“We recently left our 4 1/2 month old puppy, Harry, with Michelle. We were on vacation in Maine and were not able to bring him to our rental. Michelle sent us tons of photos and gave us updates on how Harry was doing. We would recommend her to anyone looking for in home dog care in the southern Maine area. Harry was happy upon our arrival to pick him up, we are very grateful that we found Michelle on Rover!”

“Daisy was happy and well taken care of. This house always has dogs and people who love animals. They are attentive and accommodating. I'd be happy to use them in the future.”

“Ashley was amazing and very communicative the whole 2 weeks. She sent plenty of photo updates and made sure our pup was well taken care of. Our flight even got delayed and Ashley so graciously let us extend. Our Sancho will definitely be back in the future!”

“I am so glad and grateful that Shana and Dylan watched my pup this week. I could not have asked for anyone better!! I adopted my dog less than two weeks ago and - still getting to know her - had a trip planned and needed to board her for 5 days. I was hoping for someone to treat my dog like their own and Shana and Dylan did just that. In fact, they went above and beyond what I could’ve hoped for - letting her snuggle with them at night, sending me frequent updates and pup pics, going out of their way to pick up beef and rice and cook it for my girl when her stool was soft, and packing the rest to go when I picked her up. Their dog Cleo is a sweetheart, and joined in on the doggy snuggles. I know if I ever need a sitter again I’ll be reaching out to Shana.”

“Veska is my new favorite go to person to care for our Gracie! She was awesome providing my family photos and daily updates. Very evident our Gracie became part of her family for her 2 week stay! Highly recommend!!”

“Benji had a great time staying with Nicholas and his family. I know this because Nicholas sent me lots of pictures and I was able to see that Benji was very chill, enjoying tummy rubs, getting along well with Nicholas' other 3 dogs and finding his place to relax right under their desk (just like he does at home). Benji has a sensitive stomach and often doesn't eat for the first couple of days. When his appetite did pick up, Nicholas was careful to make sure that Benji ate only his special food and that kept his GI track working properly! On the day of our return, our pickup time had to be delayed because of a flight change, but this was not a problem at all for Nicholas. We will definitely reach out to Nicholas the next time that we have need for a pet sitter.”

About: I'm an animal lover and have grown up with all types of animals. I have been trusted taking care of neighbors, friends, and families pets for many years. My sister is a veterinarian so I often get the pet questions. I will go above and beyond for your pet. I work from home Monday and Tuesday so I am free to go for walks and drop by your house most of the time these days. I am in the office Wednesday through Friday and will have less time but still available. Weekends are free unless I'm away. I live on an acre of land. It is not a fully fenced yard but it is set back in a small, quiet neighborhood on a dead end road. I have an indoor cat.
“Kelsey took care of our boy this weekend and she was absolutely amazing. She kept in touch with us, sent pictures and took great care of him. He even made a new friend! I highly recommend Kelsey and will absolutely book with her again!”

“Tombstone had a wonderful time boarding with Diamond! He was happily tired after his time there. Diamond was great with sending pictures and updates. Will definitely rebook!”

“Felicia was very accommodating and easy to work with which put all my anxiety of leaving my pets behind at ease. My dogs seemed very relaxed at her home and I believe they really enjoyed their stay with her.”

“Katelyn is excellentI Highly recommend. This was our first experience using Rover and it could not have gone better. She took excellent care of our two lab pups. Communication was great sending updates and pictures throughout their stay with Katelyn.”

“Donna was wonderful at communicating with me and I felt completely at ease leaving Phoebe with her and her husband. They were flexible, understanding, and caring towards my dog. I would not hesitate to leave Phoebe with them again.”

“Mack and Dennis had their very first Rover sleep-away with James, and they were welcomed with open arms by his whole family. Everyone was so sweet and hospitable, and his little girl gave them plenty of cuddles, which they absolutely loved. James was incredibly easy to work with. He was responsive, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. I felt completely at ease knowing my boys were in such a warm, caring home. I would absolutely recommend James to anyone looking for a trustworthy, family-oriented sitter. We will happily book with him again.”

“Mike was really kind and communicative, he made sure to check in with us throughout our trip. It was nice knowing that ruckus was being cared for as if he was one of theirs!”

“Our eleven year old lab mix typically has little interest in socializing with other dogs and tends to get anxious when we she stays with a pet sitter, but she loves staying with Jaclyn! On her second stay with Jaclyn, she ran straight to the front steps of the house and stood there wagging her tail while giving us a look that she was ready for her parents to leave so her dog vacation could begin. While we were gone, Jaclyn sent us videos of June playing with the other dogs with a level of enthusiasm we haven't seen in quite some time. We already have June's next stay booked with Jaclyn, and it is great knowing she will be excited to be there!”

