“Bonnie was great with our two black cats! She could even tell them apart! Made sure they ate, had some play time, and some cuddles during her drop ins. Lots of pics and notes about each visit. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel did a fantastic job watching our cats while we were away. She went above and beyond their needs and was very prompt with communication! We will definitely book with her again.”

About: I recently retired early, sold my small business, and am excited to spend more time doing something that has always been a big part of my life - caring for and loving animals. I have been a pet mom and caregiver for many years, looking after furry friends of every age, personality, and quirk. I have 2 kitties, one who is an outgoing crazy character and the other sweet and shy. We sadly lost our Goldendoodle recently and I'd love to share cuddles and walks with your dog(s). I am reliable, patient and calm - and treat every pet with the same affection and care I give my own. I recently retired so my schedule is very flexible for daily drop-ins, overnight stays, walks, playtime, and cuddles. Have a last-minute trip or unexpected work meeting? I have the time and treats! When caring for your pets, I put their safety and comfort first. With many years of experience caring for pets, I know that each is unique, with different personalities and comfort level with new people. I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is for everything to feel just as safe, calm, and familiar as when you are there. I follow your routines closely, keep your home tidy, and pay attention to all of the little things that help your pet feel secure. What sets me apart is that during my career, I traveled quite a bit and hired pet sitters to stay with my kitties and dog. I know, from a client's perspective, what was important to me and my fur babies. I will send you daily updates and photos (unless that's not your preference), so you and your pets can feel completely comfortable and stress-free.

I enjoy spending my free time with animals, whether that means going for a walk, stopping by for a visit, playing with a kitty, or giving a pet some extra attention and cuddles. I’m able to plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, meals, and care they need. I’m dependable and flexible, and I’m happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and needs. 🐾 When caring for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible while you’re away. I follow their normal routines closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any other instructions you provide. I know pets can feel more comfortable in their familiar environment, so I give them plenty of attention and companionship while allowing them to stay in the space they know and love. I’m respectful of your home and will always leave things clean and just as I found them. I’m also happy to send regular updates and pictures so you can feel confident that your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for! 🐾❤️

“Ashley was great with our 8 year old golden doodle. Responded quickly to our last minute booking request, came right over for a meet and greet and followed through by being fantastic with our dog for several drop in visits over a weekend. She came right on time and sent us plenty of pictures and video so we knew all was well. It was great knowing our fur baby was in good hands and that peace of mind allowed us to relax and enjoy our evenings without worry. We will definitely be booking Ashley again soon!”

“Megan was wondering and both our dogs loved her. She came over for an hour visit for a few different days and the pups were so happy to see her and wanted to cuddle with her. Will definitely use Megan again!”

“Mikayla took excellent care of my cats while I was out of town! She went above and beyond by helping clean up after them and helped me out by taking out the trash. She played with them during her visits and sent me pictures. When I arrived home, I found a sweet note and new toy for them as a thank you gift! She is a great sitter to have.”

About: A Loving Home Away From Home 🐾 I love animals of all sizes and personalities—from big dogs to tiny pups, and from energetic adventurers to professional couch potatoes! I have years of experience caring for my own cats and dogs, along with training experience through courses such as Puppy Training 101 and training for fearful/reactive dogs. I’m also an experienced foster provider for two local animal rescues. Fostering requires additional vetting, training, and an in-home visit, and I’m proud to help rescue dogs on their journey to finding their forever homes. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages and sizes, and I’m happy to care for cats, too. For boarding, I’m unable to accept dogs who are aggressive toward people or other animals so that I can keep everyone safe and comfortable. I also telework multiple days per week, which allows me to provide frequent potty breaks and plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether your pup wants walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a cozy place to relax, I’m happy to tailor their stay to what they enjoy most! 🐶💕 On weekends, I’m home most of the time. I also work from home multiple days per week, so pets are rarely left alone for long periods. I may occasionally be out for a short time for work, errands, or shopping, but I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, attention, and care throughout the day. In my home, your pet can enjoy a mix of playtime, walks, relaxation, and social time with our resident pup, depending on their personality and comfort level. For care in your home, I’m available for drop-in visits and sitting, including check-ins, playtime, potty breaks, and walks. I’m happy to tailor their care to their individual routine and needs. For boarding I will require proof of vaccination/current flea prevention. I will not accept behaviors or aggressive dogs in my home unfortunately.
About: I care for each pet as if they were my own. I walk, run and play with them. I treat every pet like a friend, offering comfort, attention and emotional connection. I bathe my dog about every other month. We have a routine in the morning with a walk before breakfast. Sometimes a walk around lunch time and another one after work is done. He is well loved and treated like a family member. I work full time Monday through Friday. I am in my office 3 half days and full time at home the other 2 days. I could stop at someone’s place on my way home to spend time with a dog and walk them. I can also stop over after work and later in the evening. In my home I have a fenced in yard that my dog can run free and play. If I am in a clients home I would make sure that there is nothing that the dog/puppy could get into after spending time with them/walking them.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs almost my entire life. We offer a loving home near walking paths and parks. “Elyse is awesome!! Her communication is top notch, and I love coming home to happy pups. I appreciate that she took the time to come over the night before her first visit to meet my dogs and get the run down of everything.”

