“Erin was so great with my cat! I got lots of updates and she played with him a lot. My cat is usually very shy and he warmed up to her right away. I will definitely want to rebook in the future with her. She also cleaned up a messy hairball and tidied up after my cat when he knocked over the trash can. I am really grateful to Erin for her help. ❤️”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life, so I am very used to their behavior and I absolutely love being around them! I’ve dealt with senior dogs as well as puppies, so nothing will surprise me😂 I am currently a student, and I have many open hours that I am free to take care of your pet! I am free most nights to house sit as well. I have two dogs of my own and a cat so I am very used to having pets around!! If need be, I have experience putting pets into crates and administering medicine.
“With our busy and changing schedule, Cora Leigh didn’t miss a beat. Always the professional, she took care of our cat and worked around family coming and going, grabbed packages on the porch and sent the best pictures of our furry friend. Thanks so much!”

“Sophia is a very caring and attentive pet sitter. She is a good communicator and sent me lots of adorable pictures of my fur babies while I was out of town. I knew my pets were in safe hands with her.”
“Bridget is the best! My boys warmed up to her immediately. She sent photos of them each day and made sure they had everything they needed. Her response time was prompt and she’s reachable! I trust my boys in her hands anytime and will absolutely be booking her again :)”

“I cannot say enough good things about Alex and how well he took care of our two cats while we were away for a week. He was so on top of everything, sent detailed updates and photos with every check-in and it was just so nice to be able to enjoy our vacation without worrying if our cats were in good hands. I would HIGHLY recommend him and will definitely be using him again in the future!”

“Christopher did a great job with Bella on short notice and I could not have been happier. From the amazing photos he sent of her to making sure she was taking care of and a happy dog really put my mind at ease while I was away.”

About: I worked in a doggy daycare for a few years and have been caring for pets still after that. Have had a senior dog of my own to care for. I am very flexible with time throughout the week. Have dogs to care for of my own so while wife is at work during the day will need to care for them a little bit. I will care for the clients pet in their home exactly how they would want their dog treated in their home, and will follow their instructions exactly.
About: I grew up with dogs and know firsthand how much they become part of the family. Our beloved dogs, Bonbon and Bambii, were like siblings to me, and I loved spending time with them on walks, hikes, and playtime adventures. Although I don't currently have pets of my own, I miss that special connection and would love the opportunity to care for and spend time with your furry companions. I also have experience looking after my sister's dog, Toast, and always enjoy giving pets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I will treat your pets with the same love and care I would give my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and being around animals. I love starting my mornings with a walk, hike, or run, and I'm available between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM for dogs who need exercise, fresh air, and attention before the day begins. In the evenings, I enjoy going on walks after work, usually from 7:00 PM onward. This gives me dedicated time to focus on your pet, whether that means a relaxing walk, playtime, or simply keeping them company. Having grown up with dogs and caring for my sister's dog, Toast, I understand that pets thrive on consistency, affection, and quality time. Caring for pets doesn't feel like a chore to me, it's something I genuinely look forward to and enjoy incorporating into my weekly routine.🐶🤍 When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize keeping them comfortable by maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special preferences. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while also respecting their individual personalities and needs. I believe communication is important, so I am happy to provide updates, photos, and messages to give pet parents peace of mind while they are away. My goal is to create a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets feel secure and cared for in their familiar surroundings.
About: I always prioritize your pet’s wellbeing and safety. I love to give dogs the chance to get outside, get some exercise, and have some fun! I have many years of experience around dogs and cats. I have experience with challenging, skittish, young, and old dogs. I can walk multiple dogs at once and have experience housesitting and walking. It's important to me that your animal feels safe and comfortable around me. I love being around animals so I will always go the extra mile to make sure your animal is safe and happy with me! I have availability everyday besides Wednesday and Thursday. I have flexible availability the other days of the week! I hope we can find a time to care for your pet! Your pet and your trust is my priority. I ensure yours and your pet’s comfort by attending to specific needs of your pup. I am very respectful of others homes and boundaries. Most importantly, I will always make sure your pup is safe while having fun!

About: I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a German Shepherd, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and three cats taught me how important patience, consistency, and care are for pets. I started pet sitting as a teenager for family friends, and through word of mouth I quickly became a trusted sitter for pets and homes of all kinds. One of my biggest pet-sitting jobs included caring for three dogs, 18 outdoor cats, and even feeding local crows and cranes! Having lived all over the country, I've continued to find joy in caring for animals wherever I go. I treat every pet like family and strive to keep them happy, comfortable, and loved while you're away. 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my routine as a young professional working a typical Monday–Friday schedule for a nonprofit organization. I'm available before and after work for walks, feedings, playtime, and plenty of attention. I also understand how important consistency is for pets, so I'm happy to use my lunch break to stop by for mid-day potty breaks, walks, or check-ins. My goal is to keep your pet comfortable, cared for, as close to their normal routine while you're away. 🐾 I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to their normal routine. In my clients' homes, I follow all feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and household rules to ensure pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. Whether it's walks, playtime, potty breaks, cuddles, or simply keeping a pet company, I make sure each animal receives the attention and care they need. I also treat every home with the same respect I would my own, keeping things clean, secure, and well cared for.
“Madison was amazing! When she first met Benji Muffin she bonded right away. She was caring, compassionate and careful with my older beloved dog. She was respectful in my home and I trust her completely. I enjoyed receiving her pictures and it put me at ease during my vacation. I could tell right away that she really enjoyed what she was doing. I think Benji Muffin misses her.”

“Julianna took good care of our kitty and helped in other ways while we were away, bringing up garbage bin and bringing mail inside. She was friendly and flexible. Will definitely ask her back!”

“Michelle drops in on my 2-year old golden retrievers twice/week! She is responsive, keeps me informed, sends pics of the boys playing and they absolutely adore her! She is also easy going, friendly, reliable and dependable! I am so grateful we connected with such as responsible, sweet, and caring sitter! Highly recommend her services.”

“Our wirehaired doxies immediately warmed to Jessica which made us feel really comfortable leaving them for the first time in years and years. It’s clear she loves dogs and understands separation anxiety issues. They got extra love and attention, and when we got home they slept for hours! Thank you, Jessica!”

I'm able to stay with and care for animals (both short and extended term), and am also available for drop-ins, walks, and hikes. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakeville. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