“Lorenzo was great! Excellent communication. He sent pictures or videos every day that our pup stayed with him. He has great outdoor space and two dogs of his own for built in playmates.”

“Julianne was responsive, responsible and went above and beyond with my ornery cat to make sure she got her multiple medications. I am impressed and grateful for her dedication.”

“Madison was fantastic! She followed all of our instructions, and our kitten absolutely loved her. We also received wonderful photos that made us feel like we were right there with her. Highly recommend!”

“Absolutely incredible sitter! Great communication, tons of pictures, and my cats obviously really liked her which is the biggest plus! I hate leaving my pets for extended periods of time but Marion put me immediately at ease after her first visit. Highly highly recommend for your pets!”

“Leah is a fabulous sitter! Trust me when I say she goes above and beyond to care for your pets and communicate with you about how they’re doing! My husband and I went out of town to Charleston for a few days, and when our flight got rebooked and we were stuck a day longer, Leah was quick to offer additional care and helped me adjust her schedule through Rover! The kittens love her! I was so pleased to see that she brought out the best in our normally shy kitten, Moana! ✨🙂 I would recommend Leah to watch any of your pets, cat or pup, and I can say with confidence that she will go above and beyond while they’re in her care! 🙂✨”

“Teresa took care of my cat for just under a week, in my home. He is an orange tabby; need i say more? Moo bestowed his highest honor on Teresa, by sleeping ON her most nights; graciously, Teresa obliged him! Communication was good. I received daily updates and pictures and she did not hesitate to reach out when she had questions (the cat was temporarily on meds), My home was in great shape when i returned.”

About: Cats were my first pets. My grandmother had multiple cats, indoor and outdoor, which us grandchildren would love being with. I am happy to do whatever is needed for your cat. I have a very cute, white cat with blue eyes, a pink nose, and three legs.
About: Kristine and Eric have loved and had animals our entire life. I have always helped care for pets, even as a child. Eric was raised on a farm, caring for many different kinds of animals- waking up before dawn to ensure that all animals were properly cared for and had what they needed for the day whether it be rain, shine, snow, sleet, hot, or cold. We, together, have two dogs. They are both around 10 years old and are rescues. We also have 6 chickens. Our home has a door from the downstairs to the upstairs. When dogs are home during the day and if left alone for 1 hour or so they stay downstairs with access to water, comfy couches, and dog bed areas. When we are home they have free run of the home. We also have a crate for dogs that may need a private, safe space. We have a back yard that our dog enjoys playing in, but just so you know it is not fenced in, therefore dogs remain leashed when in the back yard. We do have a deck that is closed off in the backyard where dogs can be left unleashed to hang out, but always supervised when out there. We also have a 15 year old daughter who loves animals. She assists with the care of our dogs and we have fostered a few dogs in the past from various shelters and she is always eager to assist with making these dogs feel comfortable and give them love. She volunteers at a local animal shelter with small mammals and takes care of the chickens I work full time during the school year for a school district. Eric works from home. Eric takes dogs for a number of walks per day including walks to the local dog park (Rogers Park) and to local beaches for exercise and socialization. I am home by 3:30 pm and bring my dogs (and other dogs) for exercise either running, hiking, or walking. In the summer I am mostly around. I also grew up with cats and with both have experience with cats and providing meds to cats, including insulin shots. I work full time and Eric works part to full time but we can walk dogs in the evening and walk dogs throughout the day on the weekends. I have summers off as I work in a school. I will not be offering care in my home, but am excited to take care of your pet and walk your dog and take your dog on adventures.
“Sammi took excellent care of my two cats!- she was able to accommodate my request despite it being last-minute (which i try to avoid, but can happen!). She communicated very well & followed all my ridiculously detailed instructions! Definitely would recommend her to other pet owners 😊”

“Louis had the very best day - (he told me so). Within 2 seconds of being in the car, he passed out. The little doggy pool was right up his alley. Thanks so much for taking such great care of him.”

“Karen was kind and very easy going! Our dog is very nervous and he was calm and relaxed by the time we returned. Karen and her partner were very nice. She made our Christmas Eve dinner possible. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog was so tired and content by the end of their day with Enzo and Enzo's dog. Adorable picture of them playing/hanging out outside. Communication was super easy and prompt, we felt really comfortable with our pup being in their care, and would recommend them to watch anybody's fur baby!!”

