“This was our first time using the Rover app, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Makayla was absolutely wonderful—super sweet and thorough when she came to meet our cat and go over all of the instructions. While we were away, she checked in every day with thoughtful notes and the cutest photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. She even brought in some packages that were delivered, which was such a nice extra touch. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and we’ll definitely be booking her again. We’re already planning to have her help with dog walking, too. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for a variety of pets and have plenty of hands-on experience with dogs. My family has two dogs, so I’m very comfortable with feeding, walking, playing, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and care. I’m active, responsible, and will treat your pet like they’re my own! I am currently working part-time at home, so I have plenty of time to take care of your pup throughout the mornings or evenings as needed. I live in a house with a fenced in yard and also have a golden doodle dog to keep company. He is playful and energetic.

“Amber was a wonderful sitter! Amber had excellent communication, shared updates with photos & took excellent care of our 3 pets. We would highly recommend Amber as a future sitter!”

“This was our first time using Rover since we usually had friends take care of our cats, so we were a little nervous. Kelly made the entire experience so easy and stress free. She scheduled a visit before we left for our vacation, explained how Rover works, and took the time to go over all of our instructions. Throughout our trip, she followed every instruction carefully and sent us daily updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. She even went above and beyond by bringing our packages in from the front door and placing them safely in our garage. Kelly is incredibly professional, thoughtful, and reliable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life, so caring for them is second nature to me! From bouncy puppies who need patience and consistency to sweet senior pups who enjoy a slower pace, I love them all. I’m happy to help with basic training, stick to routines, and make sure every pet gets plenty of love, attention, and tail wags while you’re away I’m in school, but I make plenty of time for pets! I can fit walks, playtime, and care into my daily and weekly schedule, so every pet gets attention, love, and fun while I balance school. I keep pets safe, happy, and comfy wherever they are! In your home, I follow your instructions and make sure they have food, water, and lots of love. In my home, I create a cozy, pet-friendly space with plenty of supervision, cuddles, and fun so every pet feels safe and cared for
“Jamie is absolutely amazing. She really cares and you can tell. Conan (Vizsla - 5yrs old) fell in love with her the minute they met! And he was such a happy and tired boy when I returned home. Thank you Jamie for taking such good care of my baby!”

About: Caring for pets has been a part of my life for a long time, through both pets of our own and foster pets! We’ve been fostering for the past decade and have cared for over 30 dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs with all kinds of personalities, including shy, anxious, and reactive. My favorite thing about animals is they all have their own personalities, and I love learning about who they are! My approach is to meet pets where they’re at and let them set the pace for our interactions, especially those who need a little extra time to feel comfortable with someone new. Senior dogs have an especially big place in my heart, as we have two of our own, and I’m very comfortable with the extra patience and care older pups sometimes need. I’ve also fostered and spent time with dogs of many breeds, sizes, and personalities, including bully breeds which are always welcome! I work a hybrid schedule with quite a bit of flexibility. I generally don’t work Sundays or Mondays, work from home most Wednesdays and Fridays, and am typically flexible throughout those days. I’m usually in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays, but am generally only away for 4–6 hours at a time and can often adjust my schedule with advance notice. Some of my work is event-based, so I occasionally need to be away for ~2 hours on an evening or Saturday morning. When I have an evening commitment, I make a point to spend more time at your home and with your pet during the day. For stays longer than 2 or 3 nights, I’ll occasionally stop by my own home to see my spouse and our own pets, for no more than a couple of hours at a time every other day or so. About 6 hours would be the longest I’d generally plan for your pet to be on their own, though this is the max and it would typically be less. During the meet and greet, we can talk through your pet’s specific needs and possible scheduling accommodations. I’m currently available for house sitting in your home, as well as walks and drop-in visits. We have a full house of our own (including fosters!), so I’m not offering boarding or daycare in my home at this time. I will treat your home as a guest in it; I’m tidy and will clean up after me and your pets! What is helpful for me to know is what your pet’s typical day looks like, if they have any favorite or important parts to their routine, and ways they like to get stimulation (walk, play, puzzles). Where do they sleep? As much information as you can tell me about your pet is better so I can keep things as normal for them as possible!

“Ashley was great with our 8 year old golden doodle. Responded quickly to our last minute booking request, came right over for a meet and greet and followed through by being fantastic with our dog for several drop in visits over a weekend. She came right on time and sent us plenty of pictures and video so we knew all was well. It was great knowing our fur baby was in good hands and that peace of mind allowed us to relax and enjoy our evenings without worry. We will definitely be booking Ashley again soon!”

