“Samantha did a fantastic job taking care of our pets while we were out of town. We have a dog that is challenging when you first meet her, but Samantha with her calm demeanor and animal behavior experience, won our dog over and now Fiadh loves it when Samatha comes over for a walk. Samantha kept in touch with us consistently and sent plenty of pictures. We highly recommend her!”

“Dan & Kat took care of our babies for a week and it went awesome! In the past, one of our boys has had anxiety when we've left and had accidents. Not so this time! Our two dogs and cat loved Dan & Kat and we wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. From the meet and greet to being flexible on our dogs' schedules and daily updates, everything was absolutely perfect.”

“I’m so thankful for finding Hailey! This was my very first time leaving Luna ,my dog, and my home under someone else’s care and I couldn’t have chosen better! Luna was extremely comfortable with Hailey, as soon as she walked through the door Luna liked her. Her schedule was followed without issues and she even took her on long walks. Luna didn’t miss a single meal and I could tell she was happy and calm in every picture. She even put her hoodie on during colder days. My home was in good hands as well. It was so clean and tidy it didn’t even look like someone was staying there! Being our first time doing this, me and my husband were very nervous but Hailey sent us updates and pictures as often as she could and that allowed us to enjoy our trip. As dog owners, we look for someone who would treat your dog as their own and that’s exactly what Hailey did! I can confidently say I will keep coming to back to her every time I need my home or my dog taken care of! Thank you Hailey!”

“Olivia has stayed with our two dogs and one cat in our home twice now, and has been wonderful each time. She's responsive, attentive to the boys' needs and routines, and leaves our house in a lovely state to come home to! We would definitely recommend her!”

“Lani did a great job taking care of our high-energy dog. She responded quickly, sent photos, and went the extra mile to make sure our pup was happy and well cared for. We would definitely call on her again in the future.”

“Fantastic!! Alyse did a great job taking care of my 3 yr old standard poodle and 8 week old puppy. She kept me updated on how they were doing. I will definitely recommend her and hope to use her again to stay with pups.”

About: I've got multiple years of experience handling a highly anxious dog that can be dog selective during high stress situations. I was the one primarily training my family's two dogs, as well as the one taking them out on as many walks as I was able. I have multiple years worth of experience with senior dogs that had arthritis and who needed to have their food prepped especially for easier eating. I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia and currently looking into part time summer positions, however my schedule is very flexible with daily check-ins and overnight stays during both the week and weekend are very doable. During check-ins, outside of ensuring food and water are available, I would make sure to spend time playing and hanging out with any dog and if I have time to take them on a walk I will. For overnights, I would do the same thing with the only difference being the amount of time I'd be able to spend with the dog.

“Chris did an amazing job making my dogs feel comfortable with his presence and their routines. Our shepherd can be a little apprehensive of new people but he was licking Chris's face by day two. Also, upon our arrival home I could hardly tell that there was anyone new in our home. I will be a repeat customer of Chris's and I highly recommend his pet sitting services.”

About: Hi, I'm Emily! I have loved animals my entire life, growing up with a sweet toy poodle who taught me the ins and outs of attentive pet care. Today, I am the proud Mom of an energetic 11-month-old bernedoodle, so i am highly experienced with puppy energy, training routines, and keeping active dogs happy and stimulated. I currently work full time early mornings so I am free after 4pm during the week. My weekends are wide open to care for your pup. I currently will not be accepting house sitting in my home. I prefer to go to the client's home where the pup feels the most comfortable and secure.
“Sophia is wonderful! She instantly connected with my senior dog and took special favor to her needs. Sophia didn't even flinch with med requirements and was an overall champion for the experience. Look no further when booking.”

“Peyton is just wonderful! She did overnights with 3 of my dogs while we went to the beach. I couldn’t be happier! It was so nice to have the peace of mind that the dogs were well cared for. Peyton sent pictures every day, gave me updates, and even brought treats for the dogs! If you hire her, your pets will be in such good hands. I would definitely hire Peyton again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs growing up. I have always enjoyed playing with them and going out on walks. In addition I have experience bathing, grooming, and feeding them. Moreover I have volunteer experience cleaning up after and feeding animals at Sweet Olive Farm. I am working part time, however I should be free most weekend days for check ins or dog walking. I will also be available on weekends for dog sitting. Having pets growing up I would always ensure they had enough water and would feed them on their regular schedule. But most importantly I believe all pets need enrichment time. For house sitting I will uphold this standard. For walks I will make sure they get to sniff to their hearts content.
“Patty made our Thanksgiving travel so easy! She stayed in our home with our senior dog, keeping up with her feeding schedule. She left our home clean and our anxious dog happy. Patty responded to texts promptly, and helped with some unplanned chicken care. We will be seeing Patty again next time we need dog care!”

About: I grew up on a farm taking care of dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, and bunnies my whole life. I feel very comfortable around all types of animals and know very well on how to take care of them properly. I’m a student at UGA now and working towards graduating this May. My homework has slowed down a lot and I am looking for ways to make extra cash with my free time. I will take care of your pets safely in your home—cleaning up after their messes, taking them out at appropriate times, and playing with them.
“Mallory was very friendly, and my cats loved her. She took great care of our house while we were gone and brought in packages that arrived. She sent photos and videos of the kitties, and she was easy to communicate with. I will definitely ask her to petsit again.”

“As first-time Rover users, we were initially nervous, but Taryn immediately set our minds at ease. She warmly suggested a meet-and-greet to ensure it was a good fit for us and our pets. While we were away, Taryn was excellent with communication, checking in upon arrival and sending regular photos and updates. Coming home was a delight; our house was spotless, our dogs were happy, fed, and well-exercised, and Taryn had even thoughtfully started a load of household linens in the wash. We have no doubt our animals adored her and received the very best care. We will absolutely be asking Taryn to return!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hull walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hull maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hull choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hull. On Rover:
- 84% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
