About: I am a UGA grad student working as a vet tech while I apply to veterinary school, with the past two years at the same clinic. I have a 13 y/o Shih Tzu who I have had since she was a puppy, and a 5 y/o British Shorthair who came to me February of 2024. I love anything hairy, scaly, or in between, and would love to make your babies’ day! I have extended lunch breaks and several half-days throughout the week, so I can drop in for the afternoons or evenings for as long as you need. I have ample pet care experience, with the past 5 years having been in a professional setting. My own dog is rather crafty, so I’m extra careful with escape artists. As the owner of a senior animal, I know the extra care that it takes for more fragile fur babies, and my time as a vet tech means that your animals cannot give me anything that I haven’t already seen before.
10. Megan M.
About: My services include the basic outside time and feeding times, but leave room for walks, baths, and lots of playtime at the pet owner's discretion. I've worked with animals for over 15 years, have learned basic training techniques, been a pet sitter for several families, and have dealt with a variety of breeds (and sizes). Currently, I am living in the greater Athens, GA area with my Catahoula mix, Schatzie. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Animal Science and have decided that I want to devote my life to working with animals. I would love to get to know you and your four-legged friend(s)! Why do I love dog sitting? I've been a dog-lover my entire life. I grew up with cats, and decided that for my 16th birthday I wanted a dog instead of a car. I grew up volunteering at the local CSRA Humane Society - from dog walking to helping the vet tech there, my love for animals grew. It’s where I adopted my first dogs, Lorraine and MJ. It's my passion for animals that then led me to study Animal Science in college, and through my studies, I gained valuable experience with a variety of species. I am happy to watch your dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, reptiles, and the like! Do I have experience administering medication? Yes; I have spent several years working along-side a vet tech, and have become comfortable administering a variety of medications and treatments.
11. Linda K.
“Linda was great with my dog! She took him for a few walks while I was in Atlanta for the day. Very communicative and punctual, and did a great job with my dog for his first time on Rover!”
12. Sam c.
“Sam used to be a dog walker for me when I injured my foot. She would come twice a day to walk Mackie for 30 minutes each time but would sometimes stay longer if Mackie had extra energy that day. She would do a mixture of running and walking and Mackie would come back so tired everytime.”
13. Katrine S.
About: I have had dogs and cats in my life since I was a baby, I currently have two dogs of my own at my house. I currently work full time Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:30/4PM I am available anytime on Saturday and Sunday as well. I am also pretty flexible. Diesel is extremely friendly and gets along well with others and he will be a good dog to keep yours company! I have a 50ft Lead for the dog to roam the back yard.
14. Adam G.
“Adam was awesome - reliable, flexible, and super professional! Kai loved him and so did we!!!! I wish he was local so we could hire him any time we are out of town!”
15. Megan M.
“I can't recommend Megan enough! She always does an incredible job taking care of my dog, Amber, who is a big Rhodesian Ridgeback. I have used her multiple times for both drop-in care as well as overnight stays and Amber absolutely adores her. Not only does she make sure my dog gets plenty of fresh air and exercise, but she also engages with her by playing with her favorite toys and even takes her along on errands and to the dog park. She also spoils her with lots of extra attention and love! It’s clear that Megan genuinely cares about animals and treats my dog as if she were her own. I feel completely at ease knowing Amber is in such good hands each time we use Megan. If you're looking for a responsible, caring, and attentive dog sitter, Megan is the one!”
16. Starr M.
“Starr completely saved my day. If I could give over 5 stars, I sure would. My sitter fell through last minute and didn’t show but starr was able to immediately go walk my girl. So thankful for Starr and will be forever grateful for the help I received. Definitely book Starr if you are needing a sitter.”
17. Jennie P.
About: I've had dogs and cats (and countless other pets) my whole life. I've been dog sitting for neighbors and friends since I was 10, and taking care of my own pets since I was 5. I worked for a PetSmart pet hotel running doggy day camp everyday, and caring for all of the many cats and dogs boarding. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about safety and first aid when it comes to pets. I've also volunteered at several animal shelters, caring for the animals, but also making sure they get some love. I'm comfortable around all different breeds and sizes of dogs. I am also comfortable with administering medications and caring for senior pets and puppies/kittens. If you are interested in boarding with me: Your dog cannot be dog aggressive. My dog Oscar is a registered therapy dog. He is excellent with all kinds of dogs of all sizes and energy levels. If your dog isn’t a huge fan of new friends that’s fine, he’ll get the hint and let them be. As long as they aren’t aggressive that’s no problem. He’s playful at times, but also a big fan of napping all day if that’s more what your dog has in mind. I have a fenced in yard. There are also no stairs needed to access the yard, which is great for older dogs or those that just aren’t a fan of stairs. I am both a PhD student and a homebody, so most days I’m home working on papers, grading, all that fun stuff. I love the study breaks I get from letting my dog out and spending some play time with him, and love any excuse to get out and walk or love on a dog! My home has a fenced in yard and my friendly dog Oscar who is great with new dogs. He is especially patient with puppies and older dogs. On walks elsewhere I carry a safety kit with items to safely break up dog fights. I’ve never had to use it thankfully! But working in a doggy day camp and receiving training in handling fights, I learned you can never be too careful. I make every effort to avoid any unleashed dogs on walks, but still like to be prepared for anything.
18. Kaitlyn J.
“Kaitlyn is a reaponsible person who cares for everything she comes in contact with. She was great at the dog kennel and really has a thing for animals.”
19. Emily H.
“Emily has such a wonderful soul! She's great with my two dogs and she always has no trouble with them over the weekend. I can always trust her to be on time and do what I need her to do. She's been watching my dogs over weekends for almost a year now, and it's been the best decision I've made for my dogs. 10/10 would recommend.”
20. Amelia L.
About: I have raised kittens and puppies to adults. Pets make me feel happy and complete. I enjoy spending time with them either playing or walking. I want them to feel loved and secure. I have loved various dogs on my own. 2 of my dogs have been given K-9 off leash training. I understand how to be firm and alert when walking in public. I have worked at my friend's Boarding and Training business, The Training Spot on Nashville TN. I have been in charge of 25+ dogs to feed, play, and provide medication. There are always a variety of breeds and I have learned how to work with them all. I don't mind staying overnight. My fur babies will not be left alone as my husband will be home with them. I have purchased my own Pet Insurance which goes above for coverage than Rover. I have a very flexible schedule to be able to provide excellent service and attention to your fur babies. I am very good with time management and communication. I ask specific questions so that the fur babies keep their routine and stress free while I take care of them while the parents are away.
