“Great sitter. We were a bit nervous at first cuz our dog has some bad tendencies but she was great at controlling his leash aggression and kept us updated the whole time. Really great experience overall!”

“Shayla and Jake watched Juno for a few days during our wedding week. They were communicative, always on time for pick up/drop off, and we could instantly tell Juno was comfortable with them! Thank you so much for watching Juno for us!!!”

“Emily and family took amazing care of our dog Chloe when we were out of town. From our meet and greet, Emily asked a lot of very good questions like what habits we allowed and did not allow, what kinds of updates we needed, whether we allowed her to wear her harness when not on a leash, etc. Emily seemed to have a strong background in training young dogs. Their dog Chaka seemed to play with Chloe all day and tired her out. Chloe went home very tired and very happy. While we were stressed about packing and forgot our mini white noise machine, Emily offered to lend us hers. We received frequent photo updates, and Chloe was always very happy in the photos. We would definitely recommend Emily and family took take care of your dogs.”

“Anali was soo good with Chaco! She made sure to give him exercise to tire him out considering his high energy level and took him to cool hiking spots! Chaco absolutely had a great vacation while we had ours! Haha Her location was also perfect for us coming from the city on our way to Tahoe! Anali is great at communication as well! We’ll be back again for sure if she’s free :)”

“Elizabeth did an amazing job boarding Tali for 2 weeks. She always responded to my texts very promptly and was flexible with my changing plans which really made a difference. Everything about her was trustworthy. And most importantly she clearly loved Tali and took great care of her which made my trip worry free. Tali was calm and happy and fully herself when I picked her up and in the days after. I would board her again with Elizabeth without any hesitation!!!”

“Mac’s stay with Mochi was 10/10! Xi was very responsive, provided wonderful updates, and checked in on dietary concerns before giving any treats. We will absolutely rebook next time we are in the area!”

About: I’ve taken care of my puppy and have experienced training him since he was 8 weeks old and now he’s over 2 years old and very energetic and playful. I’ve also taken care of my cat and experienced administering medications through injection and orally when he got really sick. He’s now 5 years old and thriving. I work from home 3 times a week so I have flexibility and on the days I’m in office, I can still make time early morning or evening. We live in a single family home and have dog gates to separate cats and dogs as needed to give them safe spaces. We also have a fenced backyard so doggies can run and play catch.
“We had an absolutely wonderful experience boarding Ollie with Lauren and Benjamin! They were warm, attentive, and clearly love dogs. We received great updates with pictures throughout the stay. We would happily board with them again and highly recommend them!”

“This was my first time using the Rover app and successfully finding a sitter! I chose Heather as she already had great reviews and repeat clients. My pup baby had an amazing stay with Heather and her husband! He got a lot of love a lot of play time and Heather introduced him to walking as he is still very young and hasn’t tried walking him yet! He now can go up and down our stairs after a stay with Heather….which I truly appreciate him having this new level of independence! I highly recommend Heather”

“Bianca is fantastic! We have a senior dog and Bianca goes above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. After our dog’s first stay with her, we immediately booked our next one with her because of how great she is. Our dog is clearly so much happier staying with Bianca than when we used to take her to the kennel. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs in a wide range of situations, including senior dogs, special-needs pups, and dogs recovering from injuries. Most dogs love nature, and it's exciting to see them perk up on walks at the sound of chirping birds, rustling brush, or a skittering lizard. There are great dog-friendly nature paths in Novato and San Rafael that give the pups both sniffing and social opportunities, so they come home tired and content. What I’m especially good at is communication. I pay close attention to a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, and energy, because they tell you so much before they ever make a sound. I use a gentle “dog voice” (yes, the sweet baby-talk voice) and clear, steady cues, because many dogs respond quickly to warmth, tone, and consistency. Even anxious or shy dogs usually soften when they realize they’re being understood. I’ve also cared for large dogs, and my Labrador retriever loves having big buddies to play with. No matter the size, age, or temperament, I’m respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and I make sure they feel safe, seen, and truly cared for with plenty of affection, attention, patience, and exercise. I currently work from home, and I have a (mostly) flexible schedule. I like to get out with my dog two times a day for 2+ mile walks on local trails and parks. I respect people's spaces, and I am good at following detailed instructions for homes and their pets. I have references and happy clients to tell you about it!
“Lexi and her family treated our dog as their own, and they truly understand what it means to care for a dog. There was never a worry that Moose wouldn’t get adequate stimulation with the many walks and backyard time spent with this family. The most noticeable difference between Lexi and other sitters was Moose’s energy when we picked him up. He wasn’t full of anxious energy and he seemed like our normal pup. This gives us the peace of mind and then some for any future stays he has with this household.”

“Ciana was a great mama to my puppy Tala! She made sure to learn about tala and sent me daily(sometimes more than once) updates/photos/videos. Will definitely use her services again! Thank you Ciana for taking good care of our puppy!”

About: Although I have never owned a dog myself, I have several years of experience caring for family dogs. My sister has had a dog since 2016, and my mom got a dog in 2023. I regularly help care for them when my family is out of town, including feeding them on schedule, providing fresh food and water, taking them on walks, and making sure they are safe and comfortable. While I do not have extensive pet-sitting experience, I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and caring for them with patience, love, and responsibility. I would be grateful for the opportunity to care for your furry friend and appreciate the trust you place in me. I am a full-time student during the weekdays and a mom to a 6 six year old girl who also loves dogs. I am available in the evenings to take your dog on a walk. I am also available anytime on the weekend to board your pup or to take them for walks. I make sure dogs are safe and comfortable while in my home and I let them lead their walks. I keep them on a secure leash at all times, pay attention to their surroundings, allow them time to sniff and explore, and make sure they release enough energy without getting them overtired.

Your dogs are gonna LOVE staying with Jacob & Shayla! They’ll have new friends to play with and come home all tuckered out! My 5 year old lab absolutely loves Jacob, it makes my heart happy knowing they are loved too. The boarding space that Jacob & Shayla have created on their farm is delightful and well thought out. I highly recommend them if you’re in the Sonoma/Petaluma area and need a loving space for your dogs. Side note- if you’re on Sniff Spot, they have an AWESOME space for your dogs to get some exercise while you’re traveling!

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
93% of sitters in Lakeville can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lakeville home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lakeville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Lakeville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
