About: Dogs were my first love. I've cared for dogs young and old, adopted and fostered dogs, raised puppies, provided training at all ages, and provided post-op and healthcare for unwell dogs. I started dog walking and pet sitting during the summers in college and am looking to continue caring for your precious pets as I start a new career as a teacher. About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats my entire life, with most of my pets coming from shelters and rescues. This experience has given me a strong appreciation for different temperaments, routines, and comfort levels. Currently, I live with my partner Caley (also on Rover!) and an 8 year old domestic shorthair cat named Barnett. We reside in walking distance of North Beach in Hampton. I primarily work from home, which gives me excellent flexibility for walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I am in the office a day or two, but am typically able to shift days in order accommodate walks. I take safety seriously and treat every pet as if they were my own. I follow all care instructions closely, use secure equipment, and tailor walks to each pet’s needs. When beach routes are used, dogs are kept leashed and closely supervised, with attention to weather, tides, and comfort. My goal is always a safe, positive experience for every pet.

“Laurie was wonderful! We booked her for a few days worth of drop-in visits with our 1 year old dog Luna (40-lb border collie mix). We've only had Luna for 4 months (rescue) and she is incredibly timid and loud around strangers in the house. We were worried going into the weekend that we might even have to cancel our trip because Luna has been unmanageable by just about everyone we've tried to get to walk her. And even with us, on walks she is easily distracted and will try to chase everything from squirrels to grasshoppers. It can be a challenge for non-family to even get close enough to get a leash on her. Laurie was so kind and patient with Luna, and spent so much time with her to gain her trust. She proved fully capable of leashing Luna and bringing her on long walks. We will definitely be booking Laurie again! (provided she would be willing!)”

My family had a golden retriever as I was growing up who was my best bud. In 2020, my partner and I gained the most precious family member... Layla! She is a rescue pup from Tennessee and we couldn't be more in love. Layla has some challenges with anxiety/reactivity due to trauma when she was a babe. I have considerable experience caring for dogs with similar histories. If you choose me to care for your pet, rest assured that he/she will be treated as part of the family. I have experience with heat-sensitive pets so I have experience gauging pets’ comfort level in relation to outside weather. I've always gravitated towards animals; I was that kid who brought home any animal that crossed my path, feeding strays, foresting. Growing up in a home where the pet to human ratio always favored pets, pet sitting is second nature to me. My experience administering medication I've done my fair share of administering medication to all sorts of animals. I am able to administer oral, injections, topical ointments, as well as suppositories. I currently work a dual remote position at NHPBS and have the flexibility to work from home which allows me ample time to provide the attention and care your pet requires. I’ll be an extension of your home and care. The goal is to provide a safe environment where your pet feels loved and has an enjoyable stay until your return.

About: Kristine and Eric have loved and had animals our entire life. I have always helped care for pets, even as a child. Eric was raised on a farm, caring for many different kinds of animals- waking up before dawn to ensure that all animals were properly cared for and had what they needed for the day whether it be rain, shine, snow, sleet, hot, or cold. We, together, have two dogs. They are both around 10 years old and are rescues. We also have 6 chickens. Our home has a door from the downstairs to the upstairs. When dogs are home during the day and if left alone for 1 hour or so they stay downstairs with access to water, comfy couches, and dog bed areas. When we are home they have free run of the home. We also have a crate for dogs that may need a private, safe space. We have a back yard that our dog enjoys playing in, but just so you know it is not fenced in, therefore dogs remain leashed when in the back yard. We do have a deck that is closed off in the backyard where dogs can be left unleashed to hang out, but always supervised when out there. We also have a 15 year old daughter who loves animals. She assists with the care of our dogs and we have fostered a few dogs in the past from various shelters and she is always eager to assist with making these dogs feel comfortable and give them love. She volunteers at a local animal shelter with small mammals and takes care of the chickens I work full time during the school year for a school district. Eric works from home. Eric takes dogs for a number of walks per day including walks to the local dog park (Rogers Park) and to local beaches for exercise and socialization. I am home by 3:30 pm and bring my dogs (and other dogs) for exercise either running, hiking, or walking. In the summer I am mostly around. I also grew up with cats and with both have experience with cats and providing meds to cats, including insulin shots. I work full time and Eric works part to full time but we can walk dogs in the evening and walk dogs throughout the day on the weekends. I have summers off as I work in a school. I will not be offering care in my home, but am excited to take care of your pet and walk your dog and take your dog on adventures.
