Phillip was available and willing to take my dog for a couple of days when the plans I had fell through at the last minute, which was such a nice surprise and relief! My little dog is a bit anxious and does not like the cold at all, but he was able to keep him safe, warm and comfy while I was away. Thank you again Phillip!

I was happy to have found Kelley. She had two adorable poms for Puffy to play with, and I would be happy for Puffy to go over for another play date.

This was the first time we used Rover. We left Gunner for a daycare day to start. Carolyn and Kristopher were great with Gunner. Carolyn wrote down all the details of Gunner’s normal routine and his particular needs. He came home very tired which was a win. We will be using them again in February for a longer stay. So thankful we found such wonderful people to leave him with.

Mike is great! Easy to communicate with, a true passion for dogs, and a great set up for dogs to play all day long. Our dog was happy to arrive and slept great after a day with friends. We look forward to using Mike again soon for an extended stay and for future play days in the future!

Our Aussie/Border collie had a delightful time at doggy daycare every day for a week. Jessica and her husband were very communicative, prompt and sent photos. They were patient working through our dog's anxiety on the second day (when he realized this was not just a one-off play date), and he ended up happy and comfortable the rest of the week, playing all day with their resident dog and another friend. We'd recommend them as excellent dogsitters and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Kevin had the time of his life! We’ve tried commercial daycare facilities and he gets super overwhelmed, but he instantly felt at ease here. He was a pooped pup when he got home and clearly had a blast - he even made some new friends! We loved getting all the updates from Emily during the day too - it was so fun to see what he was up to and reassuring for us that it was a great fit, especially since it was his first time. We will definitely be back!

We had such a great experience with Giovana! She was very responsive and kept us updated throughout the day with photos and messages. It was clear that Kit was well cared for and loved — Giovana truly treated her like part of her own family. We’re so grateful for her kindness and attention, and we’ll definitely be using her services again!

About: I've taken care of dogs from puppies to seniors. I can help with basic training and manners, as well as lots of "walkies" and couch time! Whatever your fur baby prefers, they will be loved by my family and I. I currently work from home, so I am available to your babies 'round the clock. If they need to be let out at specific times or take timely medications, I am available for that as well! I have a fenced yard with a very friendly male, beagle mix to keep your dogs company. I can also crate or separate easily if necessary! I can come to take them for a walk or let them out, no matter the Minnesota weather! I can provide pictures/videos, and updates as often as you'd like. They will be loved by family and I, and treated like one of our pack!

Cate and Tim are awesome! They agreed to a quick meet and greet the day before watching Riley so when I dropped her off for the day she was right at home at their place. Riley made herself right at home and had lots of fun with the end result being a happy worn out pup. I got updatesnduring the day and great pictures of Riley that I could see that she was having a good time. I would definitely habe Cate and Tim watch Riley whenever I'm back in the area and need a sitter!

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats in many different ways. I have owned dogs my entire life, plus a few cats. I volunteer at the Humane Society in Kansas City while at school where I work directly with the shelter dogs. I have house sat for multiple family friends and am ready to take on new pups and cats! I am currently home from school for the summer so am looking to fill the time. I work part time as a server a few times a week. During the day I often just workout, read a book, or hang with my own dogs. I have fostered a dog before and can adjust well to your dogs needs. I’ve practiced crate training, furniture restrictions, and other small training tasks. My house has an open yard which my dogs are free to run around in when they are not on leash to go potty.

About: Hi! My name is Allie and I've spent most of my life loving and caring for pets in multiple different environments over the years. I grew up with a bushel of miniature schnauzers, a few rodents and a snake. In college I took in a feral barn kitten and made her the talk of the university! After college, I spent 5-6 years working in a dog daycare facility which gave me experience with all different breeds and an immense amount of knowledge on behavior. After doggy daycare I moved on to working in a veterinary hospital which was an incredible resource and opportunity for me to increase me knowledge on medications as well as other medical knowledge. I would love to have the opportunity to spoil your pet as well as give you a safe space to leave your furry friend! Over the summer I am out of work and home with my pups and kids. In late August I will be headed back to work at a school nearby but working relatively short hours. We love to go on walks, to the dog park, the human park or just lounge in the back yard. I live in a 4 bedroom house with a large back yard. It is not fenced in but I do have a long line. I have a 12 year old pup who is a calm, unbothered queen and a year old pup who loves everyone and everything. In addition, I have 2 kiddos that are incredibly respectful of other pets space and will love your pets as much as their own however they can be crated if needed 😉

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lake Elmo commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,628 sitters in Lake Elmo, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
