About: I've had and cared for pets since I was a child, from guinea pigs to rabbits to cats. Currently a very doting cat mom to two (one young cat and one senior) I work from home, so I can be flexible and available whenever necessary. I know how it is to be away from your pets, so its my job and pleasure to make everyone as comfortable and relaxed as possible while you're not home. I genuinely love the company of animals so much, and would be honored to care for yours. I'm a self employed artist and work from home, so I am available and flexible as needed. I have two of kitties of my own that I treat like my children, so I understand the maintenance and needs of your loved ones! I'm available for drop in visits, or longer hang sessions, feeding, litter care and medications if needed. Overnights upon request with two weeks notice.

“Lorenzo saved us when we had a last minute emergency with our two big energetic goldens. We never even met him but he took great care of our pups and fed our cats in our home over a couple of days! He was professional, responsive, and totally trustworthy. Will definitely book him for any future pup needs. Thank you, Lorenzo!”

About: I have always grown up with dogs all around me. My mom is a dog lover so we always had 1-3 dogs in the house at all times! I have a full time job during the week, 9-5 Monday through Friday, so I am looking to help on the weekends! I am available for drop in visits at any time on Saturdays and Sundays. I treat all animals as though they are my own. If I am taking care of your animals I promise to take care of them as I would my own pets.
“Absolutely incredible sitter! Great communication, tons of pictures, and my cats obviously really liked her which is the biggest plus! I hate leaving my pets for extended periods of time but Marion put me immediately at ease after her first visit. Highly highly recommend for your pets!”

About: I raise my own dog and now have a very talkative cat. I have responsibly taken care of acquaintances’ and friends’ pets for years. Each pet has its own unique personality and I just want to help how I can. I am very flexible at the moment. I am doing full-time online school that doesn’t have a meeting time so I can easily rearrange my day as needed to help. I have more flexibility on weekdays than weekends but can do both. I am great at recognizing what a pet needs while also being firm with boundaries and rules for their safety. I know how to care for not only your pet and home, but will respect both.
“Teresa was exactly on time and prepared to play. She is friendly, conscientious, and obviously loves animals. My dogs had a great workout with her in the yard and I felt completely comfortable leaving them with her. I also really appreciate that she respects the boundaries of my anxious doggo and listened to the advice I gave about bonding with her. I now feel confident about hiring Teresa for dog sitting in my home.”

About: I'm an experienced house and pet sitter with 30+ completed sits along the East Coast through TrustedHousesitters and personal referrals. Testimonials here: ........ I've cared for dogs and cats of all ages and temperaments, including senior pets, animals with anxiety or trauma histories, and pets with special needs. I'm comfortable administering medications and following detailed care routines. What you can expect: I learn each animal's routine rather than applying one approach to every pet. I send daily photo updates. I'm naturally tidy and leave homes clean and calm, and I'm glad to look after plants or a garden while I'm there. A few practical notes, so we can both tell early whether it's a good fit: 1. Meet & greet before every first booking. I require a video call or an in-person visit so we can both assess fit. You get to meet me and ask whatever you need to; I get to meet your pet and see the space. Until we've had that conversation, please treat my response as interest rather than a confirmed booking, and keep your other options open. I won't accept a booking before a meet and greet for house sitting. 2. Weekday availability. I see clients on video Monday through Friday, 10a–4p. I'm in the home the whole time, so your pets get frequent short breaks and company throughout the day, but I'm not available for walks or errands during those hours. I am able to support potty breaks during the 12:00-1:00pm hour. 3. Workspace. I need a desk or table at standard height with a supportive chair — not a dining chair, stool, couch, or bed — in a room with a door that closes, plus wifi that reliably holds a video call. I bring my own laptop, monitor, and stand, so I only need the surface and the space. My sessions are confidential, so I can't be interrupted or overheard once I'm on. If you're unsure whether your setup works, a quick video walkthrough settles it in two minutes. 4. Pets I care for. Calm adult dogs and cats. I'm not currently accepting puppies under a year, and I'd want to talk first about dogs with a bite history, special medical needs, or significant reactivity. 5. Service area. Based in the Portsmouth/Eliot area; I generally take bookings within about 25 miles. 6. Notice. At least two days for new clients, and more when possible for longer stays. Tell me about your pet — their routines, quirks, and what makes them feel safest. I'd love to hear it! I work from home with structured hours, which allows me to be available for walks, feeding, medication schedules, playtime, and companionship at certain times of the day, roughly every 3-4 hours. My approach is calm and intentional. I honor your pet’s established rhythm and do my best to create a grounded environment that feels like home. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is to maintain a sense of safety, routine, and calm. I take time to learn your pet’s unique routines, preferences, and personality so I can offer care that feels familiar. In the home, I’m quiet, clean, and respectful of your space. I aim to leave things just as I found them—or better. I water plants, bring in mail, manage light tidying, and keep things running smoothly so you can return home with ease. I also provide thoughtful updates with photos and check-ins, so you feel connected while away.
“Sammi took great care of Echo and he loved her visits. Consistently on time and provided multiple photos and updates. Highly recommend her to watch your pet and look forward to working with her in the future.”

