About: I’ve cared for dogs of every kind for 10 years. As a therapist with a flexible schedule, I bring a calm, patient energy to pet care and always give dogs plenty of attention and exercise. As a therapist, I set my own hours, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I’m reliably available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding throughout the week and on weekends. My home is a comfortable, pet-friendly environment — I have a dog and two cats of my own, so your pet will have friendly animal company and be cared for the same way I care for my own pets.

About: Growing up on a small farm in rural Texas, i’ve been surrounded by animals by entire life, yet our little furry friends that we allow to live in our homes always have been my specialty. I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 5, have taken many vet-med classes, and even have interned as a small animal veterinarian. I love an active, rowdy dog who is down to run laps and play all day, or even a relaxed gentle pup who just wants cuddles. I have intensive experience with senior dogs, I am able to administer any medicines/vaccines your puppy may need! I currently work at home so I am available to love your pup all around the clock!! I do online classes at CSU, so I am only away typically for errands and gym! I live solo in a pet-free, child-free apartment that is spacious and has an unfenced backyard, however there is a park nearby to take any runners out in!

About: I have owned pure-bred, rescues, fosters, disabled, and re-homed pets throughout my life (mostly large 40+lbs., but small as well.) I've provided training from puppy age into late-life comfort care. I also have a masters degree in behavior analysis and reinforcement training. I work from home as a part-time artist, so I'm around most the day as well as my dad. There is also a doggy door from outside into the garage (but not into the house). I trained Kizzy to push a button that says "outside" so I let her out as needed throughout the day and when one goes out, the rest tend to follow so plenty of potty breaks! I try to allocate ~5min to each pup for 1:1 lovings and belly rubs at some point in the day! Kizzy has a very flexible eating schedule and I am happy to accommodate feeding as needed for your pup. (Let me know about food aggression!) I tend to walk pups late in the evening when there's less distraction, less noise, and cooler, but we DO stop and smell the roses... and grass... and benches...and fire hydrants....etc. no rush here! Also, everyone gets a LED glow collar because safety first! Safety is a priority! Behavior Analysis is my field of expertise, which is primarily the use of reinforcement procedures to change behavior (mostly for individuals with autism!) This means I do NOT implement punishment procedures but rather "ignore" the undesired behavior, so rest assured no punishment for potty accidents or unbearably tempting trash bins :) LED glow collars for nighttime walking. Can feed separately or together depending on your pup's needs! Will supervise feeding, especially initially! Also happy to accommodate medication administration if needed. I have a very social 6 year old boxer mix named Kizzy who is active, tolerant, great with sharing and loves new friends! I have a 4ft fenced in yard, which backs up to a walking path with other dogs often walking by (so let me know about reactivity issues!) I prefer to have your babies here in my home as it allows me to work from home. I have multiple dog beds, a basket of toys, an extra large crate if needed, I keep water filled, yummy organic treats. I have lots of walking paths in me neighborhood, a nearby dog park, and kizzy loves swimming in the river so water-loving dogs are welcome! I have cared for higher-needs pets including geriatric, blind, deaf, and even one which was paralyzed and used a wheelchair! I am very comfortable with administering meds, the "cone of shame", assisting with mobility up/down stairs, etc. However, I am also available to stop by your home for potty breaks/medications/water refill/etc. and am available to pick the pups up myself depending on time of day! I am very flexible, just let me know what ya need!

Amber goes above and beyond, and I can depend on her to be there when I need her. She is very knowledgeable and has a lot of expertise with dogs and went above and beyond and gave me great value today when she bathed both of my dogs. One of them is a puppy and quite the shyster. She is a golden doodle and I know they are not easy to keep groomed. Thanks, Amber and I will see you next time!

This was our second time having AJ look after our dog. AJ was again great with our two dogs. They both really liked her. It was our new dog Lucy's frist time being watched by AJ. Lucy loved AJ and was AJ's new buddy. We will definitely use AJ again and recommend them to anyone needing a pet sitter. AJ communicated through out the day with us. It's nice being able to leave the dogs and know they were being well cared for.

About: I have been a dog mom for 2 of my own and have fostered dozens of large dogs, sick or healthy, many from kill lists that I help to heal. It's not just physical, but mental healing and manners, inside the home or out in public. All my fosters have gone on to be adopted by loving families! I primarily do boarding, and can walk your dog (s), keep your dog in my home where I have a huge fenced yard. House sitting, drop ins and walks are good if you live close to my place. I am mostly retired. I’m allergic to cats, so no house sitting your dogs if there is a cat present. My experience with foster dogs has taught me how to easily handle dogs with positive re-enforcement. I don't demand that your dog(s) submit to me. I give praise every time I catch them doing well. I train house manners when in my home to eliminate counter surfing, attempts to push through a door first and they get to practice their obedience commands. Lots of walks and a prolific amount of play engage their minds allowing them to work mentally and physically to become a happier pet. I believe all dogs are good dogs, it's the people that need to bring out the best in them. Your dog(s) will be happy! I appreciate the generosity of happy pet owners and all cash tips support my dog foster efforts :). Thanks!

May was absolutely wonderful with my chickens while I was on vacation! She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, safe, and well cared for. She even brought them a special pinecone treat to play with, sat and read to them, and went the extra mile by checking on them an additional time when we had stormy weather. 🥹🐔 It was so clear that May genuinely cared about my chickens, and knowing she was looking after them gave me such peace of mind while I was away. I came home to happy, well-loved chickens, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I would absolutely recommend May and would love to have her care for my flock again!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Johnstown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Johnstown with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
