“Sebastian had a great time with Shelby and all the other Rover dogs that stayed with her and her family! With plenty of picture updates, it looks like he spent the majority of the beautiful week outside playing. He definitely can’t wait to go back and hang with his buds! Truly a vacation for him.”

“Awesome family! Elizabeth and her family were so accommodating and made sure our babies were comfortable and well taken cared of. Easy communication, updated us regularly especially with pictures and prompt responses. Our babies enjoyed their stay so much in Elizabeth’s home. Highly recommended!”

“Dee is the absolute best Dog sitter! Our dog Luna is a high energy dog who is also very vocal and Dee does a great job caring for her. We know we don’t have to worry as she is being spoiled.”

“Whitney was SO GREAT! We had to leave our puppy for a week and we knew he was well taken care of. We got regular updates and we could tell he had a great time while we were away. Would definitely book again and recommend!”

“Marine was an excellent choice to watch my pup. She sent pix of my pup, and Sophie appeared relaxed and comfortable in her home, and very relaxed when I picked her up. I will surely consider using Marine again in the future.”

“Katie and her family were amazing. They made our senior dog feel part of their family. They gave medication and attended to all his needs. Not only was he cared for but he was made part of their family. We would always recommend Katie and her family to watch our dog. She sent updates all the time and pictures of our dog having a great time with the family. Truly an amazing experience.”
“So grateful to have found River to puppy-sit our 5 month old Sophie. I was nervous in leaving a puppy who's still learning in the hands of another person, but River made me feel safe and secure to have her take care of Sophie. She's sent us photo updates of our baby when she could since our pup has unlimited energy and doesn't stay still much. We're really happy in our experience with River and look forward in using her services in the future :)”

“Julie and Ben were great! We needed a sitter on short notice, and they were quick to accommodate! Our dogs looked like they had a great time. We will definitely consider them for future needs!”

“Sean and his family provided a perfect home away from home for our two poodles. He was very responsive and gave updates and pictures. I recommend booking with him and will be returning for future sitting needs!”

“Mary is absolutely the BEST! Our family is SO thankful that we found such a caring person to watch Teddy while we are away! She sends daily pictures, gets Teddy outside and on walks, and we know Teddy is having so much fun with her dog Izzy! We truly could not ask for a better dog sitter! We plan on booking with her again and again! Thank you Mary!!!🩷”

“Lan was an amazing dog sitter. This is my first time using Rover, and to be honest, my first time leaving my dog with anyone that wasn’t a friend or family so I was a bit nervous. Lan was friendly and helpful and sent pictures of Zoey about an hour after I left which help put my mind at ease. Over all a really good experience.”

“Perla took wonderful care of my cat for 3 days. She followed all of my feeding instructions carefully and kept me updated throughout his stay. She regularly sent me photos and videos, which gave me great peace of mind. One of the things that stood out the most was seeing videos of my cat sleeping next to her daughter. To me, that showed that he felt comfortable, safe, and secure in their home. It was clear that Perla treated him with kindness and care. I highly recommend Perla to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you for taking such good care of my kitty!”

“Julie & Chad took wonderful care of our Lancelot this weekend! He was so happy when we picked him up, and we could tell he really enjoyed his stay! They communicated and sent photos during the weekend, which we so appreciated!”

“Jie cared for my puppy very well. She was much happier than when I have boarded her with a large doggy daycare. She sent pictures and photos as daily updates. My dog loved the attention and the large yard. I would highly recommend Jie!”

“Alka and Rajeev took great care of our pets. They had great communication with us and took cute pictures assuring us that our pets were being taken care of. Highly recommend them!”

“We loved having Brenda watch our pup! She sent lots of updates and pictures during the stay. Her family and dogs were so sweet and playful with her, too. Would definitely recommend!”

“Leslie was the best. We found her last minute after our dog sitter cancelled. She treated our dog like one of their own. So flexible, sent me great pics throughout the week. My dog was so well cared for and so loved. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Farmington
Leanna and Steven did a SUPER, FANTASTIC, and AMAZING job with caring for our 11-week old puppy (mixed Australian Shepard and Labrador Retriever)! Both were thankfully available to dog sit him almost "last minute" (almost less than 2 week of booking) over the 4th of July holiday week, which allowed us to go on our week long vacation. She provided updates and took pictures everyday to show us how great of a time he was having with all the other pets and adapted very well to being around and in a new environment. They followed our care instructions to a "T" and cared for him like he was their own. When we went to pick him up, Leanna and Steven were even more super helpful to help carry our foldable/portable crate, pet bed, blanket, and bags to our car and it was a fun surprise to receive a little pet goodie bag as a little farewell gift! We are super appreciative and thankful for Leanna and Steven and would highly recommend them anytime for pet sitting and doggy day care!

Kathi has provided the ultimate care for our aging yellow labrador Hank. He arrived for his latest stay with an upset tummy probably caused by watching us pack our bags! Kathi checked in with us and then took the extra steps you would take at home, preparing rice and meat to ease his tummy back to normal. We are so grateful to have found her! We appreciate her communication skills, including daily updates and pictures which put our minds at ease. We highly recommend Kathi's services, you will be so pleased with her care!

Cindy and Brooke were awesome in caring for our Springer, Benny. Her place is well set up for taking great care of you pet. Her fenced yard is a bonus place for dogs to be able to safely go out. The kennel size was very good with good light for our dog and comfortable space and her place was both welcoming and clean. Both of them exhibited excellent knowledge of animals and handling them well. We would definitely use Cindy again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