About: Hi! Heya! Hello! Are you looking for someone to care for your pet while your away? Well you've found them! Fun, energetic animal lover who can't wait to meet your pet! Drop-ins and Walking! Volunteer work with B.A.R.K, S.P.C.A, as well as experience working as a kennel assistant at Holiday Barn Pet Resort. Why I love dog sitting? I've always gravitated towards animals; I was that kid who brought home any animal that crossed my path, feeding strays, foresting. Growing up in a home where the pet to human ratio always favored pets, pet sitting is second nature to me. My experience administering medication I've done my fair share of administering medication to all sorts of animals. I am able to administer oral, injections, topical ointments, as well as suppositories. I currently work a dual remote position at NHPBS and have the flexibility to work from home which allows me ample time to provide the attention and care your pet requires. I’ll be an extension of your home and care. The goal is to provide a safe environment where your pet feels loved and has an enjoyable stay until your return.
About: Kristine and Eric have loved and had animals our entire life. I have always helped care for pets, even as a child. Eric was raised on a farm, caring for many different kinds of animals- waking up before dawn to ensure that all animals were properly cared for and had what they needed for the day whether it be rain, shine, snow, sleet, hot, or cold. We, together, have two dogs. They are both around 10 years old and are rescues. We also have 6 chickens. Our home has a door from the downstairs to the upstairs. When dogs are home during the day and if left alone for 1 hour or so they stay downstairs with access to water, comfy couches, and dog bed areas. When we are home they have free run of the home. We also have a crate for dogs that may need a private, safe space. We have a back yard that our dog enjoys playing in, but just so you know it is not fenced in, therefore dogs remain leashed when in the back yard. We do have a deck that is closed off in the backyard where dogs can be left unleashed to hang out, but always supervised when out there. We also have a 15 year old daughter who loves animals. She assists with the care of our dogs and we have fostered a few dogs in the past from various shelters and she is always eager to assist with making these dogs feel comfortable and give them love. She volunteers at a local animal shelter with small mammals and takes care of the chickens I work full time during the school year for a school district. Eric works from home. Eric takes dogs for a number of walks per day including walks to the local dog park (Rogers Park) and to local beaches for exercise and socialization. I am home by 3:30 pm and bring my dogs (and other dogs) for exercise either running, hiking, or walking. In the summer I am mostly around. I also grew up with cats and with both have experience with cats and providing meds to cats, including insulin shots. I work full time and Eric works part to full time but we can walk dogs in the evening and walk dogs throughout the day on the weekends. I have summers off as I work in a school. I will not be offering care in my home, but am excited to take care of your pet and walk your dog and take your dog on adventures.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