“We were coming from out of town and our puppy gets a bit anxious while alone. Martha did a Fantastic job taking care of him and playing all day with him - he was exhausted both days and passed out as soon as he got home! Thanks again for the great time!”
“My pups loved going to Ashley’s! We had a last minute booking and I am very grateful to have found her. One of my pups is skittish and she took to her right away. You can tell Ashley loves dogs and they love her. Thank you again Ashley!”

“We had an excellent experience with our dog sitter, Veska. She took amazing care of Oaits and was gentle, attentive, and highly professional throughout. She made sure to understand what Oatis’ needs were by communicating with us and kept us up to date through out the stay. It was clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and we felt completely at ease knowing Oaits was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog sitter.”

“Sadie and Szymon did a phenomenal job with my Otter! They went on a long walk, and Otter got to play with their dogs in their beautiful yard! They treated Otter like one of their own, and I highly recommend them!”

“Words cannot express right now how thankful I am for Karen. Although he's been with me for quite some time, my dog Zeus is originally a shelter dog. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I found it necessary to schedule recurring daycare for him this summer. We never tried daycare before, and - as Zeus finds new environments difficult - I was definitely nervous trying this out. We have done two daytime stays so far, and Karen has been a pleasure to work with. She is very easy to communicate with, and I particularly appreciate her patience with Zeus - as well as with "mom". Karen's approach to working with new dogs - which she communicated right off the bat - was immediately reassuring to me. Having also observed Karen's interaction with dogs a couple of times now, as well as photos of Zeus from his stays with her, I feel confident that I'm leaving my dog in trained and caring hands.”

“Leah was amazing with my puppy! She watched him for the entire day on very short notice while I was working and even dropped him off at my house afterward. She sent lots of pictures throughout the day and was very communicative, responding quickly to messages. I felt completely comfortable knowing my puppy was in great hands. I’m so thankful she was able to accommodate us on such short notice and would absolutely trust her with my puppy again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!
About: I've always had a natural connection with dogs since childhood. Dogs have always gravitated to my calm energy and ability to sense their needs. Your dog will not just be taken care of but will feel safe like they're spending time with an old friend. Retired computer nerd and musician available for dog walking and house visits most days of the week. Some dogs are welcome in our home with fenced in yard and 5 y.o. yellow lab Norma for playtime and companionship. My wife and I live in a wooded area in York with a large fenced in back yard. We are both retired and home most of the day to keep an eye on the pups. I am available for long or short visits to your home for dog walks and exercise to suite your needs. I am an avid walker and walk daily. I am fully insured with pet sitting/walking insurance.
“Cecelia was absolutely wonderful - I could tell my pup had a great day from all the pictures she sent and how well he slept afterwards - he clearly got a lot of exercise!! Would book again!”

“Nicole was fantastic with Teddy! She gave us a tour of her home and we received multiple updates with photos throughout Teddy's stay. Teddy had a great time and really loved the fenced in backyard. Highly recommend and we'll definitely book again with Nicole!”

“Jeanne was great! I needed a last minute dog sitter while I was on a short vacation and she very responsive about watching my dog for a few hours. I could tell Taz had a good time as he was very tuckered out on the car ride home!! Thanks Jeanne!”

About: Without exception, the dog park is always one of the best parts of my day. I've had three dogs of my own, and have been around countless other dogs, most of whom instantly become my new best friends. We just gravitate to each other, hence the fuzzy friend whisperer nickname. I have a playful, loving attitude toward every dog I meet. I am also sensitive to dogs who need a little more patience and space to ease into trusting me and respect the boundaries that they need to do that. My training style with my own dogs is focused on positive reinforcement rather than punishment. This approach translates to other dogs as well, unless their owners request differently. Your dog will be in caring, responsible hands with me. They will be loved. Vogel Emergency Vet just opened right across the street from our house, so if anything kind of emergency pops up, your baby will be a hop, skip and a jump away from the care they need. I'm self employed and work mostly from home so my schedule is quite flexible. Sometimes I’ll have drop in visits throughout the day, but if your dog is boarding with me, there will generally be someone else at home with them. They’ll rarely, if ever be left alone. I live on a small farm but also live near a road, so your dog will always be safely on a leash when we go outside for potty breaks. I have a very friendly 12 year old 45lb labradoodle named Huck to keep your baby company in the rare cases that I'm not at home. I have a "squirrel observatory" (bird feeder) right near my workspace so your dog will not only be supervised most of the time but also entertained.
“I can not recommend Gary and his wife enough. They were absolutely wonderful and a breath of fresh air. My boy is my absolute world and we both have a little separation anxiety. Gary was very patient, understanding, and worked so well to make him feel safe and secure while in their care. They were very responsive and provided daily updates. Our boy was very happy and had a great time. I’m so happy to have found someone that I trust him with. We will 100% use Gary again.”

