About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always the one bringing home strays, and apparently, I never outgrew that animal-loving gene! My daughter and I used to enjoy caring for pets through Rover together when she was younger. Now that she’s off to college, I suddenly have a much quieter house and a lot more free time than I’m used to. I thought returning to Rover would be the perfect way to fill some of that empty-nest space with something I truly love: spending time with animals and giving them plenty of attention, affection, and care. I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy, dependable, and caring looking after your pet while you're away. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is being treated with the same love and attention I would want for my own. I currently work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to spend with your pet. Whether they enjoy long walks, playing, relaxing together, or curling up for some extra snuggles, I'm happy to give them the companionship they need. I love taking long walks, have plenty of patience, and, most importantly, I have lots of love and snuggles to go around! ❤️🐶🐱 I would love the opportunity to become one of your pet's favorite people while you're away! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I work from home and now have an empty nest, so I have plenty of time and flexibility for walks, playtime, snuggles, and personalized attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine while providing dependable care, companionship, exercise, and plenty of affection.
“Great with Coco! She was reliable, communicative, and took good care of her while I was away. Coco seemed happy and well cared for when I got back. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again.”

“We’ve asked Andrea twice now to take care of our cat when we’re away, knowing our fur baby is in good hands. She’s wonderful about communicating and sending pics and we have no worries about her care. Thank you again, Andrea!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I can help with walks, runs, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, medication administration, and plenty of love and attention! My schedule is flexible while I pursue my next nursing position, allowing me to dedicate time and attention to your pets. I'd love the opportunity to meet your furry family members and give you peace of mind knowing they're in caring, capable hands! I recently moved back home from Colorado and am taking a little time to recharge before starting my next nursing chapter! I've been a nurse for five years and love caring for others, but I've always had a special soft spot for animals. My schedule is currently very flexible, and I'm available most days for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and cuddles. I'm happy to work with your pet's routine and provide attentive, reliable care while you're away! When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping them comfortable by maintaining their usual routines and following all instructions provided by their owners. I know pets feel most secure in familiar surroundings, so I take the time to get to know their individual personalities, needs, and preferences. I'm happy to help with feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, medication administration, and plenty of affection and companionship. I will always treat your home with respect and provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your furry family members are in good hands!

“Jazlin was wonderful with my cats!! It was such a relief knowing they were well cared for while I was away. Both cats warmed up to her! That means a lot. I hated the idea of them hiding...but I didn't need to worry...they both came out to meet her. She was super easy to work with and had great communication...I'd definitely book her again! Thanks, Jazlin!!!”

About: Taken care of family and friends pets for many years, very patient and willing to go the extra mile. No formal experience but been in a pet owning family my whole life. Currently living with my family and have many days free, always available on short notice and willing to do overnights. Have reliable transportation and a desire to meet new furry “customers”. Am very kind and understanding to all pet personalities, love to take walks and play. Informal training is a skill of mine and I love to see pets learn new things.
About: I truly love dogs and have been around them my whole life. From training my dog when she was a puppy, to caring for her as she got older. I truly am familiar with all sides of dogs! Right now, I am living away from home, so I am not caring for pets currently. However, at home I would regularly feed our dog, take her for walks, and do whatever other tasks were needed. I always put the dog first. I will never put them in an environment that is dangerous or will induce any stress for them. Additionally, I want them to be as happy as possible and will do whatever is needed for that as well.

About: I have a 1 year old mini schnauzer currently but have always been a dog lover! I am very used to the puppy up to adult dog phases. I have a dog myself so I am constantly training and keeping him and myself busy. I work from home as well so it works out well. I am very diligent with the things I feed him and allow him to play with that may harm him. I also keep things out of easy reach.
“Allíson was great and I will definitely ask her to watch the dogs again in the future. She did drop-in visita while I was out of town for a day and took care of three dogs. She was on time, checked in with notes and pictures during each visit. They all enjoyed her company and Allison is as professional as they come!”

“Emily did a great job with my dogs while we were away for our wedding day. From the moment my most standoffish boy immediately warmed up to her I knew she would be a great fit! She sent multiple check in photos which I loved! Will definitely be using her again.”

“Raelyn did an amazing job looking after my two cats! She was very communicative about timing and provided plenty of update messages and photos. My kitties are shy but she was very patient with them and respected their boundaries, and they definitely warmed up to her over time! I had no question that they were being taken care of well and it provided me a lot of mental peace during my vacation. I will definitely book Raelyn again in the future!”

About: I have trained a puppy from 9 weeks old, cared for senior dogs, dog sat for many friends and have had many of my own four-legged-best-friends! I work from home, so I will have plenty of time to spend with your little best friend! I take a walk every afternoon, and your pup will be able to join me, if they love walking. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
