“Lauren volunteered to come meet Vito before we hired her. I really appreciated that! I felt very confident with Vito being in her care while we were out for the night. I would definitely recommend Lauren!”

“I had to go out of town recently and Kristen completely exceeded my expectations. She was incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and went above and beyond to help me and Luna out during my absence. Her communication was excellent, and I felt completely at ease knowing she was handling things while I was away. Kristen is not only dependable but also genuinely caring - exactly the kind of person you want looking after your pet when you can’t be there. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone and will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future. Thank you, Kristen, for being such a lifesaver!”
“Great with Coco! She was reliable, communicative, and took good care of her while I was away. Coco seemed happy and well cared for when I got back. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again.”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always the one bringing home strays, and apparently, I never outgrew that animal-loving gene! My daughter and I used to enjoy caring for pets through Rover together when she was younger. Now that she’s off to college, I suddenly have a much quieter house and a lot more free time than I’m used to. I thought returning to Rover would be the perfect way to fill some of that empty-nest space with something I truly love: spending time with animals and giving them plenty of attention, affection, and care. I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy, dependable, and caring looking after your pet while you're away. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is being treated with the same love and attention I would want for my own. I currently work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to spend with your pet. Whether they enjoy long walks, playing, relaxing together, or curling up for some extra snuggles, I'm happy to give them the companionship they need. I love taking long walks, have plenty of patience, and, most importantly, I have lots of love and snuggles to go around! ❤️🐶🐱 I would love the opportunity to become one of your pet's favorite people while you're away! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I work from home and now have an empty nest, so I have plenty of time and flexibility for walks, playtime, snuggles, and personalized attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine while providing dependable care, companionship, exercise, and plenty of affection.

About: I have 9 years of experience caring for animals and have worked at two boarding kennels for over 3 years. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, cleaning, giving attention, and keeping pets safe and comfortable. I work part-time, but I have a flexible schedule and can make time for pet care. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and boarding depending on my work schedule. I graduate in December so my schedule will free up even more! I have over 3 years of professional experience working at boarding kennels, so I understand how important safety and supervision are. I provide a clean, calm, and comfortable environment and treat every pet with care and patience. I unfortunately cant really have pets over at my house due to having a reactive dog and a bird
“Elizabeth did a nice job for us over the holidays on short notice. Very responsive and easy to work with as our schedule changed and made sure Weber was well cared for.”

“Kristen was great with my dog Reggie and was so great working with me and my changing timeline for visits! I would definitely use her services again! Thank you so much for supporting us in our new adventure and for caring for Reggie when we couldn’t.”

“Mica was great! Let me know she was on her way! Was punctual and flexible on times we requested! Loved all of the photos. It gave us such a piece of Mind when we were away! Would 100% rebook with Mica!”

“Abby did a wonderful job and exceeded expectations! Abby was communicative and flexible. As this was my first time, she was the perfect person for Bella. I couldn’t recommend her enough and hope to continue to contact her first before using other people. Thank you so much Abby!!”

About: I truly love dogs and have been around them my whole life. From training my dog when she was a puppy, to caring for her as she got older. I truly am familiar with all sides of dogs! Right now, I am living away from home, so I am not caring for pets currently. However, at home I would regularly feed our dog, take her for walks, and do whatever other tasks were needed. I always put the dog first. I will never put them in an environment that is dangerous or will induce any stress for them. Additionally, I want them to be as happy as possible and will do whatever is needed for that as well.
“We really appreciated Katie’s responsiveness and great care she provided our pup. Highly recommend for anyone looking for piece of mind while leaving their pet in someone else’s care. Thanks Katie!”

About: I have cared for a number of cats and dogs over the years. I have two cats of my own. They are the light of my life. It will part of my daily routine. I will help in any way I can. I will work with visits in the morning and afternoon. I ensure they have play time, are feed, get love and treats and are taken out or litter box cleaned. Pets are a priority. Thank you.
“Raelyn did an amazing job looking after my two cats! She was very communicative about timing and provided plenty of update messages and photos. My kitties are shy but she was very patient with them and respected their boundaries, and they definitely warmed up to her over time! I had no question that they were being taken care of well and it provided me a lot of mental peace during my vacation. I will definitely book Raelyn again in the future!”

About: I have been babysitting and pet sitting for 5+ years. I love animals and always have! I love running around with them, taking them to the park, throwing their ball, playing tug of war, etc. Animals are family and should be treated as such! I am prepared for puppies all the way to old aged dogs. I have been around dogs my entire life and as they have provided me with happiness I intend to always do the same back. I am available to meet the animals before hand and have a meeting so that we know we are a right fit! Don’t hesitate to ask about any extra things while your gone like watering the plants, cleaning, or running errands. Me and your dog will have an amazing time! I am currently a nurse so my schedule is constantly changing. I typically work three 12hr shifts during the week! I just wanted to add this to my weekly regimen because this is something I did before becoming a nurse and miss. I am excited to meet you and your pets! I will care for your babies the same way I care for mine - with love, patience, and playfulness. I can also do extra care such as watering plants!

About: My 17 year old brownie passed in May 2026, and I had spent the last 15 years loving her, but her final 3 years caring for her in her old age. From cleaning the messes from an old bladder to hand-cooking her food for her allergies, I have learned the amount of care is different for each animal, and I am flexible with what is necessary to keep them happy. I am currently living a happy, unemployed life and excited to give your pet all the attention and time they need! Flexible on the weekends and weekdays. Your home is you and your pets’ safe space, and I respect every aspect of it and will keep it the way you left it. Clean, organized, and comfortable.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Big Springs
Lauran was super easy to work with. Set up dates on short notice to have her stop by and check on my cat and she checked all the boxes! She got along great with my cat despite having met him. She told me she was a cat mom herself so I’m sure that helps. I’ll book again on my next trip out of town for sure 😺

I've been a Rover sitter for years, but this was my first time hiring someone through Rover to care for my own pet, so I was definitely a little anxious. Lauran made the whole experience so easy. She kept me updated every visit with great messages and the cutest pictures, let me know exactly how my cat was doing and everything she took care of while she was there. She really put my mind at ease while I was away. I'd absolutely book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