About: We have grown up around dogs all our lives. We treat every dog as if they were our own, making sure they are cared for and loved while you're away. We have two children who adore all dogs and would love to snuggle your fur babies. Family and friends have trusted us for years caring for their pets. After losing our yellow Lab in 2022 at a young age due to health complications, our home felt much quieter. While we weren’t ready to welcome another dog into our family, we knew we still had so much love and care to give. That’s what inspired us to join Rover. I currently work full time Mon - Fri until 1:30/2 pm. close to home. But, I do have a flexible schedule to check in on breaks, accommodate and care for your pet. My wife also works part time/ schedule varies. We coordinate our schedules to make sure needs are met. We have a large, privacy- fenced in backyard with plenty of room to roam and play! We have a 3 year old black lab who loves to make new friends and play. If they prefer their own space, we are mindful of each dog’s comfort level. We can easily crate your dog if needed for sleep and when need to leave the house for a bit.

About: I’ve grown up caring for and pet sitting all kinds of animals, and I’ve been trusted by many family members and neighbors to take care of their pets. I absolutely love animals and enjoy spending time with them! I currently have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your pets. I’d love the opportunity to give your pets plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away! I currently work full-time from 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, but I have my mornings, evenings, and overnights available for pet care. My weekends are also completely free, giving me plenty of flexibility to spend time with and care for pets. I always want pets to feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I’m happy to follow their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I’ll also make sure to keep their space clean and tidy and follow any specific instructions or preferences their owner provides.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years, house-sitting for friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues. Potty-trained puppies, taught tricks to both cats and dogs, and worked with dogs of all ages on proper leash manners. Every animal I’ve owned has been a rescue, so I’m familiar with the trauma and anxiety a lot of dogs carry. That means I move slowly with nervous pets, let them set the pace, and never force interaction. My own Lab-Pitty mix has severe allergies, so I’ve mastered the art of hiding medicine in treats - pills, drops, whatever your pet needs. I’m home most of the day, so your pet won’t be sitting alone waiting for me. I’ll stick to their normal feeding and walk schedule, and send photo updates so you know exactly how they’re doing. Pets are never left unsupervised outside. My HOA doesn’t allow fences, so all potty breaks and outdoor time happen on leash with me right there. If your dog is comfortable on a tie-out and you’re okay with it, I’m happy to use one - always supervised, but leash is my default. Indoors, I keep exterior doors and gates checked, store food and medications out of reach, and give new pets a slow introduction to the space before they have the run of it. When I’m house-sitting, I follow your routine exactly: same feeding times, same walk schedule, same rules you have at home. I ask for your vet’s info and the nearest emergency clinic before every stay, and I’ll text you right away if anything seems off. My own dog (a friendly, well-socialized Lab-Pitty mix) lives here, so your dog will have company. I do slow, leashed introductions before anyone’s off duty, and I can keep them separated with gates and crates if your dog prefers their own space or if it’s just not a match.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cottage Grove
Elyse met up with us at it home to get a general lay of the land; to see what we needed and it turns out that she is a super wonderful woman. We had her come by to make sure our super shy cat, Anne Bonny, was fed. Now, I hardly see this cat and she loves me, but on day one, Anne Bonny was rolling over and letting Elyse rub her belly! I'm hoping that Elyse is available every time we need to go out of town!

Caleb, is absolutely awesome! I was initially nervous about boarding my 65 pound bully, Remi, as she’s a creature habit. So, I opt for in-home drop-in. We arranged four meet -n- greet to ensure Remi and Caleb became comfortable with each other. By the third meeting, Remi was practically trying to go home with Caleb. That’s when we knew we made them perfect choice.! Caleb kept us updated with pictures throughout vacation, which gave us such peace of mind. He truly is awesome and I’ll definitely continue to use his service. Thanks to the positive experience. I’m now even considering trying his daycare service and eventually boarding. Thanks Caleb for taking such wonderful care of my sweet girl Remi.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