About: I raise my own dog and now have a very talkative cat. I have responsibly taken care of acquaintances’ and friends’ pets for years. Each pet has its own unique personality and I just want to help how I can. I am very flexible at the moment. I am doing full-time online school that doesn’t have a meeting time so I can easily rearrange my day as needed to help. I have more flexibility on weekdays than weekends but can do both. I am great at recognizing what a pet needs while also being firm with boundaries and rules for their safety. I know how to care for not only your pet and home, but will respect both.
“Tati is great! She is very communicative throughout the whole process and answers quickly. She makes sure my dog is happy and comfortable on their walks. My dog loves her!”

About: I love dogs and they seem to love me! I do not have my own dog currently but like to think of all those I watch as my own. I love to get them (and me) out for a walk especially on a beach or nearby trail. I also have a lot of experience caring for senior dogs and can match that energy level as well! If you need references I will be happy to provide them from Wallis, Teddie, Stella, Franklin, Buna, Wally, Tater, Judy, Kaya or Koda. I work from home so would not be away from your dog for more than an hour or two. If your dog likes the car, they can join me on errands/adventures. Or we can stay close to home for walks or snuggles. I care for dogs in their own home to keep them in familiar settings and routines. Important to know if they can be let outside in yard off leash or not, feeding times, what time is typical for wake up.
“Kristen was super responsive and flexible and did a great job caring for my puppy! She went above and beyond and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for reliable pet care in the Portsmouth area!”

About: I am confident with all types of animals. I have taken care of donkeys, pigs, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, horses, and chickens. I had a horse donkey and goat for five years. I also have worked at a horse barn for four years. I have dog sit before for friends and family. I have a dog named Charlie. He's a British cream golden retriever and he gets along with all pets. I enjoy dog walking, and dog sitting. I am a senior in high school so I can either have dogs at my house or I can go before school and right after school and dinner time to take care of the dog/dogs. I have a huge backyard and I love walking dogs. I don't mind either staying at someone's house and taking care of their dog or it coming to me.

About: Caring for animals with compassion and understanding has always come natural to me! I also have a reactive dog, Thor, and experience caring for reactive dogs at the NHSPCA. When I come to take care of, play with, or walk your dogs, I will dedicate my time to loving them. As an owner of two dogs myself, I know the nerves of being away and having someone else care for them. I am here to ease those nerves and accommodate any and all requests you have for your pet! I am currently in between future plans for college and work part-time picking up shifts at a restaurant, so I will have plenty of time for your dogs! I am home Monday-Sunday and am available for drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also very flexible and can accept last minute bookings. “Cody was wonderful with our elderly dog, Amelia. So kind and thoughtful, ready to research our particular issues. I highly recommend her, and I will be sure to remember her if I need help in the future. Thank you Cody!! Lisa A.”

“Sammi is absolutely incredible! Our pup just loves playing with her and she gives him all the love in the world. Sammie is super attentive and provides great updates and even gave us some very helpful tips with our new puppy. Highly recommend!”

About: I enjoy exercise-focused walks. I have two large dogs and I believe a tired dog, is a happy dog. Each walk is tailored to meet your dog's energy level and exercise needs. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or a brisk trail/beach walk, I ensure that your dog gets the physical activity (and love) required to maintain their health and happiness. I work remotely from home or cafes and have a flexible schedule throughout the week. I accept same day bookings and I'm happy to help in a pinch. Walking: One of my dogs is a rescue that I trained from having reactive behavior to an incredible family member. I believe in maintaining clear boundaries and reinforcing positive behavior during our walks. Drop-ins: I have the upmost respect for your space and will make sure your dog is mud-free at drop off. I will happily follow your house rules and specifications.

“We left our Cooper (very last minute!) with Jennifer these past 3 days, and felt as if we left him with Family! Jennifer was so attentive to Cooper and every few hours she sent us pictures of him. It was truly a most wonderful experience, and Jennifer was a loving, caring and thoughtful host! So much gratitude to her and her beautiful family!!”

“Caroline did a wonderful job caring for our Boone! She sent pictures and kept us up to date with activities they were doing. Would absolutely recommend and use her again to watch Boone.”
