“Eleanor was attentive to both my cats. They were promptly fed, their water checked, litterbox cleaned, and they even got some playtime. Even my timid cat warmed up to her which is great. She was so nice and communicative, I'd definitely recommend her.”

About: Hi! I’ve had a dog in my life since I was 5, and over the last 17 years, I’ve cared for all kinds of pets for friends, family, and neighbors. I know firsthand how stressful it can feel to leave your fur babies in someone else's care! As a healthcare student, I bring strong attention to detail, reliability, and a huge focus on safety to every single visit. You can always count on quick responses, detailed recap notes, and photo updates so you have complete peace of mind while you're away! I have availability on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday for drop-in visits and walks, allowing me to easily fit caring for your pets into my weekly routine. I am reliable and punctual to ensure your pets stay right on track with their regular feeding, care, and exercise schedules! When I’m in your home or out on a walk, safety is my absolute priority. I’m very comfortable following specific instructions for leashing and home security. I’ll make sure your pet is safely secured before I leave and that your home is exactly how you left it.

“Susan was our first ever Rover sitter, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Our Ted cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes, so it's comforting to know he's in good hands when we are gone.”

“Alexis was super easy to communicate with, reliable and took great care of our kitty while we were gone! I appreciated getting pictures and updates, and would definitely book with Alexis again next time we need pet care!”

“Pets were well taken care of. He shared pictures (but I did not receive the written reports the sitters usually share after every visit). He helped as possible with cleaning poop/throw up my puppy left around the house. Quick to reply to my text messages.”

“Renee was great! Loved that she took the time beforehand to do a meet n greet. She even did an extra meet n greet because we booked so far in advance and it had been awhile. Attentive, kind, and her passion for animals is clear! Thank you 😊”

About: I am an animal lover, growing up with cats, and having owned 2 dogs for over 13 years! I enjoy all kinds of dogs and cats and would love to be able to help you out. I will care for your animals as if they were my own. Just tell me what the norm is for your fur babies and I'll make sure they are taken care of! I am available most times during the week and all day on weekends for walks. I also offer boarding at my home in a large neighborhood with a 2 mile walking path! My 13-year-old son loves helping me with the animals and would love to join me for walks/visits (but only if you are comfortable with it)! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible when I'm taking care of your pet! I am available mostly in the mornings and late afternoon/evenings during the week (but have some midday flexibility) and all day on weekends! My availability is pretty consistent and I keep my calendar as up to date as possible. I treat customer’s pets as if they were my own. Our pets are often like children except they offer unconditional love and trust to their families. My aim is to help your fur baby feel loved and cared for... just tell me what the norm is for your fur babies and I'll make sure they are taken care of.
About: I've taken care of animals since I was a kid, owned dogs as big as Saint Bernards, 4 cats, and currently a Pitbull. I've put my dog through beginner, intermediate, and advanced obedience training, so I can put that training to work with your animal as well. :) I work as a teacher during the day, so I can visit your pets anytime after 3pm and anytime, morning or night on the weekends. Since I have grown up around animals, I know how to respect their boundaries and let them 'accept' me before I give them pets. I know their body language well enough to know when they're happy, upset, or don't like a certain thing in their environment. I know that animals need stimulation, so I like taking them for walks and giving them proper attention and playtime :)
About: I worked at a dog kennel/police dog training facility over the summers as a teen so I'm familiar with many different dog breeds. I also grew up with 4 hunting dogs, so I understand high energy dogs and their need to go for walks (or runs!) I'm currently a teacher on summer break so I have plenty of time on weekdays to take your pup on a long walk or play with your cats! I am happy to care your furry friends any way that works best for them and their routine within a safe and familiar environment, giving you peace of mind while you're away.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Keeneyville
Mya was absolutely wonderful with my cat Genevieve and was very understanding that she can be slow to warm up to new people. She totally put me at ease and I could tell from the photo updates that Genevieve was very relaxed with her after only a few days. Mya was also a great communicator and respectful of the house space. I definitely will be asking if she can watch Genevieve again in the future!

Ashley is absolutely fantastic. Our senior cat is very shy and shows himself for no one, but Ashley makes sure to leave treats and little surprises around for him to find and we can tell it makes a huge difference to him. She seems to know exactly what he needs and her consistency and extra care gives him a sense of comfort and a bit of enrichment while we’re away.

♥️Ashley and Andrew are a very personable and responsible couple that we had the pleasure of hiring for our cat care needs. They took A+ care of our 13 and 3 year old cats. The cats are so happy. We could tell that they were well taken care of and spoiled with attention during our vacation. These two people are high on our list of the very best kind of people that we have met and would most definately rehire. We love the ease of choosing the perfect sitters thru Rover, kind, knowledgeable, people keeping us up to date with every visit with a report and pictures♥️ Very reassuring🤗. Thank you Ashley and Andrew.. we had a wonderful vaca!!

Nathalia took wonderful care of my cat, SunTie! She was very responsible, kind, and attentive, and followed his care instructions carefully. I really appreciated the updates and felt comfortable knowing SunTie was in good hands while I was away. I would definitely recommend Nathalia and would be happy to book with her again in the future!
Such a well dog sitter! Came to meet my dog and asked a lot of good questions on how to provide and care for my dog! She came did her thing just like how I told her and she went beyond! Gave me a lot of photos during the care and a lot of note taking on how my dog was! Definitely will book again and recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
