“We so appreciated Nicole’s visit and care of our Minnie while we were out of town for our grandsons’ football game! It gave us such a peace of mind knowing Nicole would be giving Minnie a break and potty walk and cuddles too! We appreciate her so much!”

Able to pay close attention to your pet and take on regular walks. Will ensure your pet has plenty of exercise and feels comfortable in our home. About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always the one bringing home strays, and apparently, I never outgrew that animal-loving gene! My daughter and I used to enjoy caring for pets through Rover together when she was younger. Now that she’s off to college, I suddenly have a much quieter house and a lot more free time than I’m used to. I thought returning to Rover would be the perfect way to fill some of that empty-nest space with something I truly love: spending time with animals and giving them plenty of attention, affection, and care. I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy, dependable, and caring looking after your pet while you're away. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is being treated with the same love and attention I would want for my own. I currently work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to spend with your pet. Whether they enjoy long walks, playing, relaxing together, or curling up for some extra snuggles, I'm happy to give them the companionship they need. I love taking long walks, have plenty of patience, and, most importantly, I have lots of love and snuggles to go around! ❤️🐶🐱 I would love the opportunity to become one of your pet's favorite people while you're away! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I work from home and now have an empty nest, so I have plenty of time and flexibility for walks, playtime, snuggles, and personalized attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine while providing dependable care, companionship, exercise, and plenty of affection.
“Jan was amazing!!! I have an anxious rescue dog who is still trying to get used to her surroundings, and she absolutely loved Jan. She was very communicative and sent me photos throughout the day. This was my first time using Rover and I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with her!”

“Kara was amazing with my two huskies! They seemed to really take to her, and she sent daily pictures of them along with narrative updates. I would definitely rebook with Kara again!”

I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow each pet’s individual routine, including feeding schedules, playtime, and any special instructions. About: I’ve owned several dogs over the years, and have helped family and friends with their dogs as well. I adopted a reactive pit bull and trained her, making great progress in her ability to meet new people, animals, and have new experiences, and want to help care for other animals now that she has passed. Happy to work with all kinds of dogs! I work from home so I am available during the day for quick walks and potty breaks, with time for a longer walk at lunchtime. In evenings, I often have theater rehearsals or recreational sports leagues, but am able to come home within a few hours. I am very comfortable in any environment, and I am willing to work in whichever way will make you more comfortable for your pet’s needs.
About: I've taken care of cats for about 12 years and I'm very good with my friends' dogs. I tend to get along very well with animals and I love taking care of them! I am very patient and kind with animals. I'll make sure I'm thorough about discussing your pets' needs with you and will follow your instructions well

About: Hi! I am Nilly, I am a certified Medical Assistant. I went to Middle Tennessee State University for my bachelor in psychology and I have received my MA certification through Vanderbilt University. My experience in healthcare has taught me the importance of being patient, attentive, responsible, and gentle when caring for others—qualities I bring into every pet-sitting experience. I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always been something very close to my heart. I’ve grown up with German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, and Corgis, so I’m familiar with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and individual needs. Dogs have always brought me so much joy, and I truly love spending time with them, whether that means going for walks, playing, giving plenty of cuddles, or simply keeping them company. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pet in someone else’s care. My goal is to make that experience as comfortable and worry-free as possible for both you and your furry family member. I will treat your pet with the same love, patience, and attention I would want for my own. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being are my top priorities, and I would be honored to care for your four-legged family members while you’re away. 🐾❤️ My schedule is flexible and depends on each client’s needs. I’m happy to work with you to create a schedule that fits your pet’s routine, whether that includes daily visits, walks, feeding, or overnight care. I’ll plan my schedule accordingly to make sure your furry family members receive the time, attention, and care they deserve. I care for pets in their own home by following their usual routines and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I provide fresh food and water, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention and affection. I also respect each client’s home and follow any specific instructions to ensure their furry family members receive personalized care while their owners are away.
About: My friends and family have trusted me with their dogs for years, and I grew up with a dog of my own, so I know how to keep pups happy, safe and on their routine. With no pets of my own right now, your dog gets 100% of my attention, plus regular photo updates so you can relax while you're away. I work fully remote, so I'm home most of the day and can keep your pet right on their normal schedule. I also love being outdoors, so walks are already part of my daily routine. Your dog gets plenty of exercise, attention and company, never long hours alone. Safety comes first. My home is smoke-free and quiet, with no children and no other pets, so your dog gets a calm space and my full attention. I don't have a fenced yard, so dogs are always leashed outside, which means no escapes and no unsupervised yard time. I have crates, toys and backup food on hand. In your home, I'll follow your routine, keep doors and gates secure, and send regular updates.

About: I started to house/pet sit in 2012 and have been doing it 2-3 times a year ever since. I mostly have taken care of dogs, but have taken care of a couple of cats. I have a full time job on the south side of Indy. I work Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:00. I’m able to feed and take outside before heading to work (if staying at a client’s house) and after work, can take out, feed, and hang out with the pet(s). At a client’s home, I make sure dogs go out and potty and run around if they want to. I always check to see if the pets have plenty of water and give treats, per client’s directions. If a pet has an accident in the house, I will clean it up.
About: Whether you’re heading out of town or just working a long day, I’m here to give you peace of mind. As a retired HR professional: trust, patience and respect meant everything. Pet sitting is no difference;; so, rest assured your family will have my respect, attention, and energy. I treat every dog in my care like my own, prioritizing their comfort, energy levels, and routine. I’m essentially a puppy at heart and Slave to Velcro Aussies - I’m broken in and well trained in: endless playtime cycles, mutual grooming (I use brush - they use tongue 😞), big/little spoon naps (I always loose my pillow!), and 100% of my undivided attention.with no distractions tolerated. I’m currently a full-time Aussie Daddy…based out of my home in Carmel. My attention is puppy-centric most of day and don’t mind one bit. I’m surrounded by toddler mentality at al times! What you can count on: Tailored Care: Strict adherence to your feeding schedules, exercise routines, and house rules. Regular Updates: Photo updates and clear notes so you always know how your pup is doing. Safe & Stress-Free: Hands-on, attentive care with plenty of walks, play, and quiet snuggles. I’ve raised two children, and several rescued pets - everything is childproof, my anxiety alarm sounds if they’re …tooo… quiet, and expect their mood/wants to change every 5 minutes. Your pet gets first-class care and love, and you get total peace of mind. Reach out anytime to schedule a meet-and-greet!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lamong
Katarina was a great sitter! She had the dubious task of checking in on my fuzzies over the dreaded 4th of July holiday with all the fireworks. I have an old cat that needs medication and some extra cleanup care, a nervous young dog that needed a gentler approach to settle in and she did great with both. No one escaped the yard or the house and everyone was alive and happy when I got back. I got multiple photos while I was away (which my kiddo loved) along with a message about how they were doing. Katarina even brought in the packages that got dropped off in my absence! I love that my pets loved her so much and as quickly as they took a liking to her tells me she’s great at her job! I would 100% book her again if needed!

Chris was great with our dogs. We had an all day event and didn’t want the dogs to be alone the whole time so she stopped in several times, walked them, fed them, and made sure they had interaction throughout the day while we were gone. We are so appreciative and will definitely book with her again!

Madelyn was great with my animals! I booked last minute, right before Christmas. She was quick to reply and was able to do a meet-and-greet with my pets within 24 hours. She was timely and sent pictures of all of the animals. I will definitely be booking with Madelyn again!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
