About: I am a doctoral candidate in Biology at UofL, so you know I'm good at organization and scheduling! I think my time as a graduate student has sharpened my reasoning and communication skills as well. It's also increased my animal handling experience (mice)! I've had pets my whole life, mostly cats and dogs. My most recent pet is an elderly shi tzu with a surprising amount of energy! Apollo is a very skiddish cat, but we've definitely earned each others' trust. I can drop by to check on your pet, take them out for a walk (if weekday, must be before 10am or after 5pm, can be flexible), check on them periodically to feed them, or house sit (weekends only). I am a grad student, so I'm usually busy during weekdays 10am-5pm. Most of my work now is away from the bench, so I can be a little flexible about those hours Weekends are generally open! I love in an apartment that doesn't allow animals so I can't keep any here. I can however watch your furry friend at your house or take them on walks around the neighborhood!

About: I’ve had over 20 pets growing up, from dogs, hamsters, ferrets, you name it. I have lots of experience working with animals, including lots of training caring for animals and building fast-strong bonds. Im an educator with early mornings that allow me ample time in the early afternoons and evenings to care for you pet. My schedule is pretty flexible and able to fit around your pet sitting needs when giving proper notice. I can also be available for quick dog walks and check ins everyday of the week. I have my own dog, Onyx who is able to roam free unless I leave the house and will offer the same freedom to your dog. We live in a great neighborhood with other friendly pet owners and provide a great route for nice long walks to enjoy the weather. I can also crate or fence in your pet if needed as well.

About: I’ve had a cat or dog as a pet for almost all of my life. I had two cats for their entire lifetime, and currently have 2 chihuahua mixes. One is a special needs Senior, and the other is 5 years old. I’m an educator, that is currently on summer break. I have plenty of time to walk your dogs or drop in to care for your pets. I do a lot of walking with my own two dogs, so I would love to give yours a great workout. I can also do drop ins to feed, give meds, or play with your pet.

About: I have a genuine love for animals and I have been pet/house sitting for about 10 years. I have always had pets and been around all different kinds of animals. I just graduated from law school, I started my new job post law school. I do work in an office, but I am able to stop in and make sure your animal is taken care of. I live in an apartment so I would prefer to take care of a pet at your home. I am happy to walk a dog on a leash, let them out to play, play with them, take them to a dog park.

Sam is just an amazing person and she takes great care of my dog Bucky, when she walks him...he can be a challenge but she is so sweet and patient with him, and he loves her to bits. He gets so excited when she comes, and not only does she do a great job on the walks with him, but she goes the extra mile in other ways and is a kind and caring lady that just brings a bit of sunshine in when she comes. I do recommend her, she is wonderful.

About: I've had pets since I was a child: dogs, cats, birds, fish, all kinds of animals. I love animals. I've rescued many from homeless and abandoned homes. Now I want to take care of that loved one so you can rest easy while you work or vacation. I have a fenced yard and my neighborhood is quiet. I'm currently home all day, so I'll be able to devote a lot of time to the pets. I have a baby who will just turn one, so it's important that they be friendly and calm pets. I live in a house with a large, quiet yard. They can sunbathe and play. I can take care of oral medications. Nothing serious, please.

Lauran was fantastic while I was visiting Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks and Derby weekend. Her communication was top notch, always quick to respond and kept me updated throughout the two days. I especially appreciated her flexibility when I needed to add an extra walk at the last minute, she was incredibly accommodating and handled it without any issues. It’s a huge relief to find someone so reliable and easy to work with when you're visiting another city for an event. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a professional and adaptable walker!

If your fur baby has any medical conditions or is recovering from surgery, I’ll assist anyway I can to make sure they are comfortable. As my animals have aged, I’ve experienced my fare share of nonstop watching, carrying and cleaning so the task is not a negative. I will make sure you feel the least stress possible. About: I have experience with both young and older pets. With puppies and kittens, I stay consistent with routines and can help reinforce basic training like potty habits, feeding schedules, and positive behavior. For senior pets, I’m gentle and attentive to their needs, whether that means giving medication, moving at a slower pace, or just providing extra comfort and companionship. I also make sure pet owners feel at ease by keeping communication open—I can send updates, photos, and check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to create a stress-free experience for both you and your pet. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for. I make time for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day, and I’m consistent with routines so pets feel comfortable and secure. Throughout the week, I stay flexible to meet each pet’s specific needs, whether that’s extra visits, longer walks, or special care. I’m reliable and make sure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure pets are comfortable, safe, and kept on their normal routine. I follow all feeding instructions, give fresh water, regular potty breaks, and plenty of exercise and attention. I also provide playtime, affection, and calm companionship so they feel at ease while you’re away. I keep the space clean and always respect the client’s home just like it’s my own.

From the very beginning, Fatima went above and beyond with my dog. I’ve worked with other sitters before, but none came close to the level of care and attention she gave. My dog wasn’t feeling well while I was away, and she handled everything with such kindness and responsibility. Even though he’s usually shy with new people, she patiently earned his trust until he was completely comfortable by her side. She kept me reassured with constant updates, photos, and thoughtful messages. Fatima is the kind of sitter every pet owner hopes to find, and I’d recommend her in a heartbeat!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
