“Tenja did great with my two pups. I trusted her in my home & that she was taking care of the pups. She was very communicative, and sent lots of pictures and updates. When I got home, everything was tidied up and taken care of. Definitely recommend Tenja as a reliable dog sitter :) Thank you Tenja!”

“William was absolutely incredible! He is so caring and took such great care of our animals and home! You can tell he takes watching pets and homes seriously and we can’t wait to have him back to stay with our dogs and cat, they adored him! Can’t recommend William enough!”
“Sthefany and Jeshael were so kind and caring! They followed all of my instructions and sent me photos and updates throughout the day! My dogs absolutely loved them and felt safe and cared for with them. When I got home, my dogs were so tired! Both my home and my dogs were well cared for. Thank you!!”

“Bryan was dog sitting in our home during the holiday season. We had to reschedule our flights and he was very flexible with moving the dates around. Dog sitting 3 dogs can be challenging for even the best dog sitters but he did a great job managing all 3 dogs and catering to each as they all have different needs. Our one pup has some issues with mobility and needs to take medication and he made sure that was taken care of. One thing that was very important for us and stood out about Bryan was that he dedicated 100% of his time to our dogs. We’ve had experiences where dog sitters would leave our dogs 12 hours alone at home without communicating that and we knew that with Bryan the dogs were always cared for, happy and attended to. Upon our return the home was clean, dogs were tired and happy and Bryan even waited for us to give us the rundown of his whole stay!”

“MITCH IS AMAZING!! Our dog Vito has a few special needs and Mitch was WONDERFUL with him. He sent photos and updated us a couple times a day which put us at ease leaving him. We definitely recommend him!!”
“Lilou was great with Lola, especially during the 4th of July for a night of scary fireworks. She was communicative and responsive all week. She sent pictures of Lola playing and Lola seemed to have a great time.”

“Caleb did an awesome job house-sitting for us. He took great care of our old puppy making sure he was comfortable and happy while we were away for a week. He also took good care of the house like taking the trash out without being asked, taking some misdelivered packages over to the neighbors, and keeping the house clean and in good shape. Next time we need a house-sitter we will definitely reach out to Caleb and hope that he is available.”

“Hayden was quick to respond, attentive to our dogs specific needs and respectful of our home and time away from the pups. He left our home as clean if not cleaner than it was when he arrived. Thanks Hayden!”

“Super Sally! The dogs were mellow and relaxed when we got home. Didn’t at all act like we’ve been out of town for a few days. That means they got a lot of love. The house is in perfect shape! We’re very grateful for Sally.”

“Marsha is a phenomenal person and dog sitter. We had never left our dog before, and were going on a week long trip. Marsha took such great care of him, gave him lots of love and exercise, and plenty of cuddling. We got plenty of updates, letting us know our pup was doing great. We were so thankful to have found Marsha and have her house/dog sit. Marsha went way beyond with extra care for our dog and taking care of the house. We can't recommend her highly enough, she's simply fantastic!”

“Sarah was a perfect fit for our pet and house-sitting needs. We recently moved to Colorado and travel frequently for work, so finding someone we could trust with our kitty, Shimmy, was incredibly important. We were away on a two-week international trip, and Sarah took wonderful care of both our home and our cat. She was communicative, responsive, and kept us updated throughout our travels. During our time away, she encountered a couple of unexpected issues and handled both professionally and calmly, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned home, the house was in perfect condition, and Shimmy was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy pet and house sitter.”

About: I’ve owned and cared for pets of all kinds, having dogsitting/housesitting experience since high school. I bring enthusiasm, energy, hospitality, and respect. I enter dogsitting jobs prioritizing your rules, your boundaries, with the understanding that I serve and support your family. I’m just out of school on the job search so I have plenty of time and energy to care for and play with your pets. I have lots of flexibility and openness in my schedule. I ensure to thoughtfully check on your pets, respecting your wishes and instructions to keep them on necessary routines while maintaining good habits. I am adaptable, detailed, and mindful.
“We have used Kat multiple times now. She always does a fabulous job and our animals adore her. We know they are incredibly well taken care of and very happy with her and she always leaves our home in fabulous shape. I highly recommend her to anyone who cares deeply about making sure their animals and home are well taken care of in their absence.”

“Rachel was professional, timely, and took great care of our dog. We received many pictures throughout her stay and it was nice being able to know our dog was in good hands. Rachel will be our first contact next time we need a dog sitter!”

About: Hi, I’m Stephanie—lifelong cat person, mom of four, and someone who has officially reached her capacity for chaos at home 😅 After raising a busy household (ages 19, 15, 9, and a toddler), I’m looking for something a little different in my free time—a peaceful home, some quiet, and a pet (or two) to care for. I’ve always been a cat person. I love their independence, their personalities, and the fact that they don’t need a full-time event coordinator to be happy. I truly get cats. Dogs? I’ll be honest—I haven’t had one of my own as an adult (had a family dog named Murphy who I adored) because life has been full raising four kids. BUT I’m absolutely open to caring for dogs, especially ones that are: * Well-behaved * Lower energy or have a steady routine * Comfortable with a calm, structured environment So if you’ve got a sweet, manageable pup (or two), I’m happy to help—I just may not be the best fit for super high-energy, constant-action situations. What you can expect from me: * Calm, reliable, and attentive care * A clean, respectful presence in your home * Lots of love and attention for your pets (with respect for their personality) * Consistent updates so you can fully relax while you’re away Bonus: I’m a therapist by trade, so I’m especially good with anxious, sensitive, or quirky pets. Big feelings don’t scare me—honestly, I’m used to it. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to plan my days around the needs of the pets I’m caring for. I’m able to check in consistently, maintain routines, and be present when needed. I also have a strong family support system, so in the rare event something unexpected comes up, I always have reliable backup to ensure your pet is still fully cared for without disruption. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I take time to understand each pet’s personality, preferences, and any specific instructions so I can provide care that feels familiar and low-stress for them. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and keep things clean, calm, and consistent. I’m mindful about doors, windows, feeding routines, and any safety needs to ensure your pet is always secure. I also provide updates so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and a reliable family support system, so your pet’s care is always consistent—even if something unexpected comes up.

About: I have over 20 years of experience caring for dogs, including several with special needs and disabilities, so I understand the importance of patience, attentiveness, and compassionate care. I’ve also spent many years dog and cat sitting for friends and family, caring for pets with all kinds of personalities, routines, and energy levels. I know our pets are family, and I would love the opportunity to provide a safe, loving, and reliable environment for your dog or cat while you’re away! I work full-time from home and am always there during the day. I can schedule weekend care but need a bit more notice as my social calendar can fill up. No pets at home. I can have yours over during the day. Night time is ok if it's not more than a couple of nights, and as long as your pet is quiet/well-behaved.

As always, Mercedes was perfect. We know our dog was well taken care of and I swear the house looks cleaner now than when we left it. Very grateful for Mercedes, her communication, sweet demeanor, and respectfulness. Highly, highly recommend Mercedes 💕

Tenja took excellent care of our three dogs, all with various health care needs, and she did an incredible job. She was able to meet all of our dogs’ needs, provide TLC, and photos of the pups! She also left the house in great shape upon our return, and was a great communicator by text while we were away. I absolutely will be using her again.
Grace was a wonderful sitter! She saved us after a last minute cancellation and was able to stay the weekend with our dog. She is responsive and obviously loves dogs. Our dog (who has some health issues and is a tripaw) was very happy and well taken care of when we got home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kittredge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kittredge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kittredge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
