About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years, house-sitting for friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues. Potty-trained puppies, taught tricks to both cats and dogs, and worked with dogs of all ages on proper leash manners. Every animal I’ve owned has been a rescue, so I’m familiar with the trauma and anxiety a lot of dogs carry. That means I move slowly with nervous pets, let them set the pace, and never force interaction. My own Lab-Pitty mix has severe allergies, so I’ve mastered the art of hiding medicine in treats - pills, drops, whatever your pet needs. I’m home most of the day, so your pet won’t be sitting alone waiting for me. I’ll stick to their normal feeding and walk schedule, and send photo updates so you know exactly how they’re doing. Pets are never left unsupervised outside. My HOA doesn’t allow fences, so all potty breaks and outdoor time happen on leash with me right there. If your dog is comfortable on a tie-out and you’re okay with it, I’m happy to use one - always supervised, but leash is my default. Indoors, I keep exterior doors and gates checked, store food and medications out of reach, and give new pets a slow introduction to the space before they have the run of it. When I’m house-sitting, I follow your routine exactly: same feeding times, same walk schedule, same rules you have at home.
