a strict schedule, or just a lot of affection I’m enthusiastic to fill their needs. I have experience with all ages, blind, deaf, and other needs, various breeds, and sizes. I also have experience with emergency medical care and administering medications. My work history also includes handling and caring for multiple dogs at once. In addition to that, I also have experience working with animals that cannot be around other dogs or animals and know how safely care for them. Safety, health, and happiness of the animals is my priority in that order. I can make my own schedule so I have open availability. Evenings, weekends, or holidays. None are a conflict. I keep my calendar up to date. I have two fenced in dog parks on my property. I'm minutes away from multiple parks with trails. I make sure I follow the given schedule but at the same time offer new and stimulating experiences

About: I have been helping to care for dogs since I was 10. I grew up with golden retrievers in the home and have been around dogs my entire life. Our Rottweiler recently passed away and my daughter and her were best friends! I am not ready to have a dog back in the house full time but have realized, after dog sitting for a friends puppy, this would be a great way to help care for others pets. I work from home so I am able to take frequent breaks for walks and potty breaks. I would not make myself available to care for anyone’s pets if I knew I was going to be out of the house for long periods of time. I also have a dog park in my neighborhood. I do not have a large yard, however; I do have a dog park in my neighborhood that is large and fenced in for great exercise. We would take frequent walks with my daughter around the neighborhood as well.

About: Many years of owning and taking care of all types of dogs! If boarding nightly at my house I have to have hypoallergenic because of my son’s allergies. I have a fenced in yard and I take dogs on walks multiple times a day! I have a little shorkie male dog who is fixed, and loves to play with dogs! Would love to do a meet and greet!! I work from home and adore having animals to play with and take on walks! I have a lovely walking neighborhood here! Or i can come to your neighborhood! I do multiple walks daily and have a fenced in yard! Also seperate play and boarding areas (basement & upper floor) to separate dogs if needed as well! I can do any services needed! I love caring for animals, can do drop ins to your house, walks, or boarding at my home or yours! Whatever is best for your particular animal I can usually accommodate!

About: I've owned and cared for pets since I was in middle school. I own a lovable and silly orange tabby cat who lives with me and my wife in our apartment. I currently help my parents take care of their 2 labradors; one chocolate and one yellow, while they are at work during the week. I'd like to offer the same service and love to your furry friends. I am generally available every day of the week, except on a Sunday. If needed badly, I can do Sundays, but only 1pm or after. I make it a point to follow instructions very carefully in order that your pet gets everything they need and deserve. (medications, walks, vet visits[if necessary], etc.)

About: I’ve always loved animals and have experience caring for dogs and cats for people close to me. I’m comfortable taking dogs on walks, cleaning up after them, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m patient, dependable, and understand that every pet has a different personality and routine. My goal is to make both you and your pet feel comfortable and cared for throughout every visit. Since it’s the summertime prior to the college season, I have a flexible schedule and am available most days of the week. I’m happy to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention for your dogs, cats, and other small pets. Teresa did a wonderful job of taking care of our dog for 11 days. I usually send my dog to a kennel, but she has picked up too many diseases from the kennel and was recovering from kennel cough. I was hesitant to use someone I barley knew. But, I’m so glad I hired Teresa! She took our dog on daily walks and sent the cutest pictures! She even went the extra mile cleaning her sheets. Our dog was happy and healthy when we got home. I’ll definitely use her again in the future and I would highly recommend her.

John was great taking care of our dog, cat, and house while we were away. He was super responsive, sent lots of pictures and updates, and made us very comfortable. He also had a lot of patience dealing with our challenging senior dog who is very wary of strangers. He put in work to make her feel comfortable and begin to relax. Will be booking again for sure.

Julie did a great job taking care of our 3 dogs, home and flowers. While we were away she sent photos and updates on how they were doing. She made sure they had a lot of activity with walks and ball playing. When we returned the dogs howled and whined when she left! They didn’t want her to go! The house was vacuumed and clean. She is your dream sitter. I will definitely hire her again! Thanks, Julie!

Zoey is hands down the best dog sitter we’ve had! She kept in contact with us throughout our week long trip, sending updates and pics. She even did a birthday photoshoot for our husky. There was a significant storm while we were away and she reached out to see if there was anything she needed to take care of in the yard to prepare. Our golden retriever is also afraid of thunder and she gave him extra cuddles throughout the week. We will definitely book again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hopkinsville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hopkinsville on Rover is $37.45 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,551 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hopkinsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hopkinsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hopkinsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hopkinsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hopkinsville. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
