“Jan was phenomenal with our almost 14 year old cat with diabetes. She kept in touch with me so we could determine the amount of insulin and took such good care of Yoda that I was amazed and thankful. Yoda has not been o left alone for more than 4 hours for at least 5 years. I was concerned how she would do but Jan took such good care of her that she was perfectly fine. I would ask her to care for Yoda again in a heartbeat.”

“Amanda took amazing care of our cat, and went above and beyond in communicating and sending updates. Truly anyone would be lucky to leave their pet in her care. She was detailed oriented and punctual. We will absolutely book her services again soon!”

“I've been a Rover sitter for years, but this was my first time hiring someone through Rover to care for my own pet, so I was definitely a little anxious. Lauran made the whole experience so easy. She kept me updated every visit with great messages and the cutest pictures, let me know exactly how my cat was doing and everything she took care of while she was there. She really put my mind at ease while I was away. I'd absolutely book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.”

“Lauren was so so kind to come meet our sweet pups before her visit! She sent wonderful pictures and a thorough description of her time in our home. We will use her again!”

“Katie gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation out of the country. She took great care of our kitties and had wonderful communication with daily updates and progress check ins. We will definitely be using her again for all our pet setting needs.”

About: Since I was 14, I’ve been responsible for taking care of my own dogs and those of my neighbors, family, and friends. I come from a large dog family, from a Great Pyrenees to Labs and German Shepherds, but I’ve also been able to care for smaller dogs in my neighborhood. I’ve also cared for sensitive and reactive dogs who came from hard backgrounds, so I have experience taking it slow to build trust. I also care for cats as well, with experience from my own 13 year old orange cat and my mom’s two crazy kittens. Whether it’s taking them on walks, playing tug of war, giving them meds, or just keeping them company, I love any time I get to spend with fur babies. I’m preparing to leave for a scholarship in Poland at the end of September after graduating with my Master’s degree in May, so my schedule is incredibly flexible. I am free most days and times with the exception of a few days with prior commitments throughout the summer. I strive to provide the best care with the utmost respect for you and your fur baby’s home. If there’s anything I should know about your pet’s care preferences or any neighborhood/environmental concerns, please let me know so that I may keep your pet safe at all times. I have experience with fenced in yards and open areas, as well as plenty of experience with flight risk dogs (those German Shepherds love to run!) and returning them safely home. My goal is to keep your pet and place safe and clean until you return home.
“Kara was amazing with my two huskies! They seemed to really take to her, and she sent daily pictures of them along with narrative updates. I would definitely rebook with Kara again!”

“Great with Coco! She was reliable, communicative, and took good care of her while I was away. Coco seemed happy and well cared for when I got back. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again.”

“Danielle comes twice a week and two times each of those days to take our dogs out. She is conscientious about documenting their time together and making sure they get exercise. Highly recommend.”

“Bryn was absolutely wonderful with our two kitties Simon & Benny. This was our first experience with Rover and we will definitely be reaching out to Bryn again for any future needs. Our Simon boy has been experiencing some recent health issues and as a result needed meds administered morning and night. Bryn was able to help with this as well as feeding and playing with our cats. She was kind, communicative, and helpful. Great experience all around. Thanks again, Bryn!”

About: I’ve been a pet parent my entire life starting with dogs and evolving to include cats, a bearded dragon, birds, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds and rabbits. Most of my pets have been rescues. I am a volunteer for the Hamilton County Humane Society where I help with cat socializing, cattery cleaning, and the Pet Smart adoption hub. As I retired earlier this year, I have an open and flexible schedule. Because I am retired, my schedule is very flexible and open. I can be available early mornings and for extended drop-in visits throughout the day and evening. As a long time pet owner, I am very aware of pet safety and security. Pets will be closely attended and supervised for all activities during my visits.
“Katarina was a wonderful sitter! She was communicative, timely, and clearly cares deeply about animals. She even scheduled a meet-and-greet before my booking to ensure both my comfort and my pet’s. I appreciated the updates while I was away, and Lincoln was happy and well cared for when I returned. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Jolietville
Anna did a great job of taking care of my cat. She was on time every day and she left notes and photos to help keep me informed of how my cat was doing. She was observant of how much my cat ate and let me know in photos or notes to make sure everything was going okay. Anna was very responsive from the initial booking to answering any questions I sent her during my vacation. Anna is very responsive, kind, caring and professional. I highly recommend Anna!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jolietville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