“Gavin took great care of our dog, Luna, and my brother’s dog, Ike, over the holiday weekend. He was reliable, communicative, and kept us updated with photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for pups and would gladly book with Gavin again. Highly recommend! 🐾”

About: I grew up with animals, mainly dogs my whole life. Now as an adult, owning and helping out family and friends with theirs, whether on vacation or just for puppy play date, is always a joy. I enjoy the active life and running with my dogs, so helping others with keeping their animals active is always a plus! I work from home and make my own hours so I have plenty of time to make plans if I have a request in advance. I have a fenced in yard and very friendly husky and australian cattle dog to keep your dog happy and active. We can create a separate space if needed.
“Bethany did amazing with my two cats & was super flexible on dates/times when I had some last-minute changes! Loved the photos and will definitely have her on the list as a repeat sitter!”
About: I have lived with cats since I was 14 years old and have looked after cats and dogs independently since I was 16. I am comfortable with administering medications from my time working at Grand Avenue Veterinary Clinic. I typically work a week day that leaves me away from the house from the hours of 7am to 7pm. Please consider this when determining if I would be a good option for caring for your furry family! As I will be in your and your pets home, making sure everyone is comfortable with me in the space! My goal is to make your pet as comfortable as possible while you are away. If you have any specific concerns about going on walks or interacting with other humans and pets please let me know so I can abide by what works best for your family. I have been trained on how to pill animals who are nervous about medication to ensure that your pet recieves their medication and remains safe and supported in the process. If you should ask me to take care of your home I make sure to grab the mail daily and follow the motto of leave it better than you found it! I want to have you to come home to a clean house.
“Carolyn is great with our cat Tess. She is also patient with all my directions for feeding my fur girl - I am grateful for that. I recommend her very highly.”

About: Hi, I’m Johanna! Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I grew up with dogs of all sizes and personalities, including those with special diets, medical needs, and activity restrictions. Because of that, I’m confident in providing both loving companionship and attentive care tailored to each dog’s unique needs. I share my home with my dog, Hank, who absolutely loves being around other dogs. He’s gentle, friendly, and always happy to have a playmate. Whether your pup is high-energy and looking for fun or prefers a calmer, slower pace, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. My goal is to give every dog the same love and attention I would want for Hank. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or snuggles, I’ll make sure your dog feels right at home while you’re away. I currently work a hybrid work schedule so if you’d prefer me to be home while watching your dogs that can be accommodated. For the days that I do have to go into the office it is within 30 minutes and typically is only for 3-6 hours per day. Though I do not have a fenced in yard I believe in taking my dog Hank on multiple walks throughout the day to supplement this! We do have a grassy area across from our driveway that I love to throw his ball for him at so if your dog is good off leash there are ways to get exercise around. There is a dog park within 15 minutes of my home and I love taking my dog there and your dog can tag along if you’d like!
“Madeline was great! I had a last minute need for a drop in visit and Madeline was very quick at responding and accommodating. My cat does not like other people but he came out of hiding when Madeline visited which speaks volumes!”

About: The two loves of my life were my dog, Abby, and my dog Bronx. Abby was a Siberian husky and Bronx a 15” lemon beagle. Bronx was part of my life for 20 years and just recently passed. I honestly can’t imagine a life without animals in it, and one day I wanna be able to reflect back on my life, knowing that I did as much as I could to help as many animals as possible, which is why becoming a part of ROVER is so appealing. I have an incredibly flexible work schedule that will enable me to schedule my work hours around my hours caring for animals. I truly believe that animals are every bit as important as we are, and I think pet owners will be able to rest easy, leaving their pets in my care, knowing that their health and safety will be of the utmost importance to me! I have a two-story condo that they would be able to spend most of their time in with me. I also have a heated garage that I’ve converted into a safe and comfortable area for animals to play in. In addition to that, I live in Woodbury, literally surrounded by parks, full of walking paths that will be ideal for a dogs exercise. One thing I would like pet owners to know is that I’m not doing this for the money, I’m doing this because I’m newly single and alone and can’t think of anybody better to spend my time with than animals in need. I wouldn’t just be some dog watcher, I would be their friend that plays with them and loves being with them.
“Joel provided an amazing drop-in service for us twice daily for 6 days for our 4 senior Dachshunds. He communicated with us each time he stopped by and sent pictures of the pups eating, getting some outdoor play time and settling down for naps until his next visit. They truly bonded with him because he gave them the kind of attention they crave—food, belly rubs and back scratches. One of the pups is blind and he helped her up and down the steps to walk in the grass. We could enjoy our trip knowing our pups were getting great care and attention while their needs were being met. Very satisfied with the job Joel did for us!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
