“Alex was awesome with our chocolate lab Trigger! She communicates great, cares for Trig so well and Trigger absolutely loves her! She did drop ins while I was on vacation and we couldn’t trust her more. We 100% recommend Alex and will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals and genuinely love caring for them like they’re part of the family. I’m reliable, attentive, and understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of different ages and temperaments. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions and medications. I’ll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins to give you peace of mind. I work a flexible hybrid schedule - 3 days in office, 2 days at home. When we leave our dog home alone to roam the house Monday - Friday, she is alone 8:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 5:00 with a mid-day lunch and potty break. We have a 2-year-old 75 lb Pyredoodle who LOVES to play and wrestle, so your dog will have a built-in buddy. We also have a fully fenced backyard for safe playtime and exercise. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and beds. Our home is smoke-free and kid-free.
“Cassondra has been doing an amazing job with my 10-week old Corgi! Getting a new job and a new puppy at the same time was not on my bingo card and I found myself unsure how to manage all this. Enter Cassondra who has been a lifesaver. She visits twice a day to let Juniper outside and plays with her. She’s helped to clean up a couple accidents… because, that’s what happens with puppies. I don’t know what I would do without her. I appreciate her communication and pictures she sends too!”

“Kallyn has done such good work dropping in to feed and play with my cat! She is reliable, trustworthy, and clearly cares deeply for animals. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook her in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m Abby 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover and would love the opportunity to care for your furry family members while you’re away! I have 3 years of experience caring for all kinds of cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic pups who need a good walk and playtime to laid-back dogs and cats who just want some company and cuddles. I’m experienced with walking, feeding, giving pets attention, and keeping them on their normal routines. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, so I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own. I’m responsible, dependable, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I’m also happy to send plenty of updates and pictures while you’re away so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are happy and well cared for! Whether your pet needs a walk, a meal, some playtime, or simply a little extra love and attention, I’d be happy to help. I’d love to meet you and your pets and become someone you can count on whenever they need care! 🐶🐱❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine! I enjoy spending my free time with animals, whether that means going for a walk, stopping by for a visit, playing with a kitty, or giving a pet some extra attention and cuddles. I’m able to plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, meals, and care they need. I’m dependable and flexible, and I’m happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and needs. 🐾 When caring for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible while you’re away. “Rachel did a great job taking care of our dog Frankie. She did a great job communicating with us when she did her drop-in visits. I will definitely recommend Rachel to my friends.”

About: I have experience owning and caring for Miniature Schnauzers and Miniature Dachshunds. These dogs have taught me so much about patience, companionship, routines, and the unique personalities and needs of different breeds. I truly love dogs and enjoy giving them the attention, affection, exercise, and care they deserve. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved when their families are away. I would treat every dog in my care like one of my own. As a self-employed person who works from home, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide plenty of time, attention, and companionship to the animals in my care. Working from home means I can be available throughout the day for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and check-ins. I’m able to work around each pet’s individual routine and needs, while still keeping up with my own work responsibilities. I love having the opportunity to give pets the care, attention, and love they deserve while their families are away. I would care for a client’s pet as if it were my own. I would follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep the pet’s feeding, medication, exercise, and potty schedule consistent, and give them plenty of attention and affection. I would also keep the home clean and safe, provide regular updates to the owner, and make sure their pet feels comfortable, loved, and secure while they’re away.

About: I recently retired early, sold my small business, and am excited to spend more time doing something that has always been a big part of my life - caring for and loving animals. I have been a pet mom and caregiver for many years, looking after furry friends of every age, personality, and quirk. I have 2 kitties, one who is an outgoing crazy character and the other sweet and shy. We sadly lost our Goldendoodle recently and I'd love to share cuddles and walks with your dog(s). I am reliable, patient and calm - and treat every pet with the same affection and care I give my own. I recently retired so my schedule is very flexible for daily drop-ins, overnight stays, walks, playtime, and cuddles. Have a last-minute trip or unexpected work meeting? I have the time and treats! When caring for your pets, I put their safety and comfort first. With many years of experience caring for pets, I know that each is unique, with different personalities and comfort level with new people. I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is for everything to feel just as safe, calm, and familiar as when you are there. I follow your routines closely, keep your home tidy, and pay attention to all of the little things that help your pet feel secure. What sets me apart is that during my career, I traveled quite a bit and hired pet sitters to stay with my kitties and dog. I know, from a client's perspective, what was important to me and my fur babies. I will send you daily updates and photos (unless that's not your preference), so you and your pets can feel completely comfortable and stress-free.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs almost my entire life. We offer a loving home near walking paths and parks. Our previous dog was a golden doodle, which we were fortunate to spend 12 glorious years Looking forward to spending time with your pet. We have a nice big fenced in yard for run around playtime’s, We know your pet is an extension of your family, and we will treat with utmost respect and care, fenced in yard offers a lot of exercise if your dog needs it. “Ashley was absolutely amazing! She had great communication including photos. She went above and beyond to make sure our pets were cared for and felt comfortable with her. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Emily was the best! We had never used Rover and she made sure we felt comfortable trusting her with our baby. She was so responsible and took such good care of our Jeanie dog. We got pictures of them playing, she was on time, and made sure she did her deeds outside before she left. We were so happy with how the whole process went and Jeans was a happy dog upon our arrival home.”

About: I have had a lot of pets currently I have two cats and a snake. In the past I have lived in households with dogs who have been left in my care for extended periods of time. I also have some experience with dog training. I do currently have a full-time job, however I work afternoons/nights so I am available before work as well as my days off, I have a set schedule so I am always available the same days. I have never lived in a house without any pets, so I am very confident reading body language to make sure animals are comfortable with me

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years, house-sitting for friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues. Potty-trained puppies, taught tricks to both cats and dogs, and worked with dogs of all ages on proper leash manners. Every animal I’ve owned has been a rescue, so I’m familiar with the trauma and anxiety a lot of dogs carry. That means I move slowly with nervous pets, let them set the pace, and never force interaction. My own Lab-Pitty mix has severe allergies, so I’ve mastered the art of hiding medicine in treats - pills, drops, whatever your pet needs. I’m home most of the day, so your pet won’t be sitting alone waiting for me. I’ll stick to their normal feeding and walk schedule, and send photo updates so you know exactly how they’re doing. Pets are never left unsupervised outside. My HOA doesn’t allow fences, so all potty breaks and outdoor time happen on leash with me right there. If your dog is comfortable on a tie-out and you’re okay with it, I’m happy to use one - always supervised, but leash is my default. Indoors, I keep exterior doors and gates checked, store food and medications out of reach, and give new pets a slow introduction to the space before they have the run of it. When I’m house-sitting, I follow your routine exactly: same feeding times, same walk schedule, same rules you have at home. I ask for your vet’s info and the nearest emergency clinic before every stay, and I’ll text you right away if anything seems off. My own dog (a friendly, well-socialized Lab-Pitty mix) lives here, so your dog will have company. I do slow, leashed introductions before anyone’s off duty, and I can keep them separated with gates and crates if your dog prefers their own space or if it’s just not a match.
“Elyse met up with us at it home to get a general lay of the land; to see what we needed and it turns out that she is a super wonderful woman. We had her come by to make sure our super shy cat, Anne Bonny, was fed. Now, I hardly see this cat and she loves me, but on day one, Anne Bonny was rolling over and letting Elyse rub her belly! I'm hoping that Elyse is available every time we need to go out of town!”

“Melanie was wonderful as always! Our cats are always happy to see her . Everything was smooth and easy. Love the pictures she sends of the cats each visit. Will use her to watch our cats again in the future!!”

- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
