“Leslie was the best. We found her last minute after our dog sitter cancelled. She treated our dog like one of their own. So flexible, sent me great pics throughout the week. My dog was so well cared for and so loved. Highly recommend!”

“Sean and his family provided a perfect home away from home for our two poodles. He was very responsive and gave updates and pictures. I recommend booking with him and will be returning for future sitting needs!”

“John and Gretchen took such good care of our Griffey while we were away for 10 days. They sent lots of pictures and updates - he was so loved and well taken care of. He didn’t want to leave their house! We will definitely be using them again in the future.”

“Vanessa was excellent! I could tell that she really enjoyed caring for my dog, including walking, playing (frisbee and toys), and cuddling with my affectionate dog. Communication was great, and I would highly recommend Vanessa. I hope to have her dogsit again in the future!”

“Marine and her husband were great with my pup, Kaylee. This was her first time staying with them and it was for an extended time. I was sent photos and given updates throughout her visit. In every photo sent, she seemed comfortable. I will definitely book stays with Marine in the future.”
“Jennifer is terrific! Our meet and greet went great and our Willa immediately bonded with Jennifer and her dogs. It was obvious visiting with her that she loves dogs and Willa would be well cared for by Jennifer. During Willa’s stay, Jennifer sent us a couple of videos and a photo of Willa enjoying her visit and told us about Willa’s 2 hour visit to the dog park. Will definitely contact Jennifer the next time we need a caring and safe place when we take a trip where Willa can’t go with us.”

“Denise and Michael are wonderful grandparents to our little dog. She gets long walks daily and even gets to visit their cabin depending on the time of year. We couldn't ask for better dogsitters!”

“We would highly recommend Eileen as a dog watcher/over night visits at her home. This isn’t our first or last time having her watch my little girl while I need led to go out of town. Eileen is thoughtful in pictures and videos and explaining something that happened each day. It is our pleasure to work and know Eileen.”

“Krista is amazing, and she clearly loves animals. She has watched two very senior dogs of mine and now a young and rambunctious dog, and they all received excellent care and were very happy while at her house.”

“I have never left my dog with someone new before and was determined to find the right fit. I noticed Nicole and David C. (and family) had 5 stars, great reviews, and dozens of returning dogs, which suggested they are amazing - and I can now confirm this is the case. They made my girl feel right at home with snuggles, scratches, and allowing her space to nap quietly too. They have a great understanding of dog behavior and needs, and I could tell genuinely enjoyed my dog being there. They sent pictures and videos of my girl enjoying her stay, playing with pups, snuggled on the couch, having her ears scratches, and rolling in the sunny grass. I will definitely be asking them to watch her again in the future and am so grateful for their amazing care of my pup!”

“lonni & steven took great care of my senior dog! he seemed very at ease with them and they sent me pictures and updates which put me at ease too :) would gladly book with them again.”

“Elizabeth and her family are awesome! They always take care of Bullet and treats him like their own. Bullet always come home happy and excited! Highly recommended and would love to return in the future!”

“Roland had such a good time! She treated my baby like her own and made him feel safe! Picture updates and check ins and fast communication! Thank you so much we highly recommend Betsy!”

“Steven and Diane were great. They have excellent communication, sent us photos, and sent home Lutsen all tuckered out. Thanks so much guys! Can’t wait to bring Lutsen your way again soon.”

“Kami took amazing care of our dog! She provided regular updates and lots of good photos. She was great with additional medication needs and a fast communicator. We loved our experience!”

“Liss, you are the best! I always feel so at ease, knowing that Eli is being taken care of. She comes home so happy and worn out from all of her fun at your house. Thank you for everything.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lakeville
Kim was absolutely amazing with our energetic yellow lab, Daisy. Daisy wasn’t used to being taken care of at someone else’s home, and was stressed out. Daisy had diarrhea and was shedding. Kim, bless her heart, went out and got turkey and rice to help Daisy. With Kim’s care and love, Daisy bounced back to her old self. Kim sent us photos of Daisy during her stay and gave us updates. By the end of the week, when I came to pick Daisy up, she actually looked sad to go! Kim did a fabulous job taking care of Daisy! I would highly recommend her! Thanks Kim!!!

We had such a great experience with Samantha watching Stanley while we were away! It was clear from the start how much she genuinely cared for him and treated him like he was her own. That kind of peace of mind means everything when you’re leaving your dog in someone else’s care. We’re so happy we chose Samantha and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone who will love your pet just as much as you do!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
