“Heidi was prompt and did a great job with our pups. They can be a bit much and she handled them well. She even brought in packages from our porch! We will definitely use her again.”
“Emily was great with our cat Mila and even came to meet her before we left on our vacation. She followed all instructions, communicated well with us, and was very dependable. We were comforted in knowing she would come on time to make sure Mila got her foods and meds, a few treats and also some ear and head scratches.”

About: I have an associates degree in Veterinary Technology and worked in the veterinary field for 5 years. During that time I would often watch coworker's and friend's pets including both cats and dogs. I am experienced with giving medications and caring for senior pets who may need a little extra help and care! I am currently working part-time with a schedule that changes week to week. I am always available before 8am and after 7:30pm as well as most weekends. In all of my past pet sitting gigs, I have always tried my best to respect other's homes and traditions. I am very flexible and will always respect any and all wishes when it comes to your home an beloved pets!

About: Since 2020, I've been providing dependable dog walking and in-home pet care for families in the Inver Grove Heights, West St. Paul, and South St. Paul areas. As a proud British Lab owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets the way you would. In addition to dog walks, I provide drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. Whether it's feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, administering simple care routines, playtime, litter box or cage maintenance, or simply spending quality time with your pet, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. My Yard: 5 ft privacy fence entirely enclosing the yard and deck. My Pet: 65lb spayed female British lab Crating? I follow your routine so if you want them crated, I will do that (some parents teach dogs to be crated at night). I would only ever use it other than your specific direction if I were to leave the house to store, etc. Dog won't be alone long - I am home during days. My family: 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 kid in house. Scope us out! Come visit with your pup for a meet & greet! I believe every pet has a unique personality and deserves individualized care, patience, and affection. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you're away, knowing your pets are safe, loved, and receiving the attention they deserve. I am flexible during weekdays, mostly for check ins, potty breaks and feeding. In evening and weekends I am open for walks, check ins and feedings. I follow your Pet's routine as you detail it! Walks I require a leash. I send you updates and photos from walks or check ins
“Dylan and Kayla did an excellent job meeting my kitties where they were at and allowing them to get comfortable with them in their own time. They are reliable, responsive and absolutely love the cats.”
About: Weather your looking for a dog sitter or some walks here and there i’m your girl — I’ve grown up with animals all my life and would love to have your fur friend for as long as you need! I’m currently in school for dental hygiene and currently work as an orthodontic dental assistant— Always home on the weeksdays after work and on the weekends I can easily crate your dog if needed. I have a friendly loving spring spaniel who loves having friends stay. We love long walks after work and some play time in the backyard.
“Erin has been a huge blessing for us and our dog! She has always arrived right on time and has taken the time and patience to convince our older, anxious golden doodle to be friends. We are always nervous leaving our spoiled, attention seeking girl home alone but knowing Erin is stopping in for visits to play or have a potty break makes us feel more comfortable and relaxed knowing she's in good hands!”

“You did an amazing job! We loved your updates and felt very secure knowing you were around to take care of Poppy. We thought it was really cute how you’d shape her food for her. Thank you so much!”

About: I grew up with dogs and have been around them my whole life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I now have a dog of my own, which has given me hands-on experience with daily care, exercise, playtime, and maintaining a routine. I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to each dog’s unique personality and needs. I’m a teacher and am currently on summer break, so I have plenty of availability right now. My schedule will become more limited toward the end of August when the school year begins. Currently, I’m unable to care for dogs in my home, but I’m happy to come to my clients’ homes to provide the care their dogs need.

About: I've been a reliable and eager sitter for many people's pets since I was 10 years old. I can check in on your pet and your house, take them for walks and provide other enrichment activities such fetch, playing with toys and lots of petting and belly rubs. I love all animals and I love being outside so I would do great with active dogs! I'm a teacher but I am available before work and after the school day to care for your pet. My weekends are very flexible. I am already an active person so walking your pets would easily fit into my daily schedule. I have a large fenced in backyard. I am attentive and responsible. I will treat your pet like they family member they are to you!

““Highly recommend! My dog is handicapped and cannot walk, so finding someone I could truly trust was very important. She took exceptional care of my dog and went above and beyond to make sure all of her special needs were met. She was patient, compassionate, attentive, and kept me updated while I was away, which gave me great peace of mind. My dog was comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time. It’s not easy caring for a special-needs dog, but she handled everything wonderfully. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.””

About: I have a high-energy husky named Neko who created a lot of my recent experience. We go on daily adventurous hikes (although in the summer, less). He is my travel companion; I take him everywhere and you will rarely see me without him! He has taught me patience in the best ways. Prior to him, I have been an animal lover (mostly cats and dogs) my whole life. I have baby sat a puppy in the past, I know they are a lot of work but it is something I can do. I can do cat care as well, like the basics. Food, litter box etc. Expect me to be hanging out with your pet however they thrive best. If you have an active dog and the weather is good, we will probably be outside every couple hours. I work from home and take lots of breaks throughout the day with my husky, who typically enjoys lots of outside time. If you have a cat, they will potentially be sitting on my keyboard as I am trying to work, and we love that. I will follow whatever routines you have set in place already for a consistent experience so the pet is OK with their human being away. Also, it could be a good time to have new adventures on walks, likely on a leash and in public park or bike trail.
“Katie was great, she came through on a somewhat last minute request when my prior sitter was no longer available, and made it work! I came home to a pretty mellow kitty and had the ease of knowing she was getting some love while I was away. No complaints!!”

About: I grew up with dogs in my home from birth, and had up to 4 dogs in my house all at different ages. Family and friends have relied on me to walk, bathe, and sit for their doggies since I was 8 or nine years old. I have experience working with puppies all the way to senior dogs at the end of their lives. I specifically cared for two of my own senior dogs by providing homemade food, cleaning up accidents, and providing a safe location to go through seizures. I am out of school for the summer, and working a few hours each week remotely. I have ample time to spend with your dog or cat. I am up early on weekday mornings to go to the gym, so I can do early morning let outs/ walks as well as daytime and evening or even overnight care. I am able to come to your home to care for your pet with great daily flexibility. I have a vehicle, so I can easily pop over and let out your pet or feed them/ change a litter box. I can also do a home stay for whatever period of time is needed.
“Sy was such a pleasure and did a wonderful job dropping in to visit my two cats for a week. She was thoughtful, easy to communicate with, and flexible. I can tell she and Lucas have a real love for animals and they love them too. Even my shy cat, Franny, warmed up to them quickly. I received thorough updates and lots of pictures that made me feel very comfortable leaving them knowing they were in good hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Inver Grove Heights
Ingrid has done a few drop in visits with our schnauzer puppy. She's been wonderful about being communicative, sending pictures and updates, and following detailed instructions for care. She spent a lot of time at our meet and greet asking lots of questions and even giving lots of attention to our cats, who she was not there to care for. I would highly recommend Ingrid and we will be sure to rely on her again for future care.

This was our first time using Rover so we had no idea what to expect when we booked a drop-in visit/walk. Heidi was fantastic and took great care of Baxter and Lobo on such short notice. They absolutely loved her. The only thing that would have helped even more was a note whether or not they pooped on their walk or play time. Everything else was perfect and we’d be more than happy to have Heidi watch them again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
